Uptown Cafe - Louisville
We know we won’t be disappointed at the Uptown. Love the setting, service, staff, and food.
We had a wonderful evening. The food and service was excellent.
Uptown is your go to restaurant when guests come to town. Don't even try to get a better meal!
The food was old and cold.
The waitress was spectacular.
Once I got into the restaurant, everything was excellent! Parking was a nightmare though! I’m a stroke survivor and was attempting to find a spot that didn’t require a long walk. Many of the spots in the parking lot are reserved.
Atmosphere A, service B+, appetizer A, entree D
Our appetizer was the tomatillo queso which was the highlight of the meal. For dinner, we had the fusilli pasta with scallops... the sauce was bland and the scallops were overdone, rubbery and dry; a very disappointing meal. Have had this same dish many times before, and it was always delicious. The chef definitely dropped the spatula this time!
Great as always!
Excellent. We are out of town, visiting Louisville for the art show. Found the restaurant via Open Table. Enjoyed everything! Delicious food, good portions, fair prices. We will come back:
We went to celebrate a coworker's birthday. The food was DELICIOUS and our server was great!!
Wonderful Highlands restaurant. Good for dining with your mate, family, or friends. Always friendly and professional staff and tasty food. And you can people watch from one of several tables next to the large windows next to Bardstown Road.
Great value in going early—before the dinner rush. Food was outstanding! Service as well! We will
Be returning soon.
Perfect for our needs. Love the small plates options on some of the dishes.
60th birthday of my college roommate! Food, wine and dessert were fabulous.
Our dinner and service were not as good as usual. The back room was very noisy and we were visiting with friends from out of town. Hard to talk when it’s so loud. Service was more nonchalant than attentive and even the food was not as good as we normally experience. The Uptown is one of our “go to” spots, so we felt a little let down - especially since we were entertaining dear friends.
Dinner was delicious. Service attentive. We will be back!
One of THE Beat neighborhood Resturants in Louisville.
Kelly, and Her staff are so helpful with their menu, With daily soups, and specials, Explanations are
great help. The Food is always an A+ Service A+
Anytime we take new friends, They can't wait to go back.
The dining room was to warm. Waited over 90 minutes for dinner to be served and was over done. I asked to speak to the manager and was told there was no manager on site and a could talk to somebody on Monday. They gave us a free dessert
Marc, thank you so much for your recent visit to Uptown Cafe. We deeply regret that it was not a positive one. Experiences like your visit are an extreme rarity and we do apologize. It is always our goal to give all our guests the best experience possible.
We had a group of 9 for dinner. Most of us were from out of town and the owner of our rental house suggested that it would be an upscale place with great food that was not too noisy, so that we could hear the conversation. All of the above were true! Everyone raved about the food and we were able to enjoy our visit without being rushed. Highly recommended!
Our food was delish, service was great, we all enjoyed our time at the Cafe. My only complaint was when our server returned my change of $6.00 from my bill of $14.26, to which I gave him $20.26 he asked me if I wanted my change back!!! I think that is so rude of any server. I did give him a $3.00 tip, but I did think long and hard about that amount. No way was his service worth 40% tip. This won't keep us from coming back to the Uptown Cafe but we all agreed this was rude and unacceptable!!!
This was the first time I have been to Uptown Cafe. The service was friendly and accurate. Food was served just as it was ordered. The people in my party all said their food was delicious.
The atmosphere was quiet so that you could have a conversation without shouting or having to repeat what you said so the others could hear you.
Definitively a place to do repeat business.
Very good food in a friendly, casual atmosphere.
This is a wonderful Highlands restaurant gem. People watch as you dine. Delicious food and plenty of choices to choose from.
Great food and service
Consistently great service and cuisine as always. Nice outdoor dining
Uptown Cafe always meets or exceeds our expectations for a wide selection of appetizers and entrees. It is especially a great value on Monday evenings with their 50% discount on all bottles of wine.
We recommend this Highlands location as a pleasing spot to meet other friends for a relaxing dinner, plus a decent bar scene. Enjoy!! We recommend "Roland" as an experienced server with a wealth of knowledge of the entrees and wine list.
Long time Highlands gem. Comfortable setting with most tables having view of Bardstown Road sidewalk traffic. Great food value for this type of restaurant.
We took my mom at for dinner, she arrived before we got there. The staff was so attentive. They helped her and her walker to a comfortable easily accessible table. They helped her choose a glass of wine, and made her feel so welcome.
Great food and ambience. Service could have been a little better. Apparently not a lot of servers there for lunch. Seemed like server would disappear for a while but then eventually come back.
Great place for a birthday dinner. Just enjoyed one that 3 generations thoroughly enjoyed. Always a winner!!
We like the ambiance of The Uptown whether its sitting by the windows that face Bardstown Road or dining alfresco on the patio.
Our meal this past Friday was average at best; the tofu was hard as a rock and the hamburger was not fully cooked. We questioned the waiter thinking they had changed the way they prepare the tofu and were told it’s been prepared this way for years-Somehow we remember it being easy to chew And much more pleasant to digest. The best part of the meal, the french fries! We opted Not to have dessert because we did not want to be disappointed in what we remember as being so yummy.
One of my favorite restaurants in louisville.
We brought family from NY, California and Washington for dinner and they loved it!
We usually have very good service at Uptown Cafe. As soon as we were seated, we were served water and bread basket. We needed a few minutes to look at the menu and our waiter needed to be flagged down to come to our table and then it took a while to get our food. When it did arrive, it was delicious. Two of us got the shrimp and couscous and my husband really likes the Jaegerschnitzel. The people at the table next to us arrived after we did but finished their meal and left before we were served. Hoping just an off night because we really like Uptown Cafe.
Had a late lunch with several relatives and only the bartender was providing service, but he did an excellent job. Food was great and enjoyed our food & drinks.
We love the Uptown! The food is always delicious, the service warm and knowledgeable and the art work is stunning! We had our wedding dinner there with family and the menu/atmosphere was perfect for our guests of all ages. Don’t skip the black bean cake appetizer or linguine with sesame chicken!
So many wonderful things to choose from. Everything on the menu looks delicious.
Very friendly staff and a really nice menu. It is not a flashy venue but I would certainly go back as I had a very pleasant experience.
Always enjoy this place. They have something for everyone from small plates or salads to entres.
Server was a little slow in getting our drinks and our salads to us; dinner came while we were still eating our salads
I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday. We were both happy with the food and service.
