Universally appealing, consistently excellent, and one of our favorite places in all of NYC.
this is a upbeat restaurant with good food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely come back to dine.
Thank you UPLAND! ALWAYS DELICIOUS WITH THE MOST AMAZING STAFF!!!!!
Rude waitress, not accommodating to gluten free (myself) and vegetarian (friend) customers. Had attitude, acted annoyed when we asked for options. Food was average. I'd say: overhyped place, not worth the wait!
We went to Upland for my daughters birthday for brunch. She is a vegetarian and eats healthy. There was eggs any style on the menu. She asked for a egg white omelette and asked if they could make dry and add a few vegetables. The waiter said no. She needed up getting the omelette that was in the menu without cheese. It was covered in oil and a pound of salt in it. Living in nyc we never have been to a restaurant that would not make any alterations especially to a omelette. She didn’t touch her food which made everyone else upset. And ruined all our meals.
This is another big barn Park Ave South venue with food that is slightly above average for the genre. Don't let the hype fool you. The din is overwhelming, making it frequently easier to hear and understand a guy shouting at his dinner companions twenty feet away than the person sitting across from you. Out food arrived cold and was rather bizarrely seasoned. I had lamb shoulder with sprouted lentils, squash (or was it just tasteless sweet potato) and and avocado "pesto" which meant overly charred lamb in random bits in a gloppy, heavy blanket of all the other mushy ingredients, all with an off-balance sour tinge.
Service was characterized by undisguised disinterest. When I asked about nuts in the food I wanted to order, the server quickly said there were none, then when I pressed that "pesto" usually had some, she checked and indeed there were. Not a responsible attitude, given the prevalence of serious allergies. Basically, just a grim experience. No salient disasters, no joy.
Our reservation was honored, the food was really good, and we had a great time.
Great trendy place to eat. We had the crab meat and avocado salad which was soo uniqe and tasty. For main we shared the chicken plate. Very good and huge enough to share 2 people.
Make a reservation and go
We had a great time, but wish our server had been a bit more engaged and warmer to us. She was very hands off and matter of fact. Other than that we had a great time and tasted majority of the menu. Everything was delicious.
Overrated, over-seasoned, and a overpriced.
The perfect trifecta for millennials.
I like Upland very much. I've been there on several occasions...some better than others...The restaurant is beautiful...the menu is tantalizing...This time I chose the lamb pita sandwich as I was in the mood for something different...unfortunately the lamb was a bit too fatty for my taste. Additionally, the server was rather lacking personality...normally at Upland we have wonderful service...this time I felt that the server was not really interested in adding to our overall experience...lastly when I requested bread for our table of 4 we were served one slice of grilled bread that we needed to cut and divide...I thought this was a strange offering.
Good was great and service was professional and friendly. I highly recommend the gem salad.
Incredible food amazing service!
Everything okay, main dish I ordered sesame crusted cod was pretty good but the grain served under it was disgusting.
My favorite restaurant! Never disappoints!
Superb ambient, service, food and wine list. I found my gnocchi too small, but having eaten some bread along that was ok'ish. Food was delicious, great experience!
Really quite perfect. Amazing food and service.
Outstanding in every way -the food especially, the service and the ambience
Took my mother here for mother's day and it was amazing! No complaints. The food is amazing, the service was great, and the design was on point. Will be coming back again for more.
The food at Upland was really top-notch. We had the pastry basket (SO good!) to get a little brunch but also ordered the sausage & kale pizza and the cacio e pepe. The bucatini was incredibly fresh. The cocktail list was also inventive and delicious
Lovely brunch. One of our favorite restaurants in the city!
What a wonderful brunch!! Delicious food & great service!! My friend & I were celebrating our birthdays, and they brought us each a candle with ice cream!! So thoughtful! Pastry basket - amazing!! I can’t wait to go back!! ❤️
Great atmosphere. A bit limited brunch selection (mostly egg-based). Reasonably priced
Just a great brunch. Definitely get a side of bacon.
Great place for brunch. Some dishes are large enough to share. Nice ambience and decor.
Went for lunch to celebrate a workmates birthday. Lovely wine, plenty of beer choices, VERY good salad and yummy pasta (although after the first few bites I found it a bit too peppery for my taste). Wait staff polite & helpful. Really nice ambience, definitely will go back. It has a great bar & beautiful booth seating . On the pricey side but not outrageous.
Everything was perfect!
Food and service was great. The cocktails were refreshing. Upland has a welcoming vibe.
Upland is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Love the little gem salad, green zebra pizza and the bucatini cacio e pepe keep me coming back every time. They also carry Wolffer Estate No. 139 which is a go-to of mine. Can't go wrong with both ambiance and food selection here! Highly recommend.
Dinner before a show. Great service, impeccable food, all around wonderful
This restaurant is really fantastic. Actually creative cuisine, very well executed, in a beautiful space with top-notch service. My only advice is that the portions are actually quite substantial, so keep that in mind when ordering. As a party of three we ordered three "ones", two pastas, and one "three", which was a little bit too much - we ended up taking most of the final course home as leftovers. No complaints, as I do love leftovers, but worth noting. I would certainly prefer having portions that are surprisingly generous than the alternative (which is what you get at most high class restaurants these days)!
Will definitely be back!
Great food in a nice surrounding. Pizza was good.....not special.
Large fried mushroom came out ice cold...
Probably then microwaved and truly bad.
Really was looking forward to it.
This was our second visit, both of them late night after shows. It's a great option if you are dining late (say 1030 pm). The menu is fairly broad, albeit Italian-centric, with quite a few choices. This time, we had cocktails, salad, pasta, and an appetizer. The wine selection is deep and cuts across most price ranges and tastes....kudos to the sommelier who has had a chat with us both times. Wait staff is engaged and helpful, service is prompt, and the ambiance is nice. It can be a bit noisy if the place is full. The price point is good for this quality of food in NYC. We'd recommend this without question for a nice meal in this part of the city.
Every dish was outstanding. Will be back!
We were very much looking forward to eating here. Sadly, Upland did not live up to our expectations. I do not think we will be coming back. It’s a pleasant restaurant, but the food was mediocre at best. Perhaps it was our dish selection. Either way, simply unimpressed.
Truly delightful--ambiance is absolutely beautiful and the food is great.
NEVER DISAPPOINTS. FARM FRESH, REALISTIC PORTIONS YOU CAN EVEN SHARE.
LOVE IT HERE.
