Upstream Brewing Company - Old Market Ratings and Reviews
First my husband's salad was made wrong, then he requested no gravy on his pot roast and it came covered in gravy. Some one else other than our waiter brought out our meal. My salmon was raw in the middle. I requested it to be well done. We had to track down our waiter as he never came by to see how our food was. When I sent back my salmon, that came back hot but my side's were now cold! The waiter also never refilled our drink unless we asked. On our bill we were charged for another salad that we didn't get. It just seemed like it was one thing after another.
Had a gift certificate someone had given us so we used it and visited the Upstream prior to our evening at the Omaha Symphony. Made an online reservation which was fantastic! We walked in and were seated immediately! Always a great place to dine. Have never had a bad meal at the Upstream.
Were seated right on time per our reservation at a table comfortable enough for the six of us. Very attentive waitress who handmade the blue cheese olives for my martini. Great menu selection from economical to somewhat expensive. All food turned out at the same time and tasted very good. Will definitely go again when visiting Omaha.
We normally love Upstream Old Market, but if this were our first visit, we wouldn't be back. The waitress brought the wrong beer but never checked on us to see if everything was okay. She also delivered our food but never checked back to see if we needed anything else; she only asked if we were ready for some boxes. The only person who even spoke with us (beyond taking our orders and asking about the boxes) was a bartender (maybe?) who stopped by our table on his way to the kitchen with a rack full of glasses. Nothing bad enough to consult management about, but definitely bad enough to throw what should've been a pleasant anniversary evening off. I think we will seek other brewpubs in the future.
Sunday brunch was wonderful - we will definitely return! Many food items were served in small portions which made it easier to try everything, which you will want to do as they offer items that are different from other Sunday brunches. Great atmosphere and service.
Service was courteous and attentive. Food quality was average at best, ordered raspberry chicken and the pork sandwich. Hard to believe that from time of order to food on our table it seemed to be about 3 minutes. Not sure how they can prep this quickly without it being precooked. Pork sandwich was overlooked and dry. There are much better choices in the Old Market
The waiter warned us the kitchen was overwhelmed with food orders, and he was right- it did take a while to get our dinners. We had out-of-town guests who we thought would like the beer-- they did, but the restaurant was too noisy to have a conversation among the 4 of us.
My husband and I were in Omaha for a quick weekend get away. We love the Old Market. I picked the Upstream Brewing Company because I like comfort food and their menu had options I would like. The food was delicious and a great value. Our waiter was very friendly.
Jade was our server and she was great! It was a super busy Sunday night and she made us aware of how long it was taking food to come out immediately. We all greatly appreciated the honesty and she did a great job pacing our food out! We couldn't tell there was a timing issue but were happy with the heads up. All the food was delicious and drinks tasty. Totally forgot the kids desert but I guess that's ok.
Great place. They get absolute full credit for honoring the OpenTable reservation right at 7 pm on a busy Saturday night. Couple in front of us, w/o a reservation, were told it was a 90 minute wait. We were brought right to our table. I am a dedicated OpenTable fan. The food is much, much better than your average brew pub. And the beers were very good as well. Wish we were in Omaha more often; this would be a return visit.
We came to the restaurant and asked for a meal which was not on a dinner menu. Since we were very sad about that, our waitress asked to wait a little bit. In few minutes restaurant manager came and explained to us that he made a deal with chef to prepare this dish for us. Very pleasant surprise! Definitely you should try Reuben sandwich and Pretzel with cheese dip. Good and accurate recomendation for local beers.
Such a great experience at Upstream Brewing. Service was amazing and the food was great. My husband had a small concern with his meal but when he brought it to the servers attention, they immediately brought him a new meal and did not charge us for it. Definitely above and beyond if you ask me.
We ate here quite a few years ago and we were looking for a place to meet our son coming to Omaha from Lincoln (we came from Sioux Falls and ran across this place again! As wonderful as it was about 17 years ago! Brunch was very tasty-we won't wait so long to come back again!
The look and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and the service was excellent. So were the beers we had. My husband enjoyed his meal (falafel sandwich), but mine (pork schnitzel) was disappointing. Although the schnitzel itself was good, the "fresh seasonal vegetables" were clearly from a frozen or refrigerated vegetable combo package of some sort because I recognized the round-edged baby carrots. They lacked salt (or any flavor at all) and were mushy. I had expected a little more from a dish I paid $17 for. The kids' grilled cheese sandwiches were huge--both in amount of sandwich given and in tallness, so they had trouble fitting it in their mouths--and made with that plasticky "American" cheese, which is so gross that I couldn't bring myself to eat their leftovers. Good beer, not so good food. Too bad!
Our server wasn't very keen on what was going on. 3 out of 4 of us ordered a flight. 2 of us ordered flight of 4. That was fine. One of us ordered the 12 flight. She wasn't told they were out of 3 of the beers so she was only brought 9. She asked to comp the price to $9 instead of $12. Our server didn't even respond to that. We weren't super impressed with any of the beers except the wheat one and we're and craft brew kind of crew. One of the orders was wrong, but that was fixed within in a few minutes. The burgers were sub-par. The buns aren't toasted or anything, just a plain white bun. There wasn't a lot of flavor in the burgers themselves either. The fries were average, better than the burger at least. 2 people got pasta and they said it was about average. It wasn't really worth the price, in my opinion. I expected a little better quality. The atmosphere was spot on though. Very cool looking. We made our reservation and got seated exactly on time on a Saturday night. When we got our bill, the flight of 12 wasn't comped so we flagged a guy down and said that was no problem but did the math wrong and still overcharged. We won't be going back and wouldn't recommend it.
My husband loved his ribeye however my veggie burger was quite mushy. The fries were excellent. Would have liked to sit on main floor but upstairs was quite and the service was very good. Sat at the bar after dinner where the service and drinks were very good also.
I booked a reservation for 12 for my rehearsal dinner and everything went over smoothly. The only hiccup was the table wasn't ready until 8 minute post the time we reserved, but it's hard to predict when the table before yours will leave. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd highly recommend it for groups.
Great, trendy restaurant in old market district! Schnitzel and steak we're great, perfectly cooked (veggies a little undercooked for my taste). Mashed potatoes were awesome, but the highlight : the CHEESE CURDS with blackberry habanero sauce. Would come back for that alone!! Yum!
