Usully have diner not lunch at the Tavern. Would stick to diner.....
Very good place
My wife and I had a chance to dine here. We had a very nice time. A little slow for our drinks to be served but other than that the pace of the meal was excellent. Food wise: our appetizers were delicious! Our entrees were just ok. Not bad mind you just ok. A little under seasoned and a little over cooked. We will definitely dine here again but I think we will take a bit of a different approach. I think the strong point of Marlton Tavern is their bar food. Appetizers, burgers and sandwiches are what they do best here and that is what we'll return for.
Good food and great service. Food wasn’t as hot as I’d like but it wasn’t worth complaining about. I’ll go again.
After booking the reservation, we went to the Tavern for brunch. Wrong date to visit because there was no update on Facebook or website regarding there being no brunch on Superbowl Sunday. Waitress did not know how to ask for a simple drink order when we first sat down and the ingredients on our food order was either missing or overcooked.
Always a cozy spot for a meal. Good food, drinks, service
We had a warm inviting time on New Years eve for dinner. Lots of ambience, great drinks, apps and entrees. They put the fireplace on for us which made our visit so cozy and warm. Our drinks were very good and dinner was excellent. We all agreed to come back again and again.
All was okay, but the dining area, which was a closed off quaint porch, was chilly in the evening. Order their cocktails because they don’t necessarily know how to make classic standards such as a Manhattan. The waitress was new, but very attentive.
My pasta meal with shrimp and scallops was fair. Overprized for the quality of he meal.
Food was excellent. Dining area was kinda cramped area
I was so overwhelmed by the wonderful service. We had the all you can eat crab legs and they were excellent. The waiter kept them coming. I told everyone I know that this is one trip they should make. This is a great dining experience.
Love this spot. Great service and food. Friendly staff.
We had a reservation, one of 2 in the book that I looked at since no one at the check-in desk. I was not happy that we had to go upstairs since my husband is age 85 and breathing problems. He said OK so we climbed the steps with him getting out of breath. Was told we should have specified where we wanted to sit but since we have never been there, have could we specify. Food was fine but we are at the shore a lot and we've eaten a lot of crab cakes so I would not say they are the best in the area as noted in the SJ Magazine. No handicap parking spaces which my husband normally uses. I'm sure this is a popular place for the younger crowd.
Our server was very friendly - she knew we were not happy re seating - and she did try to make our visit pleasant - she did her job very well.
The waitress was so rude we left.
Great find! Very good food and wonderful service. This will become one of our "go to" places for sure!
Was disappointed that they didn't have a full kitchen. Only bar food and sandwiches
I arrived 15 minutes early to my reservation. They had no idea I even had a reservation. They had no computer, little notes on paper spread about their host stand. The man looked dazed and confused and didn't know what to do. Told me I'd have to wait atleast 40 mins so they could get a table together as he frantically ran around scattered brained. The place is run down and murky looking. We left without ever getting our table.
The service on the second floor was terrible. It took over an hour for our food to come out. Drinks took about 30 mins. This was on Father's Day, but we were the only people in the upstairs dining room. Seems like forgetting about people up there is a constant problem.
The food was good but the service was slow. The waitress forgot our drinks and we had to go to the bar to get our own. Also the food seemed to take forever and so did taking our orders
Wanted to take my wife out for an Anniversary celebration. The noise level (downstairs on the "porch" was ridiculously loud. Wife's Fillet was cooked as ordered and tasty but did not come with the Au Jus as mentioned on the menu. My Broiled Seafood dinner was simply awful. This food was not "freshly prepared." It included 4 shrimp, 4 scallops and a crab stuffed flounder. All items were doused in "red seafood flavorings" and appeared to be something that must have been shipped in frozen to be heated and served. No, I would not go again.
The Marlton Tavern didn't disappoint! Food was excellent, especially the crab cake
Great food and service. So reasonable price wise. Love this place and so we hope to return soon
We have been there many times, but will not be back. The service, food, etc was horrible.
Didn't know the restaurant had 2 floors. They only had availability on 2nd floor and my friend had to leave because she wasn't able to walk up steps due to health issue .Overall the food was delicious and our server was the best!
The crab cake was outstanding. Ate downstairs, a little crowded feeling but worth it. Would go there again.
Even though we booked a table on open table, when we got there they had no availability for the entire evening. I felt insulted and would never go there again.
Good food, good servers
I've eaten here before and never had a problem. However I went Friday for lunch and there was o my one person working the entire floor including seating. Took longer than lunch should.
Points have not been credited to my account.
Our entries came out of the kitchen while our appetizers were still on the table so we had cold food, coffee was also cold, many excuses no remedies
Everything was excellent. From the service to the food. It was my first time and I have already planned to come again. This time with more people. One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time that has good food and good service. Thank you for making my daughters birthday special!
Excellent experience from making reservations until completion of our night. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. The food & service was great! They even had live entertainment in the downstairs bar.
great place for dinner with friends or your honey Will be going back
Marlton Tavern did not have record of my reservation. Waitress who greeted my party appeared annoyed that we needed a table for 5. She told me she did not know how to credit my Open Table account. Did not find someone who could do so. Please credit my account.
We came on a very busy evening. We were seated within 10 minutes upstairs. The service was wonderful from the moment we arrived until we left. The food was very good. Atmosphere was cozy. Will definitely return and highly recommend.
Our family of 9 gathered here for an early New Year's Eve dinner and were delighted to have most of the upper floor to ourselves. Our waitress was excellent and catered to the many different dietary preferences. Our meals were delicious and many of us took home leftovers. We travelled from 3 different states to be together and didn't make a reservation until the day before so we were really pleased to be able to be together. We had come here last fall to celebrate the engagement of a granddaughter so we were prepared for the best and delighted to experience it once again. We'll be back for another celebration.
We went on Christmas Eve and they were busy. BUT, the waiter forgot an entree, the soups that went with the meal and water that one of us asked for. He was apologetic and wrapped the food up to take home. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was quiet. I will go there again.
Had some problems unfortunately. Dinner reservations for Christmas Eve. Party of 7. We were sat at the entrance first table. Promised door would not be used but it was often. Was sitting near a service station as well. Host apologized in advance for f bombs coming from bar which our table was also near. All seats open but this is where we were sat. Waitress promised fresh bread was in the oven baking. We received old hard stale bread. Asked for new and it was warm and fresh. But they served us really old bread. Out of the 7 two dishes came out incorrect. I ordered the filet. It was raw inside. Raw, uncooked. It had to go back twice. We were very disappointed in this place and won't be going back.
Unfortunately. the reservation we made through Open Table was not recorded at the restaurant. We still received a table relatively quickly, but the staff was somewhat disorganized. Granted, a Christmas party was occurring in their main dining room, but I felt that we were not receiving an appropriate level of attention. For example, I very clearly requested balsamic dressing for a salad, only to receive blue cheese. The prosciutto-basil panini was quite good, so all was not lost.
We made a reservation through Open Table and received a text message to confirm that we were all set. When we showed up for our reservation, the gentleman at the host station ignored us for the first five minutes. Then when he finally acknowledged us, we told him that we had made a reservation through Open Table. Without even looking up, he said "oh, that should have been shut off, we cannot accommodate you" and literally walked away without as much as an apology. My husband, 12 year old son and I just stood there in disbelief. I cannot believe how rudely we were treated and refuse to ever dine at the Marlton Tavern again. I was very disappointed to say the least!
