Upstream - Charlotte
Great dining! Marshall is awesome, and the manager, Jess, was very friendly. Thanks for another great dining experience!
Brunch value is worth it. All you can eat tasting menu.
Staff lacks knowledge of items as well as table numbers. We were constantly given other people’s food and our food was given away.
Lacks management and culture that it used to have.
Been a patron since it opened, consistent menu and service.
Food and service were excellent . Mixed drinks were not very good. Cost of wine by the bottle was overpriced
Great experience. Waiter was awesome!
Awesome food! Awesome service she was very informative and lovely. We didn’t feel rushed at all which was the best part. Thank you for a wonderful night
They forgot to put in my first round so my friend received two rounds before I got one. Then the waitress was very slow to come back around and told us that it was last call. Didn’t get the “unlimited” worth for my money.
Food was delicious but portions were small given the prices.
Our meal was excellent. The service was great and they were spot on with their recommendations.
We loved the sea bass and the baked oysters were incredible! However the calamari and the hamachi appetizers were not very good at all, unfortunately. We also had the king crab and sea scallop risotto, which was decent, but there literally was two tiny pieces of king crab in it. The pieces were so small that you could barely taste them. Overall was a decent experience, but we were left disappointed.
Eh. Steak was mediocre.
Food was amazing. Desert was not as good. Creme Brulee was not like their usual. Very thick (like there was an additive) and not creamy.
Delicious grouper. Amazing service.
The cuisine is very original. The “all you can get” sushi is a great deal and chocolate dessert is amazing. The waiter was excellent. Lovely place for a leisurely lunch.
The food and drinks are always super delicious! Our waiter Jason was great.
The manager was great ! Brought us wine because they were a few min behind ok reservations ! No one hardly does that these days !
Despite having reservations on a Saturday night, we had to wait a half hour for our table. We were given a free drink for the long wait which was very lovely and appreciated.
Our server was very nice but she was very busy and we had to look for her when we needed something( like bread after another long wait at our table. The entree for one of our group was already out for the evening by the time we got to order. Disappointing but I feel like management tried very hard to show their appreciation for our patronage. So, food was excellent, service spotty, pricey but house very accommodating. We really appreciated how hard they tried to acknowledge the difficulties...
Food was delicious. There was a mix up with the wine and the check. Waiter kept disappearing and telling us he was the New Guy. Well if the waiter isn't experienced enough to get things straight, management should let them work with someone experienced until they do. All in all a delightful evening, service was just a little off.
Upstream is BAACK and we are so excited. After a period of major menu and food changes, the old great gourmet and seafood restaurant has returned.
The food was awesome, great menu selection, great service.....some new very personable and professional wait staff are on board. The place was packed...people waiting at the door. The place was lively, happy and just a great dining experience. We can't wait to return!
The Chilean Seabass is awesome!!!
The Best Seafood Brunch in CHARLOTTE!!!! I am always stuff when I leave.
The food was great. The sauces, presentation and service were top notch. I had the salmon and my husband had the Chilean seabass. Everything in the menu looked good. I’m gluten free and they had several options. We both really enjoyed our dishes. My only criticism would be that the food wasn’t served hot. My biggest pet peeve when dining out. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our dinner. We will definitely return. Good food but a little pricey, not too much just a little.
Food has always been excellent in the many years I have been there. Was a very quiet nite there but could have been because it was a Monday
This was our first time trying Queen Restaurant week we are new to Charlotte. I'll put this in three categories:Service,
food, ambiance. The service was impeccable I wish I had taken the hostess name. I do remember he had a usual first name, I think he said he was Croatian. He was great. Now the food that was another story. Subpar steak very bland not seasoned well at all, my lobster was great but I guess you can't mess that up too much. Desserts where horrible, I had apple crisp with no crisp and hubby had tirmusi. which he didn't eat but several bites. Lastly ambiance was perfect for a evening date night. We hope that the food wasn't on point due to the high demands of restaurant week.
Great. Food was wonderful and the kind staff made the experience even better. There is complimentary valet here too which was nice
Not for intimate Dinner for sure. But it is still an awesome place to eat.
Great birthday celebration
Food was excellent. I was unaware that they participated in restaurant week, so there was more people than expected. Overall it was great and we will return.
Excellent first visit to Upstream! Food was amazing!
Awesome service and food for Queens Feast event. A little disappointed that the sea bass had a $15 supplemental charge compared to comparably priced entrees. Also, Upstream overprices their wine by the glass and bottle. Those negatives aside, it was the amazing meal for foodies. The roasted oysters and the mussel appetizers were terrific. Lobster, sea bass and steaks were cooked to perfection. Desserts were okay, but not prepared to the same level as the appetizers and entrees. Apple crisp lacked the “crisp” and tiramisu was not at the level that other restaurants prepare
We went for restaurant week. The menu was very wide in options. The only downside was the desert. It just wasnt up to the same standard as the starter and main.
Everything was amazing here! The service was perfect and the lobster and my date’s tuna steaks were SO good. I would definitely go back!
Service was excellent, especially given it was restaurant week. Ambiance is excellent and food is very good. Because it’s been around longer than other restaurants, I think ppl forget about it- but I would highly recommend it. Whole lobster on restaurant week menu- it was phenomenal!
Our waiter Levtka was fantastic! Pleasant, personable and so efficient!!
Overall this was a great experience. The food was of gourmet quality and gourmet portions. It’s restaurant week and a 1 lb Lobster was on the menu, which I chose. The lobster came with melted butter and another sauce made from butter and ginger...it was delish! 😀 My appetizer was 2 petite crab cakes which were quite good...but not quite Maryland good..for anyone that’s familiar with Maryland’s seafood (excuse me while I wipe my 👄) 😂 Moving on to dessert...I had the Tiramisu, with a cup of coffee...which was fabulous! Our waiter was very friendly and engaging. All and all it was a great evening! I highly recommend 😀
The staff was very kind and helpful. The lettuce wraps were excellent as well as the salmon. The dessert was very lackluster. It was supposed to be an apple crisp but it seemed to just be apples chopped up in a bowl with a tiny bit of sprinkle on top. That was pretty disappointing.
