This is one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. The menu is always fresh, great food, impeccable service and a fantastic cocktail menu.
Great comfort southern-fusion place. Had brunch items to satisfy my breakfast-hating boyfriend, picky stepdad, and Keto mom, while still catering to my trendy and adventurous taste.
My only negative is that I HATE when restaurants don't gift anything on a birthday... It's the principle of the thing. I bring a whole group of friends and family out to celebrate, at least show some kind of gesture. And we both know that your markup on those deserts is insane anyway.... What could it really cost? $2-3? It's about making someone feel special on their special day!
But that is my ONLY gripe! We had a great time and enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
It was a cool May grey day and decided their menu would be great to meet some friends. It was the perfect comfort food for a cold day. Would definitely go back.
Libby was absolutely fantastic and I will definitely return
excellent food and drinks. a little bit loud inside for a big group, but always worth it!
A very pleasant dining experience. The food and ambiance were terrific.
The food and service are my highlights. Came with two friends for a Saturday brunch. We enjoyed the pecan cinnamon roll, salmon benedict, steak benedict, artichoke dip. All of the food was delicious, flavorful, no added salt or pepper needed! However, the portion size is quite smaller than the pictures, but a perfect single serving size. Oh, the biscuits were great! The Bloody Mary was nothing special.
Had a great time, would come again if I am in the area. I did walk by on Sunday morning and there was live music.
We took a dear 87-year-old friend to Urban Solace for his birthday. Our server was wonderfully attentive, and the food was perfect. We shared a delicious dessert to top off a great meal together.
One word... Outstanding!! We went for my wife’s Birthday and had an outstanding meal. We had multiple items cause they all sounded good. Cheddar biscuits, jerk wings (yum yum) I had a soup of the day that was very good my wife and daughter had the spinach salad with bacon vinaigrette and egg. I had the meatloaf with mash Potatoes, my wife had the beef cheeks and my daughter had the molasses glazed jidori chicken. I’m rambling but I tell you the meal was good and we will be back!! I almost forgot to mention the service was also outstanding so do yourself a favor and try them
We loved Urban Solace. It was food like Mother made; rich, flavorful and cooked with love. The soup had the cooked right taste, meaning long and slow and with care. The ingredients were all of the best quality and it was reflected in the flavor. Everything we had was delicious and the service was superior. I couldn't have been happier. I look forward to returning.
Excellent food! Cinnamon Roll is out of this world. Todd took great care of our table!
We were seated immediately upon arriving, happy to have been seated indoors, considering that my mom hates outdoor dining. Service was great, the food even better!
Loved everything about it, except for the music outside. The music itself was great, but it was really loud. I was practically yelling across the table to be heard.
Our server was A+. The food was really delicious. We would go back.
Arrived on a busy Saturday and our table was ready right away. Food great, service was great. A wonderful restaurant.
Date day with my HS BFF. She lives here. I don’t. It was the quintessential San Diego brunch experience. Great champagne mimosas. (A lot of them!) Food was excellent. I would have preferred a little more of everything, probably because it was so good, but definitely didn’t leave hungry.
Our waiter, Jona, gave us the best service from my entire stay here. Attentive, friendly, accommodating.
Our main entrees were both over salted ..!! This was the only issue ... duck confit and sea bass I believe were the dishes .. mussels were awesome though and drink !!
I’m gonna start this review by saying that the burger is a MUST. The place is nice and cozy, I went for a late lunch so it was quiet. I started off with the vanilla scented beets salad which was so good. Main course was the burger and I can honestly say it is by far the best burger I’ve had in San Diego! It was juicy and perfectly seasoned and just delicious. It comes with a side of seasoned fries.. the portions are very filling. For dessert I tried Les s’mores which was yum!
Love Urban Solace. I'll be back! Everything was great, the food, the service, the patio.
Great spot to gather the whole family for a delicious brunch accompanied by live bluegrass music.
The bar set up was very nice and pretty. Very welcoming. Staff was attentive and friendly. The food portion was a decent size and flavorful. Drinks were made perfectly and in a timely manner. There wasn't a long wait for anything.
super great service!!!!! great dining place!
Had the beef cheeks and the duckaroni. Both were excellent. Great service.
Beef cheeks were amazing but the meatloaf was funky and neither my wife nor I liked it.
This a great place to eat. I find it to be inviting and intimate.
Our server was excellent, the food was delicious, great selection of wines. Overall a very nice place for a casual dinner / date dinner.
Service, food, and atmosphere were excellent! May have been some of the best service we’ve ever had the pleasure to enjoy!
It was REALLY great! I was nervous because it was my turn to pick the restaurant and my husband low key will shade me if I choose a dud. This was SO great! Get the beef cheeks and the cheese plate. You'll be happy with both. The bartender made me an awesome sangria and the blue cheese stuffed olives in his martini were EXCELLENT. Two thumbs way UP!
The food was okay but not stellar.
Lunch and Dinner are usually great at Urban Solace. Avoid the Bluegrass brunch. The protein on the brunch dishes, both the Beefcheek Hash and the Hanger Steak Benedict were nearly non-existent. Time for the food to arrive at the table was also painfully slow. All in all with so many good brunch options in North Park, I would suggest going elsewhere on a Sunday morning. Save your visits to Urban Solace for the dinner fare.
Our party of 6 had an amazing time at ‘Blunch’ (bluegrass Sunday brunch.) We started with cheese biscuits and bloody Mary’s then moved onto some of the best tomatoe soup ever eaten, various Benedict’s, hash, and shrimp and grits, and salad. The bluegrass band was excellent and fun. Our server, Todd’s, friendly service rounded out one of the funnest and tastiest Sunday Brunch’s ever. Urban Solace is highly recommended!
The food was a little disappointing to be honest, especially for the price. The service, however, was outstanding!
We sometimes forget about coming to Urban but were meeting a few friends for dinner. In fact we initially met @ 7 Grand for a cocktail and then made our way over to the restaurant. Let me tell you that they were just on in every way possible. The service to the food was excellent and it was cool to recommend some old favorites like the meatloaf to our friends. We shared the Mac and cheese as an app and it was epic from there. Cool ambiance and great location because when you're done you're right there in the middle of the action. Can't wait to go back.
Restaurant was ok. Service not bad although they wouldn’t accommodate us at another table after we complained we were in the high traffic service area. Food pretty heavy.. good wine and nice server.
The food was very good . The portion size of the duck was very small however . The service was extremely slow . Took one hour to get our dinner .
Always our go to spot for brunch! Love their patio!
I don’t ge
The service and food were great
We were there for Easter. Very disappointing. Food had to be returned, price was too large for the amount of food served. Everyone was trying their best, but not again for me.
Great place to eat really delicious food. Everything tastes great because it is locally sourced and prepared perfectly!
