Urban Grub Ratings and Reviews
Our meal was absolutely delicious. I had the 7oz filet. My husband had the lamb chops. We ordered mashed potatoes, grits, asparagus and macaroni as sides to share with our group. The wait staff was great and very professional. Great meal and great experience. We will return.
Again, we had the pleasure of Sarah as our server. She makes coming to Urban Grub a great experience. She is very knowledgeable. Everything and I mean everything was fabulous. The food and drinks never disappoint but Sarah makes it a super fun experience. We will be back and we will request Sarah.
Live in the area and have tried to give this restauraunt a chance on multiple times and the food is never up to par. Last time was the last, ordered the corned beef hash for brunch and had to send it back. The chunks of corned beef were like rubber...could not bite through it! Of course they brought me something else, and took it off the bill, but by then my husband was long done with his food. Wish we would have just stayed home.. didn’t really enjoy a good meal together. I’ve never had a great meal there in the handful of times of gone, which, for a handful and at the price they charge, you’d think I would have at least been impressed once
Urban Grub is hands down my favorite restaurant in Nashville. As usual, the food was amazing, the service was incredible; Whenever I get James as my server, I know it's going to be a good night. He always goes above and beyond to make sure I'm treated like foodie royalty. But sitting in his section, I know that he treats all his guests like that. He's literally the only server I want/need when dining at Urban Grub. The fresh meats, the vegetables, everything is so incredibly fresh, farm to table and nicely executed you just can't go wrong with anything you choose to try. The pork chop was delicious as always, the bacon wrapped Trout was one of the best specials I've had in awhile. I can't wait for my next visit, gotta space it out though cause I'll be bloated from last night's meal for a while. LOL
My wife and I split the crab cakes and we each had a kale Caesar salad. My wife had an old fashioned from the bar and I had a beer. For dessert I had the chocolate ganache and she had ice cream medley. Taylor was an excellent waiter and we had a very pleasant experience. This was our second visit to Urban Grub and both meals were delicious.
This was my second visit after a fabulous first experience. We had the same server (James), who is fun and knowledgeable. He definitely added to the experience with his suggestions for an appetizer and entree. The food is great, the menu is great - I'll be back every chance I get.
Overall the meal wasn't bad. This is the 3rd or 4th time we've eaten at Urban Grub for Valentine's Day. This year the menu seemed like it was lacking. The rock lobster was terrible. But the chorizo sausage with lima bean and fennel appetizer was fantastic.
Probably my biggest gripe was being seated in the bar. I've never been seated in the bar during their Valentine's dinners. Maybe it's always gone on and I've just been lucky over the years. But obviously it's just loud and busy with people running in and out. Hard to have a nice relaxing dinner when you have to shout your conversation.
I realize it was Valentine's Day and obviously its going to be busy. But the timing of the food and the service was impeccable. So no complaints there. Just didn't get my money's worth this year. I will definitely go back for regular dinners but I think this might be my last Valentine's dinner at Urban Grub.
Very cool concept with their own in-house butcher shop. Food is some of the best I have had in Nashville after a dozen or so visits to other restaurants. This is a higher end restaurant so count on $50-$60 per person with drinks. Worth the trip.....exceptional brunch.
A great experience! John and Sarah were an awesome serving team. Food was amazing! Tables were a little tight — our only complaint, although it wasn’t too distracting. We will be back, especially this spring when the outdoor walls can roll up for patio seating!
We took a couple of friends out to Urban Grub that were visiting from out of town. We have eaten there a few times and it has always been very good. For whatever reason this time was exceptional though. The food was excellent and I would consider it one of the best meals I've ever had in Nashville if not the best meal. The meal was staggered perfectly so that we got all 3 aps at the appropriate time starting with cold oysters, next with cheese and cured meat, followed by a hot appetizer. The 4 main courses were all cooked perfectly and my double cut pork chop was the best I have ever eaten. They prepared a 3 dessert sampler tray for us and the cheesecake was unique and extremely good. The service was very good and Garth the sommelier was fantastic and help us pic out a wonderful port wine tasting to finish off the night.
Moved to Nashville three years ago. Have been working my way through the various restaurants. First time at UrbanGrub. Food was first rate in concept, presentation and preparation. I will definitely be back!
Service was very professional yet friendly, both by our waiter Todd and the sommelier Garth. I brought in two old bottles from my wine cellar and Garth handled them perfectly.
Only criticism is that the tables are close together and, as a result, the restaurant is not conducive to low volume conversation
Came in for Brunch as a family. Had not been in over a year and was impressed. Waitress was super informative. Made great recommendations. We shared a plate off the buffet that was well worth it. Our 8 year old loved her huge pancake and side of hash towns. My wife enjoyed her country ham, eggs and grits. Probably in my top 3 cheesy grits all time. The Tennessee hot brown was fantastic. Bloody Mary’s and mimosa’s lived up to the esteem to be at brunch. Loved everything!
Good food, good service, nice environment.
Special occasions or week night are always great. Special daily and weekly offerings are always different.
Need to tell staff when announcing daily specials to always give the price of each item. Helps when you are with a large group and this should be standard procedure.
