Urban Grub Ratings and Reviews
Overall it was good. Service wasn't the best, not once was my H2O filled and after we asked for more coffee it was another 10 minutes before he refilled it. Food took a longtime to arrive, but when it did, it was very good. It was very loud and hard to hear everyone at the table. If you don't often see or visit with the folks you're going with, maybe best to go somewhere that isn't as loud.
Always a great experience! We always love the selection of fresh oysters. Great service by wait staff as usual. My only comment is the Host stand is never quiet as friendly and organized as one would expect at this level...this visit the Hostess awkwardly handed us a pager to wait for a reserved table and told us to wait and then 30 seconds later took us to a table.
It was amazing even the owner came by and thanked everyone for coming in and dining with us! I had important people here from New York and South Carolina and the service, the food the table just amazing!!! This was a very important business dinner and they made it a great experience for our client and my employees!! Thank you!
Urban Grub was a great spot for our wedding anniversary - service was wonderful, the waiter really took the time to explain to us how/why/what made each dish special, the food was exceptional, and the value was great.
Get the grits, the pork chop, and the vanilla bean doughnuts for dessert.
New to Nashville and gound Urban Grub. Great experience. Would have liked it to be a little quieter buy hey when your popular 😊 we had shrimp and grits and crabcakes and they were wonderful. Mushroom appetizer was good and rhe andouille sausage was meh. Banana pudding pie was wonderful and the service top notch.
I am a Nashvillian for 21 years and have been there since doors were opened. I brought family that have eaten at the best, but thought this would be a great local experience and have them in the gulch. I was torn, between Adele's, Fin and Pearl, and chose Urban Grub.. two of us ordered a rib eye. One came out 3 inches think and it was handed to me... I saw the other and handed that to my guest. The other, mine, was 1/2 inch think and so fatty it was not eatable. It was supposed have mushrooms and they were so tiny that they were withered away and the sauce on the steak was all you could taste. It was beyond over powering. After coming there for years, since you opened, recommended your establishment to all, have spent a great deal of money there... I will not be back.. I also got there a bit early and went to the bar and ordered a glass of wine.. the bartender seemed put out.... no worries I will spend my and others money elsewhere. I was emabarrased.
I have been to Urban Grub many times since moving to Nashville and it has not disappointed yet. I am a vegetarian and I really enjoy the veggie platter, cuban corn, and french fries. The ambiance is very nice and a place I would take people from out of town.
This restaurant is my husband and I'm favorite restaurant in Nashville. We came here this year to celebrate his birthday and celebrate two years since our first date (yes it was on his birthday but I didn't know till later). WE have now been coming to Urban Grub for 2 years and it's our favorite. We have never had a bad meal, something not prepared right, or bad service! Excellent restaurant and of course it's a special place for us too.
The food was great, but the service was very lacking. Spent over $100 for just the two of us but our waiter was impolite, never smiled, stone-cold emotions and even forgot one of our drinks. 4.5 stars for the food, 1 star for the service. The worst part is all the other servers seemed to be very cordial and friendly - if we had gotten one of them it might have been a different story.
We made a reservation here, but did not realize that there are two areas for eating ... one is more formal and the other is much more casual, but still very nice. Had we known that we would have gone for the casual side ( no reservations). We wanted something light but ended up ordering complete dinners. Great food!
Food was good but overpriced. The high points were the grouper special, crab cakes and the chocolate baked Alaska. The ice cream flavour for the night was spiced peach. It was bland with very little peach or spice flavor and it fact it was not sweet enough. We had casually mentioned that we were going to split the lettuce wedge and it came out cut in half which we thought was thoughtful until we got the bill and they charged us $4 to split the salad!
Urban Grub was recommended for our business meal with out of town guests and we have found our new favorite restaurant in Nashville. Garth, the manager, was extremely nice, helpful and accommodating for all our dining needs. The atmosphere, service and food were excellent and it was just an overall wonderful evening and outstanding dining experience. We will definitely be back.
Everyone in our party of six was delighted with the food, which is rare from a family of foodies. The consensus on the best entrée was unanimously the lamb chops - unbelievably delicious! If you want to taste REAL Southern collards, order them here! There were so many wonderful surprises, like GF popovers (who does that?). We will go back as many times as necessary to try the entire menu. Another surprise was the incredible service we received - not too snarky but not too sweet. Jimmy, our waiter, made a good experience great!
So absolutely fantastic it is hard to put into words! Okay, one word: pig. Gloriously pig! We probably went wonderfully overboard on the number of park products that landed on our table, but those pork "fries" could turn the folks at Moosewood into believers!! From being seated (and later checked in with) by Garth, our host, som, and likely the GM, to being taken care of by Jimmy, to food that was "off the hook!!", I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Urban Grub.
Great food! Great atmosphere! We've been before and had great service, but this time was different.
Poor service from an indifferent server lacking the basic knowledge of both the food menu and the drink menu. The other staff members that helped us were very competent and enthusiastic. I hope he was having a bad night or something, because his "service" was the low point of our dinner last weekend.
