Urban Grub Ratings and Reviews
Have been to UG several times for dinner, this was the first time for Brunch.
This place is absolutely fabulous, the quality of the ingredients is amazing. They process and cure all their own meats on site and it is simply the best.
In my opinion this is in the top 2 dining establishments in Nashville.
Food was very good at Urban Grub. Went for birthday dinner and started with raw oysters. A little pricey but typical for land locked Nashville. Salmon was delicious and my husband enjoyed the grouper special. Squash side dish was tasty but way overpriced at $9, especially since the other side dishes listed in the menu were less. I guess they could get away with it because it was the special and so most people will not ask for the price before ordering. That was the only thing that irritated me. Ambiance was great with fires burning everywhere. Wine list was good.
Had the Wagyu and was not impressed. I do not think it was prepared properly. More chewy than melt in your mouth. Had tartar many times which was melted in my mouth. Also had it sashimi style, but this was not it. Urban Hub should stay to their core menu and not dive into things they aren't going to execute well.
The place was packed but thankful for comp valet service. With reservation we still had to wait 5-10 minutes for table, not bad but it was so crowded! Hubs had the filet and mac n cheese and I had the salad and shrimp & grits. We both preferred mine. Dessert banana pudding pie😞, vanilla bean donuts and ice cream😃.
My first time to dine at Urban Grub was great. I went with an old friend and she and I were
catching up while looking at the menu. Travis, our waiter, was savy enough to see that and
gave us plenty of time to decide our lunch. Overall food, service and experience were great.
I will be back. Also, my first time booking through Open Table. Easy experience.
The preparation and presentation of the meal was outstanding - the dry aged strip and lamb were amazing. We truly enjoyed the custom charcuterie platter and the knowledge of the wait staff. Taylor was a great guide around the menu and wine list. A second visit is a must - the oysters and double cut pork chop are next on our list.
Best place in Nashville imo
Southern steak n oyster sucks
Bobs is ok
Kayne Prime was same as bobs

Buiscit Love is perfect every time!
Urban Grub is tops in food and atmosphere! A must every time we are in Nashville.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. We really enjoyed our server Amy and her knowledge of the menu and wine list made for a wonderful meal. The shrimp and grits and filet were outstanding.
The banana pudding was okay, would try something different next time.
Overall. A+ night
Love this place. New fave in Noshville. Great oysters, steaks... got it all and servers super knowledgeable. Macie and Audrey are excellent - great friendly service, solid recommendations.
Filet and charcuterie, oysters and wine. What more could one ask for?
We went to celebrate our 15th anniversary and brought our 2 sons along (ages 7 & 10). The bartenders were great and made special fruity drinks for the boys. Our waiter was very helpful with recommendations as we hadn't been there before. He even brought our meals family - style so we could all share. It was a great night as a family!
Server Jimmy greeted us promptly, and was very informative. Shrimp and grits were well crafted, blended ingredients , very tasty. Pork shank had absolutely the best smoky complex taste! Exactly perfect temperatures, and the beet salad was tasty. Wine choice was assisted by sommelier Garth, who recommended a Spanish wine that matched our food, taste, and budget. Sat in dining room with a fire in the center (enclosed! no smoke) We continue to count Urban Grub as one of our Nashville favorites. valet parking was pleasant also.
Chef Edgar Pendley is proving that his talent far exceeds any of the celebrity chefs that have flocked to the hip Nashville scene. By sourcing harmone and antibiotic free beef, that he personally butchers and ages in his own facility, he is ensuring consistent superior quality beef. The same goes for his pork, sans the aging process of course. The bone in pork chop is the best I've had, not just in Nashville. His "catch of the day" is caught that day. His perperations are always different and never a disappointment. He is also responsible for the charcuterie and creates the best andouli sausage I've ever had. The oysters are fresher than many that I've had when visiting the coast.
The front of house staff are very attentive without being intrusive. You will certainly see either Garth, Blaze, or Eric stop by your table to ensure you've enjoyed your experience.
With all the new great restreraunts opening in Nashville, I make time to visit Urban Grub at least every couple of weeks. I've never been disappointed.
We were celebrating pre-Thanksgiving with our children who live in D.C. They are Didier it’s
Y foodies, and they loved the shrimp and grits, the oysters, handcrafted cocktails, and the atmosphere. Our server was phenomenal. It was a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season!
