We are located in the heart of North Park’s “Restaurant Row”, near bustling neighborhoods of Hillcrest, South Park and University Heights, and just north of Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park. We are open seven days a week - reservations are recommended. Please specify on your reservation if you wish to be seated inside or outside on our heated and covered patio. We are famous for our “Bluegrass Brunch” every Sunday - live music is played from 10am - 2pm. Reservations for our Bluegrass brunch are limited, and are for the inside restaurant only.

I brought my mom & dad here to celebrate my mom’s 76th birthday (which I noted in the reservation). I was concerned about the noise level since my dad has a hart time hearing (and refuses to use his hearing aids!). I was pleasantly surprised first by the staff greeting my mom with a friendly “Happy Birthday” and also by the noise level. The live band was playing on the patio & we sat inside and were not bothered by the music at all.
The staff was great, our waitress was super friendly and informative and attentive. She even replaced my dad’s decaf coffee since she wasn’t sure if the last person who refilled his was serving decaf. He really appreciated that!
We all totally enjoyed our brunch and the experience was perfect. We will be back!
Great place for date night. Good food and nice, attentive servers. I had the sea bass. It was very good and cooked perfectly. Oh and they can make handcrafted cocktails. The Saint Diego is awesome!
Service was fantastic. We sat on the patio. There were TOO many flies!!! Food was not that great. My veggie burger was good but ithers didn’t like their hamburgers which tasted too much of Worcester sauce. My bloody Mary was tasteless and I had to ask for more mix.
This place was nice, the food was good. The only issue is my father got double charge for the meal, still trying to get the money back from the extra charge. I would recommend checking your bank statement after your visit here.
Lovely ambiance, good service, very good food, truly comfort dishes with a a modern tweak that make them just that much more enjoyable. Caveats portions are not Californian, but rather more substantial, more NOLA...in sync with the type of food and the building
So disappointing in about every way. When people make brunch reservations, the restaurant should clarify if it's for the music and attempt to accommodate. Beyond that, the entrees were very disappointing. The "Beef cheek" hash was corn and potatoes; not a bit of meat in it. The Salmon on the Benedict was dry, the spinach tasteless, and don't bother with the mushroom option. The server never once checked on us. With so many options in San Diego, I won't be supporting this place again.
The chicken was the best I have ever had. Our waitress was sweet and friendly and the drinks were good. Will definitely be going back for more date nights and specially for that chicken.
Great food and service. Have never had a bad meal here. The sea bass was a little over-salted. The yellowtail tartare was refreshing in that it wasn't a citrus/acid bomb like many fish tartares and felt more savory and balanced (even though I love citrus).
You have to try the Black Velvet Cake. Chocolatey, moist, with a little crunch from cocoa nibs sprinkled on top and delicious cream cheese frosting. One of the best restaurant slices of cake we've had.
I really enjoy Solace - I ended up at Solace in Encinitas not downtown. It was fantastic!!!
Great brunch and way better service than most places nowadays. They didn’t skip a beat - brought ketchup right when I was about to ask for it, great food, friendly staff all around. They’re keepers!
Overpriced. Not much protein, and really greasy...almost no hollandaise on the Benedict, not much flavor. Cinnamon roll was good. Service was good. Disappointing overall.
Excellent no problems would go there again
Urban Solace is a San Diego gem. Their creative menu is outstanding and the service is always first rate!
Everything was delicious, from the cocktails to the food, it was all YUMMY! Loved the ambience
They're food was delicious. Service was very fast. Loved our waitress!
I live in the neighborhood and have many choices of where to dine. This is my favorite North Park restaurant. The food is so tasty and the service is professional.
Just beautiful! The meal and Rosé was amazing! Will go again!
Very mindful of Gluten Free and careful of cross contamination. Be sure to check in with your server about food allergies.
Ordered the shrimp and grits...omg! I will be eating here again. Also, the cheddar biscuits are so good
We had lunch outside where it was quiet. The food and service were good, especially the beignets.
Overpriced and entrees entirely too salty. Food took 45 minutes to arrive.
Delicious food and drinks. Nice ambience. Great service. Would just recommend cushions on outdoor seats, as became quite uncomfortable after just 15 minutes.
Love the bluegrass brunch!
It was great!
Our server and all of the staff was helpful, timely, and very friendly. This was a much needed date night and the staff and ambience made it perfect! Thank you!
Urban solace never lets us down! Great food, great wine list and awesome staff. This is one place that I will always bring out of town family for a great experience.
My friend and I ordered the vegetarian dish with Farro. It was nice and cheesy but every bite was loaded with corn. The arugula salad I ordered was quite ordinary. Arugula, some pepitos, a couple slices of grapefruit and the dressing was unremarkable. At $13 I was expecting something delish. We ordered the cheese board for 4 people and it came with 4 small pieces of bread. Our server did bring more bread so we could enjoy the rest of the cheese with bread if we wanted. All in all, I was expecting more as it was recommended by more than one friend. I love to leave a new restaurant and think that I can't wait to go back. I did not feel that way about Urban Solace. The atmosphere is lively and our server was great!
Food and service were more than acceptable, but the noise level was so high that one needed to shout to be heard. Definitely NOT a relaxing experience.
Ordered the biscuits, the pate, the sea bass and the beef cheeks. The plate presentations were nice although the food was surprisingly tasteless. I probably should have stuck with the mac and cheese. Can't go wrong with that, right? The service was good, knowledgeable, friendly. 6: 45 on a Sunday Eve.
Service was very slow. The Steak Cheeks and their fries were good, but no one else in my 7 person party enjoyed their meal.
Everything was great about this place the food was spectacular and i dont use that word lightly.
Met a friend for dinner, it was my first time dining here and it was wonderful all around.
Read about this place on Eater. Had good vegetarian options. Made a reservation (for 1 haha) but wound up sitting at the bar. Nice place, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Only problem was that they brought my main out less than 5 min after I got my app. I had maybe half of a biscuit and then the main arrived. Don't like that - plan better in the kitchen to give diners a chance to enjoy their app, drink, digest a bit and then bring the main. It wasn't packed, nor close to closing, so no reason for the rush.
Waiter was helpful and attentive.
Food was delicious.
Shared appetizer was a good value.
Reserved table was ready upon arrival.
Disappointing compared to all the other times I have been here.
This was just a lunch with two friends who both share their love and mine too for the awesome watermelon salad. It is the best one we have had and maybe the first time years ago when we had it. We keep coming back for it during the summer because it's so refreshing. Of course, I had to get the duckaroni to go, can't pass that up at all. So delicious. One of our friends had a birthday and our sweet server even brought over some ice cream, very nice of her.
the food really blew us away! don’t pass on the charcuterie and cheese platter - exceptionally arranged and really special options to choose from. the beef cheeks are not to be missed! so tender and perfectly cooked, every bite was as good as the first. service was a bit awkward - our server dashed off as soon as we finished saying we wanted the charcuterie platter and promptly disappeared, without taking the rest of our meal and drink orders until much later. the pacing of our meal wasn’t great because of this; however, the food more than made up for the small glitch in service. would highly recommend!
Bluegrass brunch on Sunday was so lovely! Good was delish and atmosphere was so much fun for our birthday celebrations!
