   Waiter was distracted talking to employees. When we said the starter didn’t taste very good he said it happens sometimes didn’t offer to change it, ordered steak which was very good but asked that the sauce garlic butter be on the side plate came out swimming in oily butter ruined the mash also wrong side came out and by the time the correct side was served meal was almost done. Not impressed

   We were a party of ten with two children under four. At first the waitstaff were wanting to get orders quickly but we let them know that we needed more time to look over the menu, and we hadn’t seen each other in quite a while so we would need some time to ourselves together. They were wonderful- attentive but not overly so. Food was wonderful!

   Excellent dining experience! We were promptly greeted and taken to our table! Service staff was very attentive without being overly intrusive. Food was cooked to perfection, and restaurant was able to accommodate other diner who has Celiac disease. Bonus, that "bar" section is physically separated from dining area that reduced noise level and enabled diners to have a conversations at normal tone. Highly recommended and will be back!

   This is our "go-to" place to take our out of town visitors to - never a disappointment, very good service, beautiful surroundings and just a block from the waterfront. The other thing, the menu has something for everyone, including "Kid's Meals" that are winners with the young ones. This was a July 4 visit for lunch with cousins visiting DC for Independence Day and they loved Union Street Public House. The Local Oysters were great, Crabcake sandwiches were a hit with two of the adults, I really enjoyed my Steak Sandwich (recommended by our waiter who was terrific), fish & chips rounded out the adults' main courses. Servings are plentiful, the fries on the side are really good. All in all, a really nice lunch and we could all hear ourselves talk, too. Our waiter, Hassan B. did a very nice job, was helpful and friendly, good with the kids. And our Host, Andrew, at the check-in desk was very outgoing and fun to talk with.

   Not what we had expected based on previous reviews. Had a large group so maybe that had something to do with it, but only 2/8 people had their entree delivered as ordered.

   The hostess was very accommodating - allowing us the choice of several quiet spots as some of our group members are hard of hearing. Our waiter, Guillermo, was magnificent! He ensured we were comfortable, explained the specials and the regular menu items, checked in with us but did not interrupt us when he saw we were deep in conversation, and gave us enough time to plan our menu items and then enjoy them. Around the table we had mussels, chef salad, trout, and a burger - everyone was happy. Several types of wine were enjoyed among the group. We are a group that meets about 10 times per year and we will certainly return to Union Street Pub! Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

    Sitting upstairs is a different experience than downstairs - for quiet conversation, that's where you want to be. The menu offers good choices for everyone - seafood, meat, vegetables and gluten free options. Good for date night or families.
