The food took a while before it was served, but the melon and proscuitto appetizer and the pizza were great! The waitress only ever interacted with us to take our orders and drop off our food, and never checked in. We ordered the baby octopus appetizer, but the octopus was very fishy, so we mentioned it to the manager who checked in on us inquiring about the octopus, but no one ever came back to follow up.
We ran into a perfect storm of issues at Urbana. Took forever to get our order in, and when we finally did, it took almost 1 hour for food to arrive. 4 tables around us ordered after and all were served well before us. When pizza arrived it was terribly Undercooked, with way too much sauce. The gluten free pizzas were particularly disgusting. There was a lovely female manager that tried to solve our issues, but there was no coming back from the disaster. Staying at the Mandarin, it was on their recommendation we eat there. We have informed them of our experience. Hole in the wall pizza joints serve much better pizza than this. They did comp our meal, which was kind, but unfortunately, we would have been happy to pay for a quality meal.
Overall good experience, the service was good but did have to prompt the server a couple times for different items. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating
Food was tasty but portions were small and expensive.
Not many people in the restaurant, limited number of servers dampened a bit the overall great time my compagnon and I had!!
I enjoyed my dinner here! It was strangely empty and the hostess was kind of creepy but other than that, the food was good. I just got weird vibes. We also had to wait for our table even though almost every table was empty and we had a reservation. Very good carbonara though.
Might go back and try sitting at the bar for oysters or their happy hour. My table wasn't a super fan of the apps and pizza we ordered, also we were there on a Sunday night so very quiet and sat us in the back of the bar where it was pretty dark.
The meal was delicious, but the service was horrible. They gave us 2 menus for 6 people and when we asked for more, we were told the manager was printing them. Printing them?? We looked around and every table was sharing menus. The manager brought out a complimentary appetizer for our wait, but never did bring the menus. One of our meals came out significantly later than the rest, and when our gluten free guest ordered a single scoop of pistachio ice cream for dessert, they brought it on a gluten-filled cookie that he fortunately saw and did not eat. The manager came out 15 minutes after we complained to the waiter to apologize and make sure he hadn't eaten the cookie. That was taken off our bill, but nothing else was done to make up it, or for the fact we'd been there over 2 hours at this point. And after all of that, the waiter approached us at the bar later to say we hadn't left the signed copy of the receipt (we had), and he needed to know what total to enter to close out the bill. Maybe if he hadn't been haphazardly shoving receipts into his pocket all night long, he wouldn't have lost ours. We will not be back.
Great time in private room.
I’ve eaten here four times and have been disappointed in the food each time. The service, however, is nice.
We stayed at the Kimpton Palomar and the restaurant is attached to the hotel. Arrived at our reservation time and were seated right away. Then we waited and waited and waited and the restaurant was not that busy. Food was good but overall service was not that great.
Standard seating: tables are a bit long, distancing you from your dinner date- could be positive or negative based off your preference. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. Dinner was a good portion (I thought it might be smaller at first).
Excellent service, food to match.
Must try the signature cocktails.
Food was not good for the price. Pasta undercooked, and our salumi board featured slices 1cm thick. Waitstaff was nice though! Just a farce for fine dining though.
Always s favorite. Love the bar
Awesome! The waiter was welcoming and the environment was nice and peaceful. The food was fantastic as always.
A wonderful place to dine after a long day in a busy city. The food is excellent and the service is great and the pace is perfect. Definitely recommend weather staying in the hotel or nearby having a meal at Irbana.
Our server was very gracious. Although our fries were forgotten, our server made sure we got them and even removed them from our tab. The pappardelle was delicious and so were the mussels! Definitely recommend for a date night!
Good food overall. Service was excellent! Visited with my family for dinner, there were other folks enjoying an evening out with colleagues or friends. I will visit again when I am in D.C.
The manager Kelly came out and greeted our table to make sure our food and service was going well. We all had nothing but great things to say about our server and food. It was my birthday brunch and I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you!
The wine was overly pricey. Otherwise it was really great.
My friend and I made a last-minute reservation for Urbana for brunch and were so impressed! The bottomless deals are great—the food is delicious, and the drinks were awesome. Our server, Charlie, gave great recommendations and was so friendly and fun. I would highly recommend this spot!
Great food, unfortunately there was a loud group near us and the so
Margarita tasted generic and steak, scallops, and salmon were okay. My stepson didn’t care for his margarita pizza. Service was okay.
I came here specifically because Urbana is on the 2019 DC Passport Program that offers 2 for 1 drinks. The waiter had no idea what it was about so he had to ask someone else about it, he also didn't stamp my page which was his mistake. Anyway, food was great, atmosphere was great, HH is only offered at the bar and not when you are seated, making reservations was easy, and the price is not too bad considering it is connected to a nice hotel. Aperol spritz available here which is another reason why I came here, I would come back here again for sure. Italian food was pretty good
The service was AWFUL! We had our pizza order wrong 3x and we did the pizza party (unlimited pizza). The pizza (the wrong order) came before the drinks!!! That wrong, especially when it’s “bottomless”. Pizza was delicious!
Yes it’s expensive but worth it, especially as compared to nearby restaurants which tend to be more casual student-type places. We stayed at the Palomar hotel for 4 nights - the Urbana is on the ground floor of the hotel. We were perfectly content going there at least once a day!
Dyisha is the best server I had in a long time. Her recommendation was spot on.
Have dinner there and enjoy any dish. You will not be disappointed
We celebrated a Georgetown graduation with a family dinner at Urbana. Wait staff was excellent and suggested which plates to share and brought drinks quickly when we arrived. Everyone was very happy with their dinner and portions were a good size. There were several other large parties celebrating graduations as well and tables were given enough space to feel private for their group.
Good for group reservations, but otherwise nothing special
We did not see our server again after placing our order and had to ask for our check after waiting a very long time. The food was not anything special taste wise and the selection was only so so. Drinks were very good but due to the lack of service we received we were not able to order more. We will not return.
A really nice evening. Great cocktails, food was fine but not awe-inspiring. But they accommodated our large group right away and were very attentive.
I hosted my birthday brunch at Urbana on 5/5/2019. The only juices for the bellinies were orange and grapefruit. The service was extremely slow, it took 30-45 mins to have beverages replenished. There were pieces of plastic on the cheeseboard ordered, and several food orders were incorrect. Overall this was an unpleasant experience.
Kentucky Derby Party was great fun. Let's do more of these for the Triple Crown!
Great food and service
It's a restaurant in a hotel. Ate there several times, food is good service is spotty.
This was a great experience. I went for brunch with a friend. The food was awesome and service was even better. I will be back!
The service was fantastic. No complaints there. The dish I had was terrible. It was the pasta with homemade lamb sausage and fava beans. Quite simply, it made me physically ill and ruined the rest of the evening. It was also a taste abomination. The pasta itself tasted as if a first year dorm freshman was following a recipe he did not understand. The sausage bits were fine by themselves as were the fava beans, if a bit salty. The somewhat aged mint was coarse and did not complement. The parmesan was waxy and uninteresting. At the bottom of the dish was a watery substance, and that's all I can say for it.
Breakfast on the same day was fine. I would do breakfast at the restaurant while staying at the hotel again. But not dinner. No.
Good selection of entrees and appetizers. Helpful staff. A bit noisy but a good vibe.
