I enjoyed my business lunch at Union Kitchen & Tap. Great place for lunch while working or attending events at the convention center. Burgers, fries...bar food done right!
Service was great Food was fine but probably a bit overpriced.
This is the place I have been looking for. We went in on Thursday evening to check the place out because we learned it was where COWBOYS fan gathered. The food is great with lots of Variety. The vibe is good, the place is lively with a great location. True enough, we returned on Sunday, enjoyed an Awesome breakfast, met lots of cool people, and Enjoyed a Team victory. Returning this Sunday to cheer the BOYS to victory! Our new Spot! We have invited friends to join us and sure to make many as we frequent this fine establishment.
Great place to eat in gas lamp district.
It was a little noisy for a business lunch, excellent service and good food
Food was very good. Service is slow, but the food is worth the wait.
Don’t know why, but some of the waitstaff does not respond at all when I said “thanks” or “thank you” when our dishes were cleared or when things were brought to me. Seemed a bit rude.
Had a excellent dinner on Saturday night. My husband and I love sitting outside.
The restaurant was very accommodating to our large group of seven adults, two small kids, and a baby. It was fairly noisy but this is understandable, given it was Saturday night. The appetizers and watermelon salad were great, as was the mushroom flatbread. People raved about the wings.
Union Kitchen & Tap is in a very convenient location and the menu looked great. I was disappointed in the food. The salmon was a very small portion for what you paid. The other dishes were just ‘ok’. The service was average. I wouldn’t go back.
The beers and service were all good. The salad was generous. The Brussels sprouts were not crispy but that was the only disappointing item. The shrimp and grits were the best I’ve ever had. They were out of cornbread so that was a bummer.
We had several large groups and it was very organized and the service was great, they didn't even give us a problem with separate checks! Well done!
Great location, food and ambiance. Perfect spot for catching up with friends.
My family is in town to visit my brother and heard great things about Union Kitchen! My husband loved the Jambalaya and I was a huge fan of the chicken pesto flatbread. Highly recommend the big fat cookie for dessert!
The food was great and the server was very attentive.
Great meal with great service.
Great location in the midst of the Gaslamp! Super yummy options, a little pricey. $15-25 meals. Very modern & trendy looking! We had an awesome server & loved the high top tables with comfy seats!!
Union Kitchen and Tap is a decent choice for a downtown restaurant. Our server was nice, but didn't seem to have a grasp on the IPAs they had on tap. When we asked about the kinds of IPAs they had, our server pointed to each IPA on the menu. Nice try, but swing and a miss. Two of our entrees were missing ingredients that were listed on the menu. The ambience is pretty cool. If you have an encyclopedic knowledge of all the IPAs typically served at San Diego tap rooms, and you can live with getting decent food that may be missing some ingredients, then why not try Union Kitchen and Tap. Salud.
The restaurant had great service, but below average food
The experience started off great but after our order was taken = we had to remind our server we ordered drinks, never was checked on, never had a water refill... then the sun came out (we were sitting outside) which was nice at first, but when half of my body began to bake I realized the other tables had servers bringing them water, chatting with them & even opened patio umbrellas to shade them! We also had to ask for our check... and then wait forever for it?!? The food was great & maybe our server lost her vibe for the day... maybe it was just us 🤷🏻♀️
A really fun place to enjoy some tasty food.
Discovered Union had a location in Gaslamp on OpenTable! SO AWESOME! Great food, amazing service, such a great time.
Great place to catch a bite before a game or event at Petco Park. The house salad was underwhelming but their burger was delicious! Nice outdoor seating, great for some people watching.
We got seated right away. Our waitress was great. We ordered a few steaks at our table, the medium rare steaks had no pink, they all came out cooked medium/ medium well. Cornbread was fantastic. One of the staff tried to take our plates but everyone was still eating and had food on their plates. Not sure why they were trying to rush us.
Maria our server was very knowledgeable about the menu & was always on top of refilling our drinks without asking. Our food was just amazing, so many good, unique items to choose from.
We enjoyed this venue. Nothing was spectacular but everything was very good. We would return here for sure.
Took my two boys (ages 9 and 10) there after a Padres game to grab dinner. Food was delicious. The NBA finals games was playing on all the TV’s. Atmosphere was perfect!
We enjoyed our Mother’s Day brunch and our server was very sweet and attentive! My only complaint would be that we had looked at the menu beforehand and there was a good selection for brunch items however upon arrival, we were given a menu with more lunch type items and the only brunch was the Mother’s Day Buffet at $35/person. It was good but not my intent to pay $35/person.
The food was surprisingly good. Why was I surprised? The restaurant is an upscale bar in the front with dinning tables in the back that you can only get to walking through the drinking area. But like pubs in Europe, the food offering was carried, tasty and had a very nice presentation. The server was friendly and on it. We went at 5:30pm so it was relaxed and quiet. I plan to go back.
Ambiance poor food quality less than average, service above average. Will not return due to ambiance an poor quality of food
Fries were cold. Soda was flat. Waitress was not very attentive.
It took two hours to get my meal
Great service & good food. Perfect stop before or after a Padres game (or during if you don't have tickets)
Great burger. Friendly staff. You can’t go wrong with this bar. Make sure in kids meals you ask them not to over cook the burger they do them well done for kids.
Our server was outstanding! Very accommodating! On top of everything! Enjoyed!
The food was horrible. I ordered gumbo. It looked and tasted like crap. The server got mad at me for askubg for it to be returned even though I ordered something more expensive instead. Their appetizers are decent though.
I like the high top seating in general and better with the booth seating. Nice selection of brews and a full bar. A very nice selection of unique variations of brew house food.
Birthday dinner before the Padres game. Perfect spot within walking distance with great staff and food/drinks.
Great food and ambience. Loved the live music. It made for a perfect Sunday Brunch vibe.
