I love Upstream! One of my favorites in the Old Market!
Our group was in town for a visit to Your Henry Doorly Zoo and 8 of us spent an extra night with us Upstream recommended to us. We were not disappointed at all and enjoyed you hospitality and good food.
We have always loved Upstream but during our most recent trip, we were astounded at how horrible the service has gotten. We were there for more than an hour waiting for 2 salads and 2 meals. Got their house salad which came missing half of the toppings, the portions of bread have been cut into measly wedges. Pizza was mushy. Pot roast was gray and almost impossible to chew. Not to mention the plate was flooded with water from the steamed veggies. Asked for boxes to then watch server go off and clean tables for 15 minutes. Then had to ask for the check and again waiting. Unfortunately because of this trip, we probably won't be going back again.
Fantastic evening! We had a large party, but they accommodated us (even the late/extra diners) as if it was no big deal. The server was exceptional. The entertainer was so fun. We were amazed trying to figure out how he pulled-off his card tricks.
Very great!! Very great!! Very great!! Very great!!
The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. The food quality was great, as well as the beer offered. And the service was timely and courteous. This would be a great spot for a family dinner, or a bite to eat when in town. I highly recommend!
Setting was perfect for group of 8 to catch up with the Omaha family before journeying to other parts of the state. Large round table towards the back of the restaurant made it easy to talk, tell stories and laugh without imposing on other diners. Variety of choices on the menu and entrees were very good. Service was as expected at the Upstream - attentive and friendly.
It was the first time we have been to the Upstream. We were not disappointed. Our server Taylor, went out of her way to accommodate us.
Had a very good time with my girlfriend very tasty food
Great waitress and food
Our family was passing through Omaha on our way home from vacation in Colorado. We were exhausted from a long day of driving. The atmosphere immediately reenergized us. Bonus - there was magician going from table to table and made us laugh so hard our bellies hurt! Our food came out fast, it was delicious. We would definitely come back here again!
The magician was magical! Great food and entertainment.
Love the food & atmosphere. Service was excellent! We couldn’t be on time for our table. I called Upstream to let them know that we were going to be half hour late thinking I’d have to give up our table because Easter Sunday was busy. However, they were very friendly & kept us on the list. Got right in! My family very happy!
Wonderful food and terrific service. Came here after 15 hours on the road and couldn’t ask for better!
We had a delicious meal at Upstream Brewery. My husband had beef stroganoff, and I had the shrimp bowl. The service was exceptional. We will visit again next time we are in Omaha.
Our poor server was over-sat with two big parties and us. He forgot our appetizer but immediately apologized and bought us dessert. Even overly busy, he was still very nice. The food was AMAZING! Very good. Very interesting. Well prepared. We all enjoyed what we selected. I had the Atlantic Salmon (the Brussels sprouts side was VERY nice), my husband had the pork chop (which looked AMAZING), my son had the pork schnitzel and my daughter had the fish and chips off the kids menu.
On a very busy night, we were seated and served quickly. Our orders included smoked mac and cheese, a burger, and a ribeye steak special. The food was pretty average, but the atmosphere was great and the beer was good. The corn and xheesy potatoes with the special were excellent!
We had an incredible meal. The food ... amazing. Waiter, well, she was spot on! Upstream is our go to place.
When we arrived our table was ready. The service was by far the greatest and server was very attentive.
The food was excellent as was the fresh made beer! Service was super!
Service was courteous and efficient.
Excellent meal and service from the restaurant. Wonderful options, great service and most importantly good food and beer.
First time in years for me but I'll definitely be back much sooner. Food was amazing and service was even better! Lots of choices in Omaha but this should be on everyone's rotation
Good place, well located with grest service and marcellous food
Great place with some different things on the menu that are fun to try. Atmosphere is great and service is always wonderful. House beers rock!
