It was 100% empty
We have been here before and LOVED the experience completely. This was not a good visit. The server was off and really not experienced for this position. Drink orders came in various steps, appetizer dishes never cleared from table, overall slow service and our order was not correct when delivered. The manager who came to our table was very dismissive and didn’t seem interested. She basically walked to the table and said we’re just comping you’re meal..sorry. As I shared we have loved this place in the past and had impressive service and experiences. We later found out the the restaurant has filed bankruptcy and a lot of their better experienced staff left. This explained a lot.
Mediocre is the best way to describe this place. We were literally the only table in there. The server really put an effort but it was amazing how long it took to get stuffed mushrooms. We had one appetizer and two entrées two glasses of wine each tab was $200. I’m not against paying a high price for a special meal, but the food was lackluster. There are plenty of restaurants nearby that put this place to shame. Pass
Love this place!!
For our NYE dinner, the pre fixe meal was above and beyond expectations. The value in the 4 courses was evident from the start when an amuse bouche brought to the table, and it only got better from there. The live music in the lounge set the tone for the evening, and despite sometimes being a little loud to combat the diners' conversations, it was lovely. Our server, Gabriel, was attentive, lively, prompt, and generous with this time and recommendations, for which we are very grateful. Making a New Year's Eve reservation was never easier.
We had New Year’s Eve dinner, nobody brought us water or bread until we asked for it. Waited for our food for 1.5 hour, then finally
They brought my steak COLD! never again! Happy new year and good luck to
Those who want to dine there!
New Year's Eve dinner. Horrible service. Never put the plate in front of correct person. Slow as molasses. Ran out of chicken dish before 8pm. Note, only 6 choices on menu. Thank God I didn't order chicken. Water glass always empty. For over $100 a person a very bad deal. Managers working harder than wait staff, I'll give them that. Once again our server didn't even know what she was serving.
We had a nice Christmas evening dinner. Only thing there was molt in the raspberries, which we noticed. Manager quickly made a new desert.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, wonderful ambience. The food was decent, nothing spectacular but moderately priced. They seemed to be constantly out of different items, and the bartender had trouble making very simple drinks. Staff was kind, but seemed inexperienced and easily confused.
atmosphere was great. Food was variable. Ordered an expensive bottle of wine. They were out and brought a substitute bottle saying “it cost $100 more, but we’ll give it to you for same price.” In fact it was a bottle that did not cost as much nor was it as good.
the waiter was hard to catch and poorly informed about the food. We have to call him several times and when finally came to the table looked in a hurry to leave. The food was Ok, not outstanding , but in general the palace is good. Don't know how to make a good mojito,a very popular drink nowadays .
They were out of a lot the menu, and the food we did get was very mediocre.
We really enjoyed our meal and the service from Gabriel was outstanding. The beets and burrata salad was well balanced and plentiful. The salmon entree was cooked to perfection and the couscous accompaniment had just the right consistency to complement the salmon. The chocolate/peanut butter dessert was the most elegant version of a peanut butter cup ever! We will go back!
Thanksgiving meal for $55 a person I don’t expect dry turkey and luke warm food!
We walked in and the music was so loud you couldn’t talk with each other at the table. After requesting the music to be turned down twice it finally happened. I knew something wasn’t right when there was only 4 other people in the restaurant at 6 pm.
I understand you have a limited menu but there was no options for a steak only prime rib-cooked medium rare!
Mashed potatoes and gravy was luke warm but you had to use it to cover up the dryness of the turkey. Please ask people if they prefer white, dark, or combo of meat.
The dinner was horrible and I blame the cook! Our server was great and very accommodating!
You know something is wrong when it was the only restaurant on Open Table available for a 6 pm reservation two weeks in advance and one hour in advance!
Nope, will not revisit this restaurant ever again. Sorry
The food was a little salty and a few of our favorites are no longer on the menu. There was also no catch of the day. We were celebrating a birthday. We appreciated the complimentary dessert for the birthday girl but were disappointed there was no candle or special birthday touch.
Enjoyed our dining experience...and the band/dancing was an added bonus
This is probably the worst restaurant I have been to in quite some time. I don't know if they changed ownership or if there is some other excuse as to why this was so incredibly bad.
Everything the table ordered, except for one or maybe two dishes were not good. My steak was over cooked. The food quality was at best cafeteria like. The pastas the table ordered were terrible. The Mac and cheese... how can I put this... tasted like bottom shelf microwaved mac and cheese. Worse than anything you would have eaten at some hole in the wall in college. No one ate a second bite. The lamb pasta... was bland. The lamb in it was flavorless. And this was the "recommended" plate. There is pretty much nothing I could say about this place that was good (except for maybe the decor). We were basically the only party seated for dinner, except for those who were seated in the private room, in the restaurant. The service was still slow. I usually don't review places because sometimes it feels like "tattling" and honestly even the best restaurants can have a bad day or maybe you just ordered the wrong dish. This was a different level of bad. I was kind of shocked by how terrible literally every aspect of our experience was that I have to warn others away. Don't waste your money.
You'd be better off going to an Olive Garden or staying at home.
The food was awesome and our server Gabriel was amazing. He was on top of everything, knows his wine selection and what pairs with what.
