Wonderful experience with excellent food & service. We selected the date night special that included a beet salad, sea bass, 2 glasses of wine & bread pudding for desert. We were fortunate to be seated in the back corner of the restaurant which offered a quieter setting than most of the restaurant. I would definitely revisit this restaurant & recommend to friends.
The biscuits are great, love the flavor, same for the dressed-up butter, and as for the smoked tomato jam, OMG! Our pastrami sandwiches on toasted rye the best I have ever had: the meat nice and lean, and the tarragon mustard beat all others, ever, in this combo.
All the above. Outstanding service
Love this place. GREAT food and good cocktails. Right in the heart of North Park. Shrimp and grits is amazing!
Enjoyable, overall. I give the service the highest marks.
This is really nice place, the live music is wonderful! I ordered a brunch item, eggs with potatoes. The only thing I wish they offered is toast or fresh salsa with the breakfast items.
We had 3 orders of the Hangar Steak and they arrived at the table ice cold. When we complained the steaks were sent back to be warmed up. In order to preserve the medium rare requests the warmed up steaks were only slightly warmer. One person oredered the Duck Confit and it was over-cooked. Our dessert ice cream was served in a glass that was cracked at the base. Overall it was a very dissapointing meal.
The food at Urban Solace is just so great! Each dish has layers of flavor and texture, always something unexpected. The manager is really charming and visits each table to chat and make sure everyone is happy. I love that the chef is always tweaking the dishes and adding new items. I get so bored if a restaurant never changes the menu. I tried a lasagna made out of butternut squash instead of flour, just for fun, and it was so good, beyond words.
We ate here before a performance at the Old Globe Theatre. The service was amazing! My cranberry mule was delicious and the duck mac and cheese was decadent. Fun neighborhood restaurant in North Park. We will return!
Brunch/lunch date was good! The food was amazing! The cinnamon roll was everything we expected it to be. The libations were good. The service was overall good, but our server could have come around more. Overall we had a good time.
Always amazing....we had a small issue because of a picky eater, but the staff accommodated and everything was amazing!
This is one of my favorite restaurant in SD,consistent great quality and a good menu with awesome cocktails
We finally tried this place after 2 years and I will be back to try more of all the menus and days. Waitress was just wonderful. The funny thing is I know they share the kitchen with the sports bar True North Tavern but True North's food is awful all the time. Maybe two different chefs?
Urban Solace rocks!
I will never go back there. The service was horrible! Our waitress took our drink order but didn’t bring our drinks for 20 min. We waited over 30 min to get our food and when it arrived it was cold! The hangar steak eggs Benedict was flavorless and although the oyster sliders were delicious, it would not be enough to bring me back.
We went here for a Sunday birthday brunch. We didn’t know it was a bluegrass themed situation but loved it! The music was fabulous and the food was spot on, as usual. We did have a reservation and didn’t request to sit on the patio, but were seated there anyway (perhaps due to our reservation). The noise level was loud, but there was a band playing so this should not surprise anyone. Great service as always!
The service and food were very good. There was some room indoors, but it was noisy. We had made a reservation and were seated on the outdoor patio. Unfortunately, it was a very cold night and even with their heaters gathered around us, the floor was really cold. I would insist on indoors next time.
We live in DC and we came here for our anniversary dinner and they blew us away! Not only was the food AMAZING, but the service was above and beyond. They brought us complimentary champagne and ice cream with an ADORABLE hand-written anniversary note. Love this place, love the people, will be back so soon!
I was very disappointed with our brunch experience. My husband and I never get the opportunity to go out for brunch and I thought US would be a fun place. First off, they did not have our reservation which I made through open table via their website. They tried seating us in a dark corner of the indoor section of the restaurant. We are here for Sunday bluegrass brunch, I wanted to be outside with the music. So we waited 45 minutes at the bar for a table outside. Finally, we make it to an outside table and all is great until the food comes. I got the braised beef cheek hash; which was a second choice since their pork belly Benedict was out by the time we were seated. Nevertheless, there was essentially no meat in my dish! It was tiny pieces the size of ants, they must have reached from the bottom of the pot and gotten maybe 4 teeny tiny pieces of meat. I sent it back and the kitchen made it right but in the end it was a really uninspired and bland dish. So sad.
Went for their bluegrass Sunday brunch! Music was great, food was delicious, service was fantastic.
Bluegrass brunch is the best! Good food, friendly service, and awesome music!
Reservations don't include outdoor seating, so if you'd like to watch the Bluegrass band for Sunday brunch you need to arrive early. Otherwise, great food and attentive service.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazingly tasty food. Highly recommend!
We found the food very good and I do like the ambience except for the noise level. Lucky for us
we say at the back seating where sound level was significantly lower.
Just fantastic. Best chicken dish I may have ever had. And the biscuits...stop. What a lovely meal!
Amazing food and service! I’ll definitely be back.
Great food, great service, amazing staff.
The hanger steak was not very tender and the crispy duck confit was not crispy at all. Pate was good but we had to keep asking for more toast because three small slices wasn’t enough. Very pricey.
Urban Solace always comes through for a great time. I have always sat on the patio and have loved it. It feels very much like New Orleans to me out there. This last time I was seated inside, which was not at all terrible - just different. Much louder. But it didn't matter as soon as those biscuits hit the table. All our worldly troubles disappeared.
Wonderful time at Urban Solace and truly appreciated the extra attention we received from Libby our waitress! Always an experience eating out with our 1 year old daughter - and with our friends visiting from out of town with their 1 year and 3 year old - we anticipated having a rushed meal ... we were well taken care of by the Urban Solace staff ... enjoyed our warm dishes and brunch cocktails! Thank you!
We had the chicken liver pate and it was fantastic, as were the oyster sliders! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back!
The food was great and we really enjoyed the service and ambiance!
Always good food and drinks, and typically good service too. My latest visit had us waiting for our food quite a long time, to the point they came out and apologized twice. I would recommend dining here, great spot for date night.
Loved everything about this place. Waiter was very attentive. The Mac and cheese was amazing!
We love Urban Solace! Our server was extremely pleasant, giving us advice on all of our selections. It’s been a favorite for years, nothing has changed.
Wonderful time at Urban Solace. We went for my husband’s birthday dinner. We brought our 11 month old and they had a nice table and high chair waiting for us. Our baby loved the food and outdoor lights and we did too. Service was excellent.
Eggs Benedict were delicious! Great place for brunch, lunch and dinner.
Delicious dishes. Great ambience. Consistently well made.
Excellent service, wonderful quiet booth and a very nice slice of Foie Torchon today at lunch Urbane Solace- not on the menu but ask Chef and you might just score
The atmosphere is pretty awesome, and so is the drink selection.
