super great service!!!!! great dining place!
This a great place to eat. I find it to be inviting and intimate.
Our server was excellent, the food was delicious, great selection of wines. Overall a very nice place for a casual dinner / date dinner.
Service, food, and atmosphere were excellent! May have been some of the best service we’ve ever had the pleasure to enjoy!
It was REALLY great! I was nervous because it was my turn to pick the restaurant and my husband low key will shade me if I choose a dud. This was SO great! Get the beef cheeks and the cheese plate. You'll be happy with both. The bartender made me an awesome sangria and the blue cheese stuffed olives in his martini were EXCELLENT. Two thumbs way UP!
The food was okay but not stellar.
Lunch and Dinner are usually great at Urban Solace. Avoid the Bluegrass brunch. The protein on the brunch dishes, both the Beefcheek Hash and the Hanger Steak Benedict were nearly non-existent. Time for the food to arrive at the table was also painfully slow. All in all with so many good brunch options in North Park, I would suggest going elsewhere on a Sunday morning. Save your visits to Urban Solace for the dinner fare.
Our party of 6 had an amazing time at ‘Blunch’ (bluegrass Sunday brunch.) We started with cheese biscuits and bloody Mary’s then moved onto some of the best tomatoe soup ever eaten, various Benedict’s, hash, and shrimp and grits, and salad. The bluegrass band was excellent and fun. Our server, Todd’s, friendly service rounded out one of the funnest and tastiest Sunday Brunch’s ever. Urban Solace is highly recommended!
Restaurant was ok. Service not bad although they wouldn’t accommodate us at another table after we complained we were in the high traffic service area. Food pretty heavy.. good wine and nice server.
The food was very good . The portion size of the duck was very small however . The service was extremely slow . Took one hour to get our dinner .
Always our go to spot for brunch! Love their patio!
I don’t ge
The service and food were great
We were there for Easter. Very disappointing. Food had to be returned, price was too large for the amount of food served. Everyone was trying their best, but not again for me.
Great place to eat really delicious food. Everything tastes great because it is locally sourced and prepared perfectly!
Tonight we were incredibly disappointed with our experience. We are confident that our waitress either never placed our entree order or the ticket got lost in the kitchen. We sat patiently for a long time watching countless tables around us getting their dinner and most tables had sat down and ordered after us. When we tried to talk to our waitress about why we had been waiting so long she seemed to have no idea it had been over 40 min since we placed our order. Then the manager came over and tried to tell us the ticket was moved to the front of the line and it only took a long time because we ordered an appetizer. The food finally showed up almost an hour after we ordered it. Honestly if ordering an appetizer means I won’t get my entree in a reasonable timeline I won’t be coming back here. I’ve eaten at this restaurant two times before and never experienced this. It was really frustrating because neither our waitress or the manager apologized for the wait. Instead they made it seem like we caused the problem. We were going to an event tonight so once the food finally came we could barely enjoy it because we had to eat and run. This was really disappointing.
Food was delicious, and staff were friendly.
Always a solid choice when dining at Urban Solace. Continues to be one of the staples of North Park, and for good reason
Our visit was for my birthday. The staff all wished me well and treated me so kindly. Our food was delicious from first too last! We will definitely visit Urban Solace again. My thanks to all the people at Urban Solace for making my 70th birthday celebration memorable!
Family get together. We had two family members who have gluten intolerance and were very pleased with the gluten free menu options. Great food, great atmosphere, great service!
We really enjoyed our lunch: fried oysters were best we've had in San Diego, mussels in creamy broth were perfectly cooked. Pleasant atmosphere outside on the patio. Friendly staff.
This place was so incredible!!!
Drinks- check! Tasty and catchy names! And great beers!
Food- TO DIE FOR! the biscuits and tomato soup omfg !#&÷/=*%.:&=\×*$;!!!
Just go here and eat, you will love it!
Great service and great food and mimosas! We made a reservation and were seated right away too!
We sat on the outdoor patio. The chairs are metal and really need to have cushions. Additionally, the chairs sit low so it was a little of your childhood all over again, reaching up.
The food was delicious. The combination of flavors was amazing. Our order took a loooonnnnnngggg time to arrive. like over an hour. During that time, other empty tables were occupied, served and emptied.
The patio seating is nice with the heaters but the table was right at the edge of the patio so the two outdoor chairs were cold.
Disappointed this last visit. We went one time before, menu was great, food was really good. This visit, we waited quite a while before someone even came to our table for drink order. Their chicken and dumpling dish was just a small bowl of a few dumplings and a couple chunks of chicken and some overcooked carrots. It was underwhelming. Husband had meat loaf. Not impressed. It was very spicy and dry. Won't be returning.
This was a recommended place and I had high expectations but two out of four of us didn’t care for our food and thought it was meh. The other two were ok with theirs but didn’t rave.
Chicken and dumplings. 2 of us ordered and both of us thought it was going to be more hearty. It was like soup. Had very little chicken and rubbery Dumplings. It’s was seriously meh.
Halibut, diner thought was good.
Duckaroni, diner thought was good.
Root beer was tasty.
Service was great.
Excellent food and service.
Smelled a bit stale inside the restaurant, but the food was very good.
Best corned beef ever!
Wonderful experience with excellent food & service. We selected the date night special that included a beet salad, sea bass, 2 glasses of wine & bread pudding for desert. We were fortunate to be seated in the back corner of the restaurant which offered a quieter setting than most of the restaurant. I would definitely revisit this restaurant & recommend to friends.
The biscuits are great, love the flavor, same for the dressed-up butter, and as for the smoked tomato jam, OMG! Our pastrami sandwiches on toasted rye the best I have ever had: the meat nice and lean, and the tarragon mustard beat all others, ever, in this combo.
All the above. Outstanding service
Love this place. GREAT food and good cocktails. Right in the heart of North Park. Shrimp and grits is amazing!
Enjoyable, overall. I give the service the highest marks.
Food was so-so. My eggs Benedict was lukewarm and barely had any hollandaise on it. It wasn't terrible by any means, but I would say it was the worst brunch/breakfast of our week-long trip to San Diego.
This is really nice place, the live music is wonderful! I ordered a brunch item, eggs with potatoes. The only thing I wish they offered is toast or fresh salsa with the breakfast items.
We had 3 orders of the Hangar Steak and they arrived at the table ice cold. When we complained the steaks were sent back to be warmed up. In order to preserve the medium rare requests the warmed up steaks were only slightly warmer. One person oredered the Duck Confit and it was over-cooked. Our dessert ice cream was served in a glass that was cracked at the base. Overall it was a very dissapointing meal.
The food at Urban Solace is just so great! Each dish has layers of flavor and texture, always something unexpected. The manager is really charming and visits each table to chat and make sure everyone is happy. I love that the chef is always tweaking the dishes and adding new items. I get so bored if a restaurant never changes the menu. I tried a lasagna made out of butternut squash instead of flour, just for fun, and it was so good, beyond words.
We ate here before a performance at the Old Globe Theatre. The service was amazing! My cranberry mule was delicious and the duck mac and cheese was decadent. Fun neighborhood restaurant in North Park. We will return!
Brunch/lunch date was good! The food was amazing! The cinnamon roll was everything we expected it to be. The libations were good. The service was overall good, but our server could have come around more. Overall we had a good time.
