We enjoyed our Mother’s Day brunch and our server was very sweet and attentive! My only complaint would be that we had looked at the menu beforehand and there was a good selection for brunch items however upon arrival, we were given a menu with more lunch type items and the only brunch was the Mother’s Day Buffet at $35/person. It was good but not my intent to pay $35/person.
The food was surprisingly good. Why was I surprised? The restaurant is an upscale bar in the front with dinning tables in the back that you can only get to walking through the drinking area. But like pubs in Europe, the food offering was carried, tasty and had a very nice presentation. The server was friendly and on it. We went at 5:30pm so it was relaxed and quiet. I plan to go back.
Ambiance poor food quality less than average, service above average. Will not return due to ambiance an poor quality of food
Fries were cold. Soda was flat. Waitress was not very attentive.
It took two hours to get my meal
Great service & good food. Perfect stop before or after a Padres game (or during if you don't have tickets)
Great burger. Friendly staff. You can’t go wrong with this bar. Make sure in kids meals you ask them not to over cook the burger they do them well done for kids.
Our server was outstanding! Very accommodating! On top of everything! Enjoyed!
The food was horrible. I ordered gumbo. It looked and tasted like crap. The server got mad at me for askubg for it to be returned even though I ordered something more expensive instead. Their appetizers are decent though.
I like the high top seating in general and better with the booth seating. Nice selection of brews and a full bar. A very nice selection of unique variations of brew house food.
Birthday dinner before the Padres game. Perfect spot within walking distance with great staff and food/drinks.
Great food and ambience. Loved the live music. It made for a perfect Sunday Brunch vibe.
Delicious!! And very reasonably priced!! Would definitely go back!!
Nice casual restaurant with strong beer selection .... many local brews. The group enjoyed the food with a particular liking to the appetizers. Interior felt a bit dated for the prime location.
Food was top notch for lunch. Efficient and friendly service
The most rude waitresses and very hostile manager! They forgot our food and when we write a yelp review the manager came to our table and tried to make us believe we need to ask for “permission” to write a review! Another waitress named Charles was very mean to my friend! And called her “Charles”. Very unprofessional environment. Waitresses were just dancing around not caring about costumers! Don’t waste your money here! Find somewhere else!
Great food and service. Had the steak and frites and it was delicious.
Service was good, our appetizers were good as were our entrees when we finally got them. So aside from the entree taking longer than expected to arrive we had a good time. Drink list was interesting too.
Wonderful ambiance -really cool place. The shrimp and grits were wonderful!
The food was amazing. Our server was good. The hostess was new and very overwhelmed. Forgot to give us menus and we had to chase someone down to get them after waiting for about 20 minutes. Everything else was great!
When we arrived it was empty and didn't understand a the race about making reservations. Less than ten minutes later it was packed. Drinks are pretty good; food not so much. The food is bland. Lots of pepper on the food, but even then it lacked flavor. I don't understand why it's so popular nor why it has such high ratings.
The staff were very personable and cheerful. The food was great. Will definitely come back.
Good selection of food and beer
Service was very slow although everyone was very polite
Food was scrumptious. Good choices of local beer. Kid friendlh
There was technically nothing wrong with the place. Food was about average. For a “tap” they have pretty lame selection of beer. To be fair I’m pretty disappointed in most of San Diego’s establishments and the lack of quality beer.
Food was ok, but nothing special. I thought the shrimp and grits was too salty. We also had a few minor issues with our drinks. The server was nice, but I’ve never had to ask for olives in a dirty martini. Just a little off. Anyway, we were happy to be able to get in on Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t terrible, but I’m not seeking to go back.
Came here for valentines, menu was limited and food was averaged. Great atmosphere
Sad - This place has dropped off so much. We have dined here 7 or 8 times and we have seen the quality go down each time. They have now reached below average. In San Diego, you can do better.
Birthday but no one said anything, but our server Monica was amazing!!!
The food was excellent. We had one diner that is vegan who had the jackfruit sandwich and he said it was amazing!!! The service was great. Friendly and attentive.
Food was OUTSTANDING!! We will definitely visit the Union Kitchen & Tap next time we are in San Diego!
Fantastic food. The restaurant and bars ambience was great. Service was very helpful and timely. Even outdoor seating along the street was not noisy. This was a great experience.
I liked the casual ambience. The food was excellent, especially the shrimp and grits. They also have a good cocktail and beer selection. Our server was attentive and friendly. Overall, a great restaurant! Can't wait to come back!
Food was good but the service was absolutely terrible. The waiter kept disappearing for 20+ minutes at a time. We were there celebrating a milestone in a group of 6 people. Drinks went unfilled for long, long periods of time, to the point that I actually got up and went to the bar myself to refill my son's ginger ale as he could not finish his dinner without some sort of drink and the waiter could not be found. Perhaps they had a very off night but I eat out regularly and this meal had me dreaming of the service I expect to get in a Parisian cafe.
Great casual spot with high end craft cocktails. We were a group of 7 and our server was great - always checking in and the drinks and food came to the table quickly and perfectly. Everyone loved their dishes.
Buen Brunch, no es la mejor cocina pero cumple, muchas pantallas para ver los partidos y en la zona más prendida de SD.
We went to watch the Cowboys game had a great time. Service was kinda slow, need more servers. Food was great. Got a (BFC)big fat cookie but tasted burnt, they over cooked it.
Half of my "Union" hamburger was raw. Supposed to be cooked Medium. Complained to server to no satisfaction.
