Up The Creek
The place seems not as great as previous years. Food wasn’t amazing, tough steak and floor needed to be vacuumed.
Delicious!!! Very tasty, great service. Good atmosphere.
We (4 adults) dined once this week, loved it! We made another reservation for later in week. Pork shank, NYStrip, scallops, trout. Service was great also
We were there for restaurant week so the value was terrific. The entrees were excellent and the peach cobbler was fantastic
One of if not the of my favorite places in Val valley
We have dined here many times and this one did not disappoint. We had friends from Miami who had not been to the Vail area and this was a great choice that evening. However, the restaurant's computer reservation system did NOT show our OpenTable reservation so we were seated immediately adjacent to the front door. A bit busy and noisy as diners entered and left, but the food and service overcame this handicap.
One of our favorite spots to dine in Vail. Consistently good. We sat outside on a beautiful evening with a view of Gore Creek. It was wonderful!! All 6 of us were happy with our dinners and the apps we chose.
Food was excellent- but service was extremely slow with no apology or excuse
5 tables seated after us all got entrees before us and some even paid and left. When asked our server said “I don’t cook your food”
Very disappointing! Server made us feel bad that we even questioned why our food was late
Awesome location, delicious food and wine, great service and cool vibe. Definitely going back!
Indoor outdoor dining at its best!!
Excellent dinner. We dinned outside along the creek. The food was excellent as was the service. We could not have asked for more!
very slow service adn food, with relatively small crowd. food was ok, but not worth the price.
Very good food and excellent service...sit outside if you can...very enjoyable
A Vail treasure... excellent food. Service is good and a nice friendly and casual vibe. Great location! The chicken tortilla soup is some of the best I have ever eaten! I am very particular about tortilla soup! I also recommend the arugula and pear salad. The vanilla vinaigrette is amazing! A must when visiting Vail.. ps. Their truffle fries are delicious!
Beautiful setting. Arrived a little early for our reservation and asked for an outside table. Seated on the patio overlooking the creek. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. Cocktails were tasty and the truffle fries with Maytag blue cheese fondue were delicious. The marinated pork chop with apple gravy was perfectly cooked, juicy and tasty. The trout was a smallish portion and a tad over cooked but still satisfied that craving. Dessert was a peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. All in all a lovely dinner in Vail.
Food was very good. Service was okay. Siting outside was really nice.
Limited menu. Two entries were very good, two OK, two were not very good. Out of two tap beers. Choice from the can was not very cold
We had a wonderful dinner. Fabulous trout and short ribs. It was my birthday, and was perfect. We love Vail in the summer and this is our favorite restaurant.
Nice and cozy, great food!
There were four of us and we all felt somewhat disappointed. I remember the food here as being very good, but this time the fish was over-cooked as was the pork chop. Everything lacked seasoning. Wine list was good. Might try again next summer.
Very nice dinner. Fantastic staff. Pleasant environment. Food was great and not over the top.
After a big and late breakfast, we were wanting a tasty light dinner. So we each had a salad (Caesar and House) and soup (tortilla soup and clam chowder) and were impressed with the quality and the helping sizes. Service was spot on and friendly. The tastes were fantastic and with their delicious bread, it was a perfect meal - not too heavy but so good. Definitely going back when in Vail Village!
They were very busy the night we were there. We were a party of 10 so extra challenging. Our waitress was very fast, attentive and patient considering how busy they were. Every dish was delicious and well presented. I got the NY Strip. I rarely order NY Strip as they are usually a disappointment. This was the first truly delicious and tender NY Strip I think I’ve ever had! Being a large group on a full capacity seating our main course was just a bit behind so they comped my steak without is even having to ask! Will definitely dine there again!
We ate outside by the creek and the food was absolutely delicious! Our serve, Carissa, was delightful. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Sit outside if you can!!!
This has been a favorite in the past, but the food quality was way down and don't plan to go again.
Waited very long for entrees and waitress did not communicate well at all and had very little service orientation, even though we ordered a $90 bottle of wine. Hope that was an aberration since we have had 2 prior visits that were great.
The ambiance was great. The waitress was attentive but the food was poor. The pork chops were very dry and the gnocchi and mac and cheese were not cooked at all.
Beautiful night. Wonderful service and as usual excellent cuisine.
best Trout ever!
beet salad also is fabulous even though I don't really like beets - amazing what a great chef can do
Not good service
We had a 7P reservation, seated promptly and a nice outside table. But, how could they be out of the short ribs and gnocchi already? Other than that, service was great and food delicious. Always a nice night dining there
we are long time locals - and don't really come into town that often but pretty much always celebrate our life milestones at Up The Creek. Peter - Mickie and Patrick are always so gracious and the food----the food ---Oh my Goodness!!
Thanks for being a friendly face in the sometimes "too" exclusive atmosphere of Vail.

Wonderful! We love Up The Creek! Great short ribs! Yum!
Very good food and service. Crab cake appetizer was delicious. Salads and main courses very well prepared as well.
Overall, food and service was very good. Definitely pricey for the plate sizes, but, unfortunately, that's Vail.
It was very relaxing sitting by the creek. Service was great. It came highly recommended by a local but my entree wasn’t the best (the gnocchi was a little too dense or maybe over cooked, and I thought an odd mix of flavors). I would not order it again. Other entrees like the short rib were better, according to my family.
We were in Vail for a family reunion and dined at Up the Creek our last nihht. Everything from the creekside table to the service and food were perfect!
We had a reservation for 2 people for my husband's birthday and arrived on time. The hostess asked where we'd like to sit, we said," In the shade outside". She wouldn't seat us at the 2 or 3 tables we pointed out because she said she had to save them for 4 people, not 2. We replied there were other tables occupied by to 2 people which seat 4. She then said, "Sorry, can't do it". We were seated inside and it was uncomfortably warm, in addition, near a shrieking child that wouldn't stop. We ordered Martinis and while we were waiting 3 parties of 2 people each, none of whom had a reservation, were seated outside in the shade by a host. He walked by and inquired how we were. We said, "Alright". The clam chowder and Little Gems salad we ordered, arrived and were great! We then ordered the Short Ribs of Beef and the Trout, plus 2 more Martinis. The host then came by and seated us at one of the tables we'd requested on arrival, saying some people didn't' show up. REALLY??? Too little too late! Not his fault, hers! The entrees were wonderful and we enjoyed them outside by the stream, in the cool breezes and shade!!!!! The food was great, the hostess uncooperative, the host saved the evening, but we should have been seated where we wanted in the first place!!!!!
