Nice consistent dining experience
What a wonderful experience! We visited several museums in Philly and wanted to find a great Brunch place within walking distance where we parked our car. Low and behold - within 1 block of the museum - we found it at the Urban Farmer.
Great food choices! Excellent service! Fantastic, unique drinks!
We’ll be sure to visit again in the spring/summer/fall when the outside dining is in full swing.
This was our third time trying to find a way to like Urban Farmer but it was still a miss. We went for a weekend menu a la carte brunch menu. Start off by saying if you have any sort of food allergy don’t bother going; each time we’ve been told by servers that items with common allergen were the only option. For example, a brunch sweet roll with pecans (but allergen) was only option for trying their sweet rolls (no plain offering and no other items to substitute as a similar offer). As an isolated item that may not seem bad, however several of the most basic breakfast/brunch items all contain nuts (I.e waffles had nuts baked into batter, etc). It really limited the options significantly. As for the items we did sample, the avocado Benedict, short rib hash, and steak and eggs were all void of any flavor - zero. The biscuits with gravy were pasty (hey chef cook the rue first to get rid of that nasty flour flavor) and bland (salt is more than a four letter word; try it some time). The best thing we had was the side of bacon. The Bloody Mary was decent so that’s a plus. I so want to love this place (so much so that I’ve given it three chances) but it continues to disappoint. Can’t recommend for anything more than a cocktail if you happen to be staying at the adjacent Logan Hotel. There’s far too many great restaurants in Philly to waste time here.
Great service however the food was just okay- we enjoyed the atmosphere and our server Coleen was wonderful-
A really great experience from beginning to end. Everything was wonderfully prepared and the staff was incredibly accommodating.
Very disappointing experience. The venue is fabulous, especially the various bars. Food quality is very mediocre and the service extremely slow and inattentive.
As always the experience is unique and fabulous. The food, service, and ambience is amazing.
I love cheese and Ally makes is a great experience.
Only complaint was loud pop music background, which hardly enhanced the ambience or the excellent food.
Great overall experience! Thanks!!!
Excellent as always! There are many good restaurants in Philadelphia but it’s difficult to find one that is a great place to meet for a business meal. The tables are not on top of each other and it’s not so loud that you feel like you have to scream to be heard. It’s my go to restaurant! Service is always excellent!!!
Great location for a day in Philly to shop or see the museums. We went for brunch and it was terrific! The atmosphere is lovely and modern, and the food is very good! the service was outstanding. Highly recommend!
Steak was great but the service was super sow
Urban farmer is currently my favorite steak in Philadelphia. I've been a few times now and every time I've gone it's been excellent. In terms of the service, the food, everything. It's a bit more casual than the other fancy steak houses in the city, but no less good.
Fantastic food and service. Will definitely be visiting again.
We celebrated my boyfriends birthday. The bar was great. Drinks fantastic.
We sat in a booth that was relatively quiet. We could hear a table next to us.
The food was amazing.
We would return without hesitation.
Next time dinner would be at the bar. Drinks sitting in rocking chairs or a comfy seat!
The food we had for brunch was amazing! The cinnamon rolls were divine. The hash my husband had was the best he had ever had! The homemade English muffin with eggs and bacon and a crispy potato were absolutely delicious. On top of that, the service was the kind you would expect in a much fancier restaurant. The wait staff was perfect!
My friend and I had a lovely lunch the other day. She requires gluten free food and there were several good options and the staff understood how important it was to deal with their special needs. My New England clam chowder was perfect with lots of plump tasty clams in a classic basic milk broth with just the right balance of luscious bacon. Vegans, gluten allergee folks and ominivores can all rejoice at this spot
I took my partner here for our anniversary and they made the experience so incredibly special. Amazing menu and the best service I've ever had!
We went here on 1/1/19 and were surprised with a view of the Mummers! So super fun, the food was great and our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. A little pricey but expected since it’s in museum area.
Hard to appreciate objectively as I am used to the 4 Seasons here. This is a pleasant but somewhat formulaic restaurant. Go if you like steak, our steak was good. The bread was good. The "cauliflower steak" was not good, it was almost raw and had little flavor. That needs a lot of work. The staff is very nice.
