What Insiders Are Saying
Universally appealing, consistently excellent, and one of our favorite places in all of NYC.
A joyful celebration of everyday life. Inspired food. Heartfelt service. What else could you want?
Accommodated our carriage!
Great food. Great service. The only drawback is that it's a little noisy. Too many hard surfaces. Nothing to absorb the loud conversations. And I was there at lunchtime.
restaurant is great for anything you want. great atmosphere and food
We were there for brunch. Service and ambience was excellent- young crowd and family friendly with teenagers.
Hells egg was amazing!
Will certainly be back ther.
We were very pleased with the brunch options. handled vegetarian requests with ease. Staff was friendly and accomodaing. Ambiance was pleasant and fun.
The portion sizes were surprisingly large when you are used to 2-bite small plates from everywhere else in NYC. My mom and I shared a pasta and each had an entree and it was more than enough food. The chicken liver pasta was very rich but delicious! Service was on point and the flower arrangements and decor were very pretty.
Lived in NYC for 8+ years and this was a top three meal. Great service and incredibly fresh food with a ton of flavor. Looking to get back to Upland ASAP.
Food and service was excellent. We had the kale and sausage pizza and the 4 lettuce Caesar salad and shared it between two of us. Plenty of food!!!
Tremendous, creative and memorable food. Friendly and impeccable service. Definitely a 'must try' restaurant on any NY trip.
Everything here is well execute — from the food to the atmosphere. I cannot wait to come back!
Our table was ready exactly on time for our reservation. The food was delicious though disappointing our waitress never told us the specials. She was especially unattentive and pushed the dishes she liked. What we ordered we loved!
Very nice decor, service was excellent. The food was also good, and the overall experience was wonderful.
Delicious brunch in a fantastic environment. We loved the decor and ambiance as much as the food! We had the doughnut starter, eggs your way and quiche Lorraine. Our server was attentive and efficient. Couldn’t have enjoyed it more.
No sommelier present on a Saturday?
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Staff was all very friendly. Something you don’t often find in this city.
Heart of Park Ave and a bit off to the side. Quiet and very mature in terms of decor, utensils and plates. Very strong presentation of cuisine and tasty American fare.
Nice Stephen Starr restaurant which reminds me of Jones’ in Philly. I ordered the quiche and a side of potatoes while my mate ordered pancakes, eggs, and sausage. The quiche was good but a bit charred as were the pancakes. They gave us a birthday cheesecake which was really noteworthy and delicious.
The server seemed bothered by everything that we ordered or asked. I made a reservation for 5 people, 4 showed and we sat. The 5th person decided to join after all and it put the server in a bad mood. Total bill was around $350+, I would return but she should switch jobs, sorry!
Outstanding food with nice portions at decent prices. Excellent fish, pasta and salads. Well-chosen wine list with some bargains and. a few gems. Service was spotty, mostly due to lack of attention, pressure to order food before wine was served, and overly aggressive bus boys anxious to remove plates, Noise level was extreme, mostly due to hard surfaces throughout but made worse by the fact that the tables are very close together so it’s almost impossible to have a conversation without yelling to be heard above the din.
I've been here a couple times, am never impressed with the food. This time they got my order wrong, the delay screwed up my afternoon. And the salmon was very salty. There was nothing special about it.
Food consistently good, would even day excellent. Service consistently unpleasant. I have now been to upland enough times to realize abrasive and aggressive service is a theme. Without fail the servers are aggressive, not welcoming, in a hurry to get you out of here and generally unpleasant. What a shame as the food is actually delicious. Over it and too many restaurants in NYC to keep going back
From the moment I walked into the restaurant, and I was greeted by a host, the lunch I had with my friend was amazing... great staff and delicious food. I could have the gem salad and heirloom tomatoes everyday.
A good time was had by all and I will definitely be going back!!!
Good food but a little too noise
Second time we come and I loved it even more. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They greet you genuinely and are eager to help.
The food was excellent from starters to mains to desserts. The pizzas are great size to share. The flavors and sauces are excellent. Salads are also a good size to share.
The place has a great atmosphere and vibe. It’s not too loud so easy to have conversations and enjoy night out!
Food is excellent. Great for brunch. Energetic atmosphere. Attractive setting. Nice bar area. Service very good.
Everything about it was great. While it was not inexpensive I felt that the prices were fair and reasonable for the level of service and quality of ingredients provided, as well as the overall beauty and style of the restaurant. Our server was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious. There were 10 things on the menu that I really wanted to order And my daughter and her friends felt the same way. I was very sad I couldn’t try the cocktails for brunch because I was with my daughters and her friends. I would definitely come back to this place for any meal. Everyone thought it was totally excellent.
Good food. Not too many vegan options. Great drinks and ambience. Went for brunch.
Food took a while to come out, but overall very good. It was my birthday and they brought out a treat at the end - so nice! Not so many healthy options.
Great food but the Miami location has a better menu! This location does not have the fried chicken sandwich or chilaquiles,
Way too noisy but the food is good - service was excellent and menu was creative.
The food and our sever were amazing. It was such a delightful meal.
Food was good. I would suggest ordering the duck wings. The atmosphere was relaxed Americana. Service was helpful and attentive.
Delicious dinner and wonderful menu. We celebrated my daughter's 30th birthday at Upland and we were not disappointed.
This restaurant is fabulous. The food is perfect and the service is tremendous. Going to a restaurant like this is a total lift. it is truly wonderful (just too hard to get in though).
Crazy Good- Food, Ambiance, Service. Very solid experience
Food was not as good as I would have expected it to be. The venue itself is great and some of the things on the brunch menu was overpriced. :(
As good as it get....The Branzino is the best on EARTH.
Amazing food. Loved our waitress as well!
I've been to Upland a handful of times, once for dinner and a few times for lunch. The food is almost always spot on. I had a Cacio Pepe that was just as tasty as the Cacio Pepe I ate in Rome. The duck wings were crispy and super tasty, and the wine is on point. I wish the servers would seat parties before all members of the party arrive. This is a NY thing and I know it's because they're busy and don't want to take up tables. But if you have the reservation (i.e., the table), why not seat you so you can start looking at the menu and ordering drinks? Most nice restaurants in NYC do that, but not Upland. This combined with the busy-ness of the restaurant lessens the ambiance somewhat, especially for those special occasion dinners. However, the food is good enough to draw me back.
