That cacio e Pepe.... to die for. Seriously the best!
A friend and I shared bread, carrots, squid ink pasta with lobster, and a zabaglione tart. All were outstanding, and unique in flavor and preparation. The service was perfect. One nit: the price for an order of bread was $11, which seemed high. To be fair, the freshly baked bread was wonderful, as was the creamy butter, and it did come with flavorful pickled veggies, so...never mind! 😁
Some of the best taste profiles I’ve ever encountered- and that’s saying something!!! The service was amazing - and amazingly informative. Atmosphere? Top notch!!! Highly recommend!!!!
Food Phenomenal - wonderful - excellent. Sitting 10 inches from the person next to you is NOT conducive to a conversation. Its not that comfortable to be inches from a stranger as you both are eating. That is the only issue - being crammed in. Food wise its wonderful but other restaurants of the same caliber give you the ability to relax when you dine and Union just crams as many tables in as possible (and its a very small space). The two of us shared everything and loved the bechamel, the Squid / Lobster pasta, even the bread and butter (which they make from scratch - everything is made from scratch in their kitchens - they make their pasta - is wonderful. Just want some room to dine.
Amazing food every time. Great staff that provides excellent service. Definitely recommending this restaurant to friends and colleagues.
Restaurant too cramped.
Incredible food and service
One of the best restaurants in Southern CA
Every dish was excellent, not a slouch in the bunch! The service was wonderful as well. Union gives a hip, top-notch dining experience in an area of town that needs more of them.
Union is always a great place for great food! Loved the Cornish Game Hen, the lamb and the pasta! As constant travelers this is one of my teams favorite places!
The entire team made my Wife’s birthday dinner absolutely amazing. Most def a repeat customer here.
This was our first time to eat at Union. Wow! We totally enjoyed the experience. We were fortunate to get the corner table towards the front of the restaurant which is perfect to have conversation. We loved everything we ordered, the home baked bread and butter, the two veggie selections of beets and carrots, the juicy pork chop and the two desserts of Olive Oil Cake and Budino.
Delicious and unique, as always. Best staff ever.
Fantastic food and service. Delicious beet salad, rigatoni rabbit pasta amazing and fabulous pork chop. Outstanding service. Only composed $11 for delicious bread and churned butter
It was my second time at Union, as I just visit Pasadena occasionally. My son and I talked about the great meatballs for two years!
Cozy atmosphere, great service, yummy food. They also were quite accommodating for our vegan friend.
First off the young lady at the hostess stand was amazing. We were running late and communicating our delays every 10-15 minutes and she helped us throughout the hole delay debacle. We fully expected to be sitting at the bar, but Flower finagled some options for us to sit at a table.
The food here is tremendous. The simple but complex sauces and pairing of the dishes was great. For us the polenta was perfectly made and spread so well on the plate.
This was a place that my wife and I have been trying to work to get into for so long. We will be back.
Don’t miss out on the seasonal options that change the staple dishes from one flavor journey to the a new one each season
My only issue is the seating at the restaurant. The table in the front is extremely inconvenient as people are constantly opening and closing the front door.
Union is a fabulous restaurant. The food is wonderful, fresh, and from locally grown farms. The only item I will call out is the restaurant can get a little noisy when full.
Imaginative, satisfying cuisine does not disappoint. Casual yet thoughtful and knowledgable service. Recommended, well worth it. Two caveats -- we don't eat red meat or octopus, the appealing menu comes up a bit short on options for us. And we found most dishes too salty for our taste, not necessary.
Always lives up to expectations and some how exceeds them.
Loved the pork meat balls, the charred octopus, the squid ink lumache, the wild mushrooms, and the porchetta. Great service too. Above average prices but food is worth it.
Awesome from start to finish
Fantastic and inventive food with a great wine list. For any fan of Italian cuisine Union is a must. A little pricey, but well worth a splurge for some of the best Italian food in Pasadena
Incredible service & food!! Every dish was thoroughly enjoyed & out of town business guests had a great night!
Amazing food and impeccable service! We arrived 20 mins early for our reservation, and instead of being told to wait, we were given the option to take the chef's table at the bar. The staff highly recommended the table so we took it.
The table was perfect, right next to the kitchen. We received complimentary items (food and drinks) to sample. For our actual meal, we had the meatballs, the burrata, and the beets salad. Each dish was delicious, with every single dish with it's distinct flavor. The meatballs were my favorite and I'd have to say only my mom's homemade meatballs are comparable.
Overall, an amazing experience! Having driven from down town to Pasadena during rush hour, I'd say it was worth it!
One of my FAVORITE restaurants!! The food and service are second to none. Just wish they would buy out their neighbor and tear the wall down to enlarge their location. Way too small.
Amazing food and the service is phenomenal! They really know the menu, food and how everything is prepared. The pasta is truly heavenly
First time here and it will not be the last! Everything was delicious... and I mean everything!
Excellent service, a bit spartan and tight for the price. They often run out of Porshetta but I was lucky to get the last one. It was excellent if not greasy but it is pork after all.
The good: food is good, not life changing, probably one of the better restaurants in Pasadena.
The bad: right on the cusp of being over priced, but you should try it for yourself.
We were in Pasadena for the weekend and ate at Union twice because it was so good. The food was fresh and superbly prepared. There was a great wine list as well. Everything was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will definitely recommend Union to others.
❤️❤️❤️the best food and service!!!!
First time there with friends, and we loved everything. Food was amazing!! I can’t wait to visit Pasadena and dine there again.
The food was good, but the place is super small and the waiters barely can walk around (not their fault). It was so incredibly loud due to people trying to talk over each other, again not the staff’s fault. However, the price for each plate was not worth what we got. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
The food is great. The cramped quarters, the noise, and the lackadaisical service subtract so much from what seems like a lot of thoughtful attention being paid to ingredients and preparation. I had been looking forward to trying the olive oil cake but the dining experience was so terrible that we couldn’t wait to get out. Such a waste of money.
Great meal as experienced before, same superb standard. Our server was great and knowledgeable about the food and wine choices. Never disappoints.
Excellent food and service
The mushroom and the squid ink dishes are amazing but the rest are mediocre
Every single bite of everything we ordered was delicious. The food was filling but also light - proved that you don’t have to douse something in sauce to give it flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. Lived up to the hype and beyond. Portions are on the small side but perfect for us. We had 7 dishes among 3 of us. And our server was delightful. Highly recommend!
