Urban Grub is a casual fine dining bar and eatery located in a renovated carwash in Nashville’s iconic 12 South district.

The design of the restaurant features a rustic elegance, filled with custom woodwork, stone fireplaces and rounded booths tucked in intimate corners. Urban Grub offers both indoor and outdoor seating with a combination of the two in the beer garden, accompanied a view of the restaurant’s meat curing room, as well as a covered gazebo for larger parties.

Came for my birthday dinner, urban grub never disappoints us! It’s one of our go to restaurants. The steak was delicious, Brussel sprouts were amazing, got a little chocolate treat for my birthday, all around great!

We made a reservation based on an online search and we liked their menu offerings. Everyone we talked to in Nashville said we had made a great choice. When we finally went, Urban Grub definitely lived up to the hype. The food and service were amazing. It has an extensive wine list with some great options. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and the servings were large. We loved everything about this place and would HIGHLY recommend it to all! Definitely check this place out!

I ordered the 7oz steak, medium. It came out clearly closer to medium rare or rare. The restaurant offered to make me another to go so I agreed. They charged full price for the first one and nothing for the second. Sadly, the second one was a little more rare than the first. Two steaks in a row tells me the chef didn’t make a mistake, just simply cannot cook a steak to the requested temp.

Preface: I was a brunch regular (2x/month) here before the pandemic. This was only my 4-5 visit in the past 2yrs. Today was an off day. I brought 2 first timers in for brunch, and our server didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the menu. The lack of explanation of certain dishes discouraged them from being adventurous when ordering. Drinks: Water, iced tea, Trap Queen cocktail (not worth reordering) We ordered crab beignets (crab cake balls, NOT BEIGNETS!) for an appetizer. Entrees: Chicken & waffles (fried chicken thigh on top of half of a waffle) seriously, not a whole waffle. Strawberry French toast (faily good) Brunch bar (no longer serving crab legs, and the shrimp and grits are cooked separately now. Lower quality shrimp, and grits are not as smooth and creamy as they were). The bar attendant was very helpful and accommodating. Overall, there is a noticeable decline in quality and value for a $140 plus tip brunch.

We had such a fun evening at Urban Grub. Most of that is because of our waiter, Victor. Ask for him. The food was super. Huge portions. We started with oysters. I had Oysters Rockefeller which were prepared to perfection. A couple of people in our party got raw oysters, and they said they were great. Our entrees were all excellent. We got Muchos Chocolates and the banana pudding pie for dessert. Four of us ate the two desserts, and there were leftovers. They were wonderful. I could make a meal on the oysters and dessert. Looking forward to going back soon!

One of Nashville’s gems! The food is always excellent! Among our table we got- 3 appetizers: Brussels; Peel & eat shrimp and Crab Beignets- all amazing! Popovers and homemade biscuits definitely never disappoint. Ribeyes were amazing, steak and biscuits great, hamburger was awesome, Shrimp and Grits top notch. Service was very good and all of us had a wonderful time!

Our food and cocktails were amazing, as always! We dined on the patio and I think that may have been why our service left a lot to be desired, out of sight out of mind… we finished our meal and it was about 15-20 minutes before we saw our waitress again. We had planned on ordering dessert but at that point it was nearly 9pm and we were just ready to go.

I ordered the sea scallops, which were overcooked and extremely salty. The side on those was not good either. My friend's steak and twice baked was good. Overall, not worth the money.

Service from the kitchen was slow. We were a party of four and my husband had to wait for his food while the three of us had ours for almost 15 minutes. No acknowledgment from management that that had happened. Very disappointing for a more upscale restaurant. Overall experience was okay but not great.

Perfect! Even on a busy Mothers Day crowd everything was sooo Perfect!! Very accommodating when I needed 2 extra seats for last minute people joining us. Food was delicious our waiter was always there for us and very helpful with our food selections! We absolutely had the best time and Thank you all for a special special day! I was blown away. Food and service was amazing. The waiters seemed excited at improvising a mock tail for my pregnant girlfriend rather than annoyed by an extra request. Made us feel right at home. Food portions are crazy, absolutely feel like we got our moneys worth since we ate leftovers for the next two days! The single best restaurant in Nashville.
