Love this place, wish they would get cocktails though
Once our appetizer was delivered to our table, it took 45 minutes to receive our pasta dinners. The papperdelle past was wonderful, but the lamb meat sauce was so salty, I could only eat about 1/2 of the pasta.
Really delicious food, but portions are a little small. Since the concept is family style, if your party orders individual entrees, they aren’t served at the same time.
A revisit to Union and was so very delicious. The octopus was perfectly done and beautifully presented.
A special pork dish was excellent. Pasta dishes superb. The olive oil cake is an excellent dessert. Wait staff all friendly. Perfect wine service. Will definitely return.
Wonderful Italian/ new American restaurant in Pasadena, definitely a gem of the neighborhood. Its restaurant front is very low key, could have easily missed it even when you walk along that block of Union couple times a day. The food is simply outstanding, they did a great job elevating the flavors of simple and fresh ingredients. The burrata is a must have for me, it's very creamy and rich and is unlike any other burrata I've had before. The ambiance is also dynamic but also not hectic. It is a great environment for dinner with a few friends. Overall, it's always a blast having dinner at Union.
We have been to the Union for about half a dozen times. Every time our son visited us from Boston, we always make effort to have dinner at the Union. We have never been disappointed! We always enjoyed every unique dish they presented. Certainly this will not be our last time, we will probably continue to go there as long as they present with delicious dishes with warm, friendly services. Highly recommended.
Interesting and well balanced menu. Very good service. Wine list is out of reach for most. $9 for bread. Not a great value, but the food is delicious!
Such good pasta and thoughtful dishes. I suggest going on Spaghetti and meatball Monday!
The three course pasta meals and the meat balls dishes we ordered were out of this world. The olive cake a must tried. All ingredients were unbelievable fresh! My husband and I decided to make a point of going there at least once month.
Chef was amazing, came out and took all the orders, or at least I think that was the chef as he seemed very knowledgeable about all the products, etc. Great service, very personable and enthusiastic guy. Caccio pepe was ridiculous. Qual dish not bad. We got two other pasta dishes so was quite heavy, but nothing disappointed. We still love our Celestino for personalized menu and wine list, and Terroni for our go to dishes, but when we don't want to drive too far and just want a quick pasta fix this will be our new craving.
Always a great time. Brought a friend from out of town and she was amazed. These guys do everything right. New dishes and old standards.
Francis, Flower, Erica and entire staff took care of us. Chris and kitchen crew amaze how they can do what they do in that space.
We have been here a few times and it’s always outstanding. The pork meatballs are a must! All the pastas are wonderful and we usually have one of the bruschetta options or a salad. We never have room for dessert, but other people rave about them.
Outstanding Food, Excellent Service, definitely recommend whenever you are in Pasadena
Such a great local restaurant The best fresh food you’ll find around. The servers are all so knowledgeable. Great experience.
Amazing food and service. Dave, our server was super knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients used in each dish. We had the burrata, pork meatballs, bucatini cacio e pepe, the porchetta and the olive oil cake for dessert. Each dish was coursed out which we loved....and each dish was more delicious than the last.
As usual, great service and nicely prepared dishes.
Outstanding food and service! Highly recommended.
The food is too salty.
We sat at the Chef’s Table which was a bit quieter and rather cozy. We shared the Quail, Polenta with mushrooms, Lamb Ragu and Merguez Sausage. Everything was fantastic. The polenta was the best I have had. Service was great, friendly but not obtrusive. The wine offerings were interesting and the pours generous. This is worth a special trip! We were traveling from Sonoma County to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. We will be back!
Nice vibe and atmosphere here. The food was very good although not outstanding. Nice selection of wines and very friendly helpful staff. Overall a nice experience. Dessert was the best part!
The food here is totally fresh and yummy. My meal was awesome. However, it is unfortunate that the closeness of tables and the noise level diminish the enjoyment.
The food is always excellent. The seating is a little tight
The restaurant was very loud - my husband and I had a hard time hearing each other. The food was also not what we remembered. The octopus was very overcooked, so much so that it difficult to cut with the knives on the table. And the texture of the spaghetti was both gluey and undercooked. But worse was how sick my husband got after we ate. He has no known food allergies but had the most violent reaction to something we ate that evening; he was up all night sick and taking benadryl to counteract whatever he is apparently allergic to.
The lobster fennel pasta was AMAZING!
The food was good but beyond that it was an average experience. It's a small space and the waiters and other patrons were consistently bumping into our chairs and table. Although the wine selection seemed abundant, I enjoy a cocktail pre-meal and consider it to be part of the dinning experience so low marks for not having a full bar.
Fantastic meal at a place that's truly a neighborhood gem. It's an energetic place with unpretentious vibe. Food is always tasty, with great flavors and texture. Only con is the portion is quite small for the price they charge. A simple meal for two can easily be $100 w/o drinks. Union gets busy so book your table well ahead of time. ig: caffene_jolt
Wine and Beer. Corkage fee of $35 ... are you serious?
Food was good . However the dishes are small and shareable...
pricy for what you get...
This restaurant is so good! Definitely spendy.. but really good food.
Surprisingly casual for Sat night in Pasadena, but overall lovely experience!
Difficult to find. Signage was a small chalkboard outside. Seating was elbow to elbow with the table next to you. Noisy. Ordered the porchetta. Parts of it appeared to be still raw. A bit overpriced for what you got. Budino was amazing. Would not return, though.
Service was impeccable. Went out with my girlfriends for a "Galentines" Day celebration and had an amazing time. Two of my friends are vegan and they were very accommodating with menu suggestions. They have a $35 corkage fee, which is waved if you also purchase one of their bottles. Tables are really snug, so be prepared to overhear some conversations. All in all we had a great time and a great dinner.
Amazing food and even more amazing service!
WONDERFUL food and service on a busy night. There are too many tables for this tiny hole in the wall restaurant. The servers cant even get to the tables without people scooting in their chairs. Our bill was $300+ for 2 people. 4 plates, 2 desserts, 1 bottle of wine and 2 dessert drinks. The server recommended 4 plates because the servings are small, and they are small. We will probably go back at some point in the future.
We went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We arrived early and were sat immediately. The entire staff was very kind and checked on us throughout the night. The food was amazing. We had the bread, Meatballs and Charred Octopus as starters. All of them were amazing! For mains, we had the Kid’s spaghetti, Squid ink Lumache and Porchetta. My 8 year old loves the spaghetti. So do I but tonight I ordered the Porchetta. This is a main stay on the menu. It is delicious. My wife had the squid ink Lumache. She loved it. Pasta was al denté like she likes it and the rest was Amazing. We finished the night off with the olive oil cake and ice cream. Delicious!!!
This was our second time at Union and was another fantastic experience. Great food, great service. Love Union
Always love our local pasadena pasta stop. Food is always amazing. Try the mushroom polenta dish and you won’t be disappointed.
Had a wonderful dinner.
It was all delicious! The squid ink pasta was a def favorite.
Excellent food and very good service. Space is a bit challenging, we are packed in next to other diners and its hard for staff to circulate our table.
We love Union. It’s such a gem with delicious food and fast gracious service. It gets noisy when full but we don’t mind. We just have to sit closer to talk which can be more romantic. ❤️