I booked a reservation and we were seated in very quickly. It was very busy, so I was glad I made a reservation. Our food was great and arrived in a timely manner. Our ticket was a little pricey--over $88 for 3 people
Even though we stated in our reservation we were celebrating our Anniversary we were seated in a little bitty table in the middle of the room. Nice booths seemed to be available. it was very noisy. I've had much better Veggie burgers. My husband enjoyed his ribeye. We really enjoyed having drinks after dinner upstairs seated on a cozy couch.
Steaks were tough
Service was spotty
Didn’t have the wine we ordered- Strike 3
Good food and good service. Specials sounded good.
We were recently visiting in Omaha. We had dined at Upstream years ago and really enjoyed the food and beer options. During our recent visit, Upstream lived up to our memories. The food and the beers we tried were great. Our waiter was awesome, as well.
We've been going to Upstream for several years. Like many restaurants, you'll get a better table if you make a reservation. The upstairs section is quieter and more intimate; the tables downstairs always seem kind of crowded together. Our server was excellent - he was happy to spend time answering questions about the menu, and had great timing. He popped back at regular and well-timed intervals to make sure we were doing OK or to see if we needed anything else.
The specials are worth getting - very creative, and I usually find them more appealing than many of the menu items. For example, both of the soups on the menu - tomato basil and a cheese soup - both just seem a little bland to me, compared to the soup specials. On this visit, I had a chicken parmesan soup, which was just delightful. I also had a ribeye special that was so marvelous I gobbled down almost all of it - usually I find their portion sizes quite large and enough for one or two "leftover" meals.
That's not to say I don't like the regular menu selections - there are some really great choices there. I think the best thing about it is that there is enough variety for everyone. My husband prefers simpler tastes (kind of a "meat-and-taters" guy) while I like things a little more exotic. There's something for everyone at Upstream.
Great service! Food came out quickly and the waitress was good mannered and did a wonderful job.
Upstream is a very nice restaurant. It was very busy, so I'm glad we made reservations before we went. We were in town for a romantic night away, so when we were seated at a two-person table next to a larger group with 6 kids or so, I wasn't really excited. Luckily the kids were pretty well-behaved and the restaurant noise actually worked to our advantage since it all kind of blended away. Our server was attentive without being there constantly, which is a fine balance.
The food was absolutely delicious! We had the pretzel cheese curds for an app. The raspberry jalapeno sauce was absolutely perfect. I had the salmon dinner and my husband had the fish and chips. Both were incredible. We ended with some apple crisp and the s'mores brownies. I would definitely recommend the restaurant again, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
I was really excited to try this place. I have had multiple people recommend it to me. My first impression was this place looks really cool. Tall ceilings with the brewers equipment visible. I was impressed! We were seated and created by our waiter. I was really excited to try the beers. I decided to get the 4 beer sampler, when trying to decide what beers I wanted. I asked the waiter what he thought of a certain beer. He pointed to the description sheet and said "you will find everything you need to know there, and I don't want to put my glasses on to have to read it to you".... I thought ok, maybe he isn't a beer guy. Not that big of a deal. My beer sampler arrives and the beers were great! I was impressed. I asked him if I could get a glass of water. Hey says "I put the exact number of waters on the table for everyone at the table. You already have one". Well at this point I was frustrated, and responded "I obviously wouldn't of asked for one if I already had one. Can I please get a water." He eventually brought me one. By this point his attitude and combative remarks ruined my impression of the brewery. I honestly think if I had another server that night I would of gave this place 5 stars across the board. Good beer, good food but a waiter with some issues.
If you go here, sit at the bar. The bartenders are great and take very good care of you! The food is unique for a brew house and the beer is great! A definite must!
All the grand kids found fun tasty things for supper.....as did the adults in our party. Our waiter Rich was great with our group of seven and with children changing their minds plus allergy considerations. We had a very nice Sunday evening family meal.
Had the Sunday brunch. Outstanding spread of entree’s and sides. The bread pudding French toast is fabulous!!
