Urban Grub Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was cold and the server was icy. As soon as he heard we just wanted to share appetizers, he was done providing quality service. We had to wave him down to order additional drinks and food numerous times. The duck prosciutto was very chewy. The apple tart dessert has so much cheese on it, it’s gross.
Outside and in the Place has a really modern rustic feel to it. This goes to the food as well. All the dishes we had took comfort food and put a modern twist on it. The flavors were excellent and they have a good selection of wine craft beers. It’s loud inside, which gives it a lively neighborhood eatery feel to it. This was our first time eating here and we will definitely be back.
i was SOOO Disappointed. I have dinner and special occasions here often and the one time I bring an Out of town guest, we did not receive appetizers or drinks for at least 45 minutes. Dinner was not prepared in the normal exceptional way, but grits were mushy in the famous Shrimp and Grits, the Flounder was so-so. We were told there was new staff in the kitchen. Just a bad experience here. Not what I am used to from their restaurant. I am skeptical about returning
Halibut was great, $36.00 small piece halibut and two asparagus. Rest of dinners were less costly. Ribs were dry. Vegetables were great. Slightly noisy. Bar was nice but noisy. Moved to dining area for dinner. Great service from hostess/waiter etc. Would go back. College area. Busy, reservations suggested.
Sat at the bar with Zach made us some great margaritas . Had the charcuterie broad with several house cured meats , picked veggies which was excellent . Shrimp and grits were amazing they stone mill their own corn daily and fly in gulf shrimp , with their own andouille sausage wow! Also had an aged New York steak that was cooked to perfection . The staff were all great too but especially Zach who was super knowledgeable about the drinks and food menu.
My new favorite in Nashville for sure! The drinks were divine and grouper amazing ! Presentation is so inviting and we sat next to an elevated fireplace which added to the ambiance. Makes me wish I lived here again and each time we travel from Germantown will be on the list. Enjoy!

The restaurant had something for everyone. The pork chop was delicious, as was the salmon. The charcuterie offering was good, but didn't seem worth the money. I would skip it next time. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive. The appetizers came out a little too quickly, but then the meal was slowed down to a better pace. I would return again.
Had Urban Grub recommended for NYE dinner while in Nashville, and enjoyed a very diverse and unique pre fixe menu for the evening. Great service, very attentive to our needs, and an incredible meal. The kind of place that clearly has its following and new disciples found every day. A very, very good place.
Still my favorite go to place for Sunday brunch in Nashville. Booked on Open Table and they honored my request for our favorite waiter -James! As we were having brunch on New Years Eve day with our two married children and spouses ( all who have been here with us before) it was a welcome surprise when James greeted while we were waiting to be seated! Food was wonderful as usual... love their complimentary muffins and biscuits. Only minor negative was that the two men said the Waffles on their chicken and waffles were smaller than they remembered- how hard is it to give a generous waffle😳 ? Thank you Urban Grub and James for such a great to our New Year’s Eve festivities! We will be back -but pleas make your waffles bigger -it’s just batter!
We had two servers. I can’t remember the young lady’s name but the others was Todd. They were both very knowledgeable of the wine list and helpful with finding something to accommodate our pescatarian diet. They sat us at a two seater by the fire in a very intimate part of the restaurant. I was a little under the weather and lost all sense of taste. Unfortunately couldn’t vouch for the fresh food. I ate most warmed up at home. But ill definitely return. I had an amazing experience.
