Uptown Cafe - Louisville
Always love the Uptown! Food and service are always great!
I don’t personally think the food is as great as the reviews.
I made a reservation for my mom myself and my 2 sisters for Mother’s Day. I was looking for something really quaint semi upscale with a nice ambience for our mom to experience something different. We had a nice table by the window. The menu had a nice variety and we were all very pleased with our lunch choices. The food was hot and very delicious and came to us in a very timely manner. The wait staff was amazing. They were very attentive and were never far away if we needed something. They were always right there in the dining room. We had a very nice lunch and will come again.
Great staff and awesome food. winter was knowledgeable and friendly, everyone enjoyed their food.
Only complaint is nit picky but staff was a little too eager to remove plates and glasses that were used, swooped in a couple of times we weren’t ready.
My wife and I dined after the derby. Everything was excellent... amazing food... friendly and attentive staff... we will return when we are in Louisville again...
Great food, great drinks, and terrific service provided a memorable dining experience.
We go to the KD every year. Our Friday dinner has been at the Uptown for the last 10 years. It never disappoints. This year was no exception. We will be back at the Uptown next year during Derby weekend
Had a friend in town. Took him to Uptown for dinner. Food always good and service is great.
Our favorite spot for well prepared cuisine!
Smoked shrimp appetizer was amazing. Dinner was wonderful. Nice quaint place to eat. Service very attentive.
We did notice a reduction in portions over the past few visits. Particularly with the salmon croquettes. Seems like they’re making them about 25% smaller now and charging the same price.
The poached eggs and ham on the lunch menu was excellent. The rich mornay sauce was the perfect complement to the salty fried ham and creamy eggs, perfectly poached, of course. Perfectly delicious.
Great food! Service was a bit slow, but it was very busy.
Great spot for lunch or dinner. We are always looking forward to our next visit to the Uptown.
Always enjoyable to dine at Uptown. Good food, good service. Not a ton of vegetarian options, but the ones they offer are really good. Nice wine list as well.
Our server Tyler was excellent Would come back just for the great service
Always excellent!! Our favorite go to in Louisville...
We had a great lunch and outstanding food. The service was perfect! The salmon was perfectly prepared and so flavorful!
Uptown is always a great choice. If you need a place to sit and talk, ask for a booth in the back! Want to watch the Bardstown Road feast, opt for a table by the front windows. Got a group? Can’t beat a long table in the middle room. Want to who’s coming and going? Bar tables are the way to go. It’s all Good!!!
Great food, great service!
My husband and I love the Uptown. We go for special occasions and always have a wonderful time. I introduced two of my friends to the Uptown and they loved it. We also go to the Uptown when we want to relax. We know our food will be fabulous.
One of our Louisville favorites ❤️
Good food served with a generous portion at a good value.
Solid. Do not frequent Uptown on a regular basis, but when I do, service, food, and signature cocktails are always good. Dinner last week with family and friends was no exception. May not be the best restaurant in Louisville, but I always enjoy the dining experience and will continue to keep them in my rotation.
Always a delight
First time! Very nice!
We have always enjoyed dining at the Uptown. Consistent excellent service with very good food. Menu items are varied enough to give everyone something to choose from. Wine list is adequate and mixed drinks are tasty in choices. We will certainly continue to dine here. Bardstown Road is indeed a busy street and if I had one issue it would be driving and parking along this busy corridor.
Great evening to be out. The onion rings as the appetizer were outstanding. My guest and I shared the chicken piccata, which is large enough for us to have a generous portion. We had the vanilla cheesecake, which was fine, fruit topping would have made it better or more whipped topping. Our bar drinks were delicious and had generous pours of the bourbon.
My group of four enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Uptown Cafe yesterday. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. I have been to Uptown Café many times over the years and have never been disappointed. I would happily recommend it to anyone for lunch or dinner.
Superior service, great menu, cool ambience!
Great as always!
I love going to Uptown because it is not loud. My mother is in her 70s and has a a difficult time at most restaurants because they are too loud. It is so nice to find a place that is actually quiet. It's not sleepy or boring. The salmon cakes were dry. My salad with salmon was delicious and hearty. Wine prices are reasonable. Service is great. They refill the waters frequently and our server was very attentive.
We love Uptown. Friends were visiting from Europe and they wanted to return to Uptown. They are former Louisvillians. We had a wonderful time. All our meals were great.
You can't beat Uptown's 50% off on bottles of wine on Monday nights. That bonus plus great homemade soups and salads always brings us back with a couple of friends. Our recent visit consisted of sharing grilled salmon, oysters Casino and special Cajun corn chowder...Yum!!
Our friends shared a Brie and apple appetizer, plus a chicken piccata that they raved about. We topped off our evening sharing two of their homemade desserts. Will be back soon.
Great dinner excellent food, amazing service- Uptown is now at the top of our list.
Loved the jagger schnitzel and signature cocktails!!!
We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. Love coming to the Uptown for a good meal.
After 30+ years of living in Louisville, I finally ate at Uptown. Truly, I've missed too much great food! Due to restricted times for reservations, my husband and I went to dinner at 5:30, rather than 6:30. When we arrived many tables were open. Rather than taking us to a window table, we were given one near the main walkway between rooms, my chair being directly underneath a coat hook, upon which a short coat was hanging. When I hesitated, we were told that the other tables had been reserved. However, 90 minutes later, they remained empty. That's my ONLY complaint... but it did affect how much I enjoyed myself.
The drinks were great and the food even better. My grilled shrimp on curried couscous was tender, tasty and just the right size. My husband's salad with grilled chicken was fresh, attractive and tasty as well. Also, there wasn't a TV in the dining area or loud music - something we really appreciated.
So - go to UPTOWN - enjoy the food - but do be a bit more demanding regarding tables. Although I'm not OCD, or anything, that hanging right over my shoulder did bother me given how nice the place is otherwise.
We were afraid that the Friday after Valentines Day would be hectic, but we had great service and the food was perfect.
