My fiancé and I came here for brunch. Highly recommend getting the biscuits and the kitchen sink biscuits and gravy. So good!
The food was spectacular!! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for something slightly different in the North Park area.
Brunch is good, but over priced. Hipster interpretations of various cuisines which could use more flavor and presence. Presentation is good, but again over priced. Cocktails are average. Outdoor ambience is mediocre at best. Good service.
Been for brunch and for dinner. While brunch wasn’t bad, dinner is by far the better choice.
Small restaurant, nice patio area but we opted to sit inside because the bluegrass band was really loud on the patio. Started with the biscuits and the tomato jam that accompanied them was delicious. I ordered shrimp and grits which were a good sized portion, five big shrimp and super creamy and tasty grits. The men ordered the biscuits and gravy and wondered why the gravy was more sauce-like and didn't include sausage. Bacon is super sweet. Someone else in our party ordered the cheesy eggs which was a small portion potatoes, a bowl of grits and scrambled eggs. She said she was underwhelmed by the dish and told the server the potatoes were so salty that they were inedible. The service here is extremely conscientious. The waiter relayed that information to a manager who came to our table and apologized and took the meal off the bill. The staff works hard to make customers happy. Cute building, looks like a house you'd find in New Orleans. Street parking but loads of parking lots nearby.
Super awesome brunch. Definitely recommend the lemon poppyseed and blueberry pancakes. The music was fun and the staff was very attentive. A perfect place to finish off the weekend.
Seeing a friend and converse
Met up with friends that I hadn’t seen in 20 years. Great food and atmosphere. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to catch up with old friends.
Great food and delicious craft cocktails!
Everything was great. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Always a pleasant experience! Hats off to Melanie for the excellent service!
This place never disappoints. Been here several times and food is always outstanding.
Love love love this place!!!
Food amazing. We had all the Tuesday New Orleans specials for our Anniversary dinner. Perfect shrimp and grits. Fabulous gumbo. My husband had the chicken and dumplings and was very happy.
Sazerac is a favorite of my husband and I and tho I normally avoid hurricanes the one Urban Solace mix meisters created was fantastic, fruitfull but not too sweet, refreshing and citrusy with passion fruit!
The food is of high quality. We had the sea bass and the chicken and dumplings and we we're both very happy. The artichoke dip and smokey tomatoe spread for the biscuits were very good as well.
I also loved the cuke mule. A bit on the sweet side but tasty.
Both the service and the food was phenomenal. I honestly wouldn’t change a thing
Even my stepmother, who has celiac, had a vast array of choices.
Thank you for a special day!
Good, special and very enjoyable food. Very cheesy though.
Had a wonderful first experience at Urban Solace. They easily catered to Gluten Free needs by having a full menu to chose from. Our waitress (Melanie - I believe) was lovely, very helpful and friendly. I will certainly dine here again.
Dinner with friends before a show at the Observatory. We had eaten here before so were hopeful that our past good experience would be repeated. We were not disappointed. Alison took great care of us. Service was prompt and attentiveThe menu choices were interesting and we each tried something different. My crispy duck confit was excellent. The duck was tasty and tender with nice crisp on the outside. My wife had the pork belly which was also excellent. Our friends had the (not your mommas) meatloaf and chicken dumplings respectively. All enjoyed their choices. We will return!
Great place, great food. The AC was too cold otherwise it was great experience.
This place was top notch. Interesting food ideas- all of which (ordered) were prepared wonderfully. As happy with the experience as one could be. Definitely recommending it and would definitely go back for more.
AmaIng food as usual. I can always count on this place to impress my out-of-town friends!
I brought my mom & dad here to celebrate my mom’s 76th birthday (which I noted in the reservation). I was concerned about the noise level since my dad has a hart time hearing (and refuses to use his hearing aids!). I was pleasantly surprised first by the staff greeting my mom with a friendly “Happy Birthday” and also by the noise level. The live band was playing on the patio & we sat inside and were not bothered by the music at all.
The staff was great, our waitress was super friendly and informative and attentive. She even replaced my dad’s decaf coffee since she wasn’t sure if the last person who refilled his was serving decaf. He really appreciated that!
We all totally enjoyed our brunch and the experience was perfect. We will be back!
Great place for date night. Good food and nice, attentive servers. I had the sea bass. It was very good and cooked perfectly. Oh and they can make handcrafted cocktails. The Saint Diego is awesome!
Service was fantastic. We sat on the patio. There were TOO many flies!!! Food was not that great. My veggie burger was good but ithers didn’t like their hamburgers which tasted too much of Worcester sauce. My bloody Mary was tasteless and I had to ask for more mix.
This place was nice, the food was good. The only issue is my father got double charge for the meal, still trying to get the money back from the extra charge. I would recommend checking your bank statement after your visit here.
Lovely ambiance, good service, very good food, truly comfort dishes with a a modern tweak that make them just that much more enjoyable. Caveats portions are not Californian, but rather more substantial, more NOLA...in sync with the type of food and the building
So disappointing in about every way. When people make brunch reservations, the restaurant should clarify if it's for the music and attempt to accommodate. Beyond that, the entrees were very disappointing. The "Beef cheek" hash was corn and potatoes; not a bit of meat in it. The Salmon on the Benedict was dry, the spinach tasteless, and don't bother with the mushroom option. The server never once checked on us. With so many options in San Diego, I won't be supporting this place again.
The chicken was the best I have ever had. Our waitress was sweet and friendly and the drinks were good. Will definitely be going back for more date nights and specially for that chicken.
Great food and service. Have never had a bad meal here. The sea bass was a little over-salted. The yellowtail tartare was refreshing in that it wasn't a citrus/acid bomb like many fish tartares and felt more savory and balanced (even though I love citrus).
You have to try the Black Velvet Cake. Chocolatey, moist, with a little crunch from cocoa nibs sprinkled on top and delicious cream cheese frosting. One of the best restaurant slices of cake we've had.
I really enjoy Solace - I ended up at Solace in Encinitas not downtown. It was fantastic!!!
Great brunch and way better service than most places nowadays. They didn’t skip a beat - brought ketchup right when I was about to ask for it, great food, friendly staff all around. They’re keepers!
Overpriced. Not much protein, and really greasy...almost no hollandaise on the Benedict, not much flavor. Cinnamon roll was good. Service was good. Disappointing overall.
Excellent no problems would go there again
Urban Solace is a San Diego gem. Their creative menu is outstanding and the service is always first rate!
Everything was delicious, from the cocktails to the food, it was all YUMMY! Loved the ambience
They're food was delicious. Service was very fast. Loved our waitress!
I live in the neighborhood and have many choices of where to dine. This is my favorite North Park restaurant. The food is so tasty and the service is professional.
Just beautiful! The meal and Rosé was amazing! Will go again!
Very mindful of Gluten Free and careful of cross contamination. Be sure to check in with your server about food allergies.
Ordered the shrimp and grits...omg! I will be eating here again. Also, the cheddar biscuits are so good