The restaurant was completely empty when we got there at 7:00pm. When we were greeted by the waitress, half of the items on the menu weren't available, which was strange. One of the reasons we picked the restaurant was because online reviews stated that the chef would come to the table and speak with the kids to see what they like and would make them a personalized dinner. This didn't happen, and again we were the only patrons in the place. All that was offered for the kids was mac and cheese, chicken, or a flatbread. Once we got our food, it was excellent. The Caesar salads are probably the best I've ever eaten. The Cacio e Pepe was absolutely delicious. It was just very strange that half of the proteins offered on the menu weren't actually available.
Great food and competent friendly service.
The food was very disappointing; to the point where my brother had a steak come out medium well, when he ordered it medium rare, he then sent it back and specified to the waitress to tell the chefs to take their time and not rush it out of the kitchen. It came back Pittsburgh or Blue rare, where one side received a hard sear, one got a light sear and that was it. Completely raw in most of the steak. And the things that came out fully cooked were not very good, other than the outlier of the short rib. The ambiance was very nice, with the band being fantastic. Though the best part of the whole experience was definitely the service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and overall very helpful. Though the restaurant had 2 saving graces, they are no where near enough to make the cost of Urbain 40 worth it.
All seafood entrees on the menu were “out”.
Incredible place, food is very tasty and the service friendly. Also I love the music
We really didn't like the meals that much. The cast iron mussels were too fishy. The sherry in the french soup wasn't for our taste. The cacio and pepe pasta was ok, but kind of had no taste, needed salt.
Loved the ambiance. Hostess and waiter were both great. Food was very average. Pasta and salmon underwhelmed.
Food was delicious. Our server Gabriel was excellent.
Joshua is one of the best servers I have had! Great food and awesome service.
I made a reservation for a small group (7) to celebrate my birthday. It was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had and it ruined my night.
I checked in at the time of my reservation and was seated quickly, although the restaurant was empty so that’s not surprising. I was happy to see that they had the table set up and even gave me a rose for my birthday. That was a lovely touch but the positive comments end there. Here’s what happened after:
•My fiancé ordered a scotch but was told they had only one out of the 20 something scotches on the menu. He said he’d look over and pick another cocktail but the waiter never returned to get his order.
•Other than the drinks we ordered and one basket of bread, there was nothing brought to our table for TWO HOURS.
•After about 1.5 hours my one friend inquired and the waiter, un-empathetically, said that there was another big table. Seeing as the restaurant was not even half full on a Friday night, I didn’t understand how this explained the lack of service. Another 15 minutes went by and another friend approached the hostess stand and requested a manager. The manager came over and apologized, she was sincere and understanding. Shortly after we got our soups/salads, although two of the salads were undressed and we had to request dressing for them.
•Another 20-30 minutes or so goes by and after my friends continued complaints, we got our meals. The steaks were rarer than we ordered however most of us were so hungry that we didn’t care. Although my one friend can’t eat rare meat and had to send hers back.
•After eating dinner it took another length of time for the desserts and the creme brûlée was very runny.
•The manager kept coming back to check on us but the food didn’t seem to come out any quicker. She comped our drinks and sides and my one friends steak that had to be sent back which was a nice gesture. However my fiancé paid for our meals which didn't sit right with me after our experience.
Server was good, personable, apologetic. Bar service was atrocious. Slugs were behind the bar. We ended up canceling our second drink
It was my birthday and other than saying happy birthday numerous times they did nothing. The place was very uncrowded for a Saturday night and yet our service was slow and not on top of clearing before the next course and we were helping to juggle the plates. Not what you expect at this price point.
Expected live music in lounge as their website mentions, but that hasn't happened for months. Disappointment. Last year here my birthday was great, so made a point to return. Not again.
Wonderful restaurant experience while staying over in Orlando. In beautiful Dellagio the restaurant was absolutely stunning. We had impeccable service and outstanding food . The chef even stopped by our table to introduce himself. If you are looking for a great meal this ones a winner!
We enjoy dining at Urbain 40, but this time the service was very slow and the restaurant was empty. Server was pleasant and friendly and did a nice job, but food was really slow coming out of the kitchen. We were seated at a table that wasn’t completely set and we had to ask for various pieces of cutlery as well as napkins. Food tasted very good, but everything including getting the check was SLOW. The only other table in the restaurant was having a similar experience.
Hard to believe the restaurant was out of all Cabernet and our choice of Sauvignon Blanc. Food was good, but too bad the wine to accompany it was not there. Server said they were changing wine lists - sounds like they are going out of business.
Dfinitely the best in town!!
The food is magic and the staff are magicians.
This is a beautiful place! Love the design!!
Good food, simple menu, nice for a romantic dinner
Not the same restaurant. Menu has changed miss some of my favorites. Dinner came out one at a time one dinner the filet was raw had to go back so the rest of us were dove before he got his meal. The restaurant was also very warm could not wait to get out of there. Won’t be returning!
The grilled steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful.
My husband and I have dined at Urbain 40 quite a few times. Each time the food and presentation has been wonderful. Lately we have gone there for their 5-7 pm Happy Hour and have never been disappointed. The mussels, sliders and shrimp/grits are delicious! The presentation is lovely as well. We dine on their patio and sometimes bar/lounge area. Their food is fresh, always cooked just right and their desserts are yummy. It is a hidden gem. I highly recommend you try it for dining or Happy Hour.
Amazing staff, amazing food, wish we lived closer!!!