The aged NY strip 18 oz for 59 was terrible....I mean terrible. To serve it on such an empty plate was embarrassing.
Enjoyable food and staff! We particularly loved the cheese tray!
I had a grass fed fillet. The flavor was good but texture dry and tough.
Everything about this establishment was incredible. I couldn't stop looking at the decor. The different styles and textures... it was truly "urban farmstyle". Our server (Byron) was upbeat and knowledgeable. He talked me through the wine selections with such interesting details. I chose a few adjectives and he brought back the perfect wine based on our conversation. I truly hope I get back to Philadelphia again in the near future to visit again. The only "downside" would be the hit it took on the wallet.... but we also knew that going into it, a large bill is just always surprising.
Terrific restaurant for a special meal. Excellent choice for this past New Year's Eve. Wonderful selection of steaks.
We had such a great time from the moment we walked in the door! Our seat was right in the middle of everything for great people-watching, and our waiter was really entertaining. The manager came by to check on us, too, and we were happy to report that our meal was outstanding. The thick slabs of bacon with bacon jam - to die for! I had the French toast with hazelnut butter and cranberry compote, and my husband had the short rib hash. Fantastic spicy bloody Mary topped it off just right. Perfect meal all around.
Nice place. For the price food was marginal.
Great Holiday Brunch with my family. Nice ambiance, delicious food, great service.
Our first time here and we enjoyed a very good brunch. The food was fresh and was well-presented on the plates. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout most of the meal (aside from near the end, which is never easy when dining with children). Steak and eggs were fantastic and the homemade English muffin and preserves were amazing. Cocktails were delicious and unique enough to warrant the price level. The only disappointment was ordering the short rib hash and at least a third of it being mushrooms, which were not listed on the menu as an ingredient. In fact, potatoes were scantly found in the dish, which I would assume to be a primary ingredient in a hash. As someone who does not like mushrooms much, this was a big miss for me as I looked forward to ordering the hash since I read it on the menu when booking my reservation,
Great food and service! Pricey but worth it.
Great date night. The service was wonderful, and the server made my fiancé's birthday very memorable.
You can spend the same money or less and get better steaks drinks and sides. And have as good or better ambiance. Service was good though.
Urban Farmer was a great end to a great day with my husband. We arrived early and they were able to seat us right away. Portions were more than I could eat so come with an appetite. The only thing that struck me as odd is after our dinner was done we were not offered after dinner drinks or dessert. We were just given the check. They weren’t busy and certainly didn’t need the table so I’m not sure what happened there.
Everything is scratch made in house, including the charcuterie and sausage. Drinks, sauces, and all meals were balanced in flavor, not too heavy or salty. The presentation is beautiful and the staff is energetic and friendly.
Granted, it was Christmas Day and restaurants aren't at their finest. BUT $56 for an entree it better be great. I started with beef tartare which was pretty good, albeit oily. My wife loved her salad. I ordered a prime rib which was supposed to be fry aged and crusted. At first my Medium rare arrived close to well done, upon sending it back the second slice i got was Medium with no discernible crust, seasoning and definitely NOT dry aged. My wife had King Crab legs, but at $44 the portion was quite meager, but enough for her. In all fairness, management did bring out the second prime rib and comp a round of drinks. The server could not have been nicer. This is probably one of the pricier places in town, be prepared!
We ate here three times during our stay at the Logan. It was excellent each time, but the real stand-out meal was brunch. Phenomenal food and service! We will definitely be back!
The steak tasting menu including wagyu was not butchered well and was stringy. Rib eye was excellent. Seafood tower Bad steak tartare was also good.
I asked for prime rib end cut I was assured they had it,but when it came to my table it was just a regular piece of prime rib that they put on the grill and tried to make it look like an end cut. I don’t like being lied to.
We went on Christmas Eve and they had a “special menu” —limited and not so special. Atmosphere was edgy and music was jarring. Also it was very drafty and staff seemed indifferent to making us more comfortable. I will not be back.
