Owners, Susan and Ben Roberts partnered up with brothers Wes and Chris Wheeler in 2015 and we invite you to enjoy our Contemporary American Cuisine where we utilize Classical French cooking techniques with global influences.
Our beverage program includes a full bar, wonderful local craft beers, and a 150 bottle wine list with 50+ wines by the glass for which Undercurrent has been recognized by both Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. We have been rated consistently tops in our class of restaurants.
The ambiance is truly one of the nicest in the area with ample space for you while dining. We now have a truly fabulous patio area. We seat our patio on a "first come first served basis".

This restaurant lives up to the hype for sure. My wife and I met some good friends here during a Romantic getaway for dinner.

We ordered the crab appetizer and it was excellent. For the main course she had the duck and I had the trout. I ordered the half plate. Both were excellent and had plenty of food for us to share and have our fill. For dessert we split the cheesecake, also excellent. I had a dirty martini and they got it perfect with my request of using potato vodka. One of the best martinis I have had in a while.

The only thing "lacking" (and this is purely opinion) was the wine list - the price didn't match the vintage/winery. Also, they should add a couple cabs / merlots from Alexander Valley by the glass (they only had one Alexander Valley selection; bottle only). This ended up being a good thing for me as I ordered the martini in lieu of wine.

The place was great for conversation, we never felt like we had to talk any louder than normal and we didn't notice anyone else's conversations. Parking wasn't a problem either. Our waitress was very attentive, and we lacked nothing when it came to water refills, timeliness of orders, and recommendations off the menu. We were a little concerned about dress code; I was wearing slacks and a sweater and she just looks good no matter what she wears. We noticed people in nice jeans and collared shirts, so it is a non issue as long as you don't show up in shorts, wear t-shirts, or ripped jeans.

Also, just my thoughts here, I don't recommend bringing little kids or crying babies. I think this is a place parents like us attend in order to get away from that. Give your kids to the in-laws / good friends for a night, LOL.

A special date from Russia and I dined at the Undercurrent Restaurant for the first time in mid-February, 2018. Due to work conflicts, we were celebrating a belated Valentine's Day dinner. The staff were extremely helpful and the specials they related all sounded appetising. My date ordered the tuna special on a bed of couscous and I had the salmon in an orange ice cream sauce; both were cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty. Together with an always incredible sauvignon blanc with grapefruit highlights from Marlboro, New Zealand, the dining experience surpassed all expectations. We will return in the future to try other dishes and celebrate special occasions at the Undercurrent Restaurant.

This was only our second visit but have been extremely pleased on both occasions; the food, friendly service and quiet atmosphere have definitely made this one of our top restaurants in Greensboro. We took advantage of free corkage Friday which makes it a more affordable experience. Our server, Ellie, was friendly and personable, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive but not lurking. The two appetizers and dessert was just the right amount of food for us and all was delicious! We will definitely come back soon.

Four of us met for dinner and all agreed it was one of the best dining experiences that we have had in a long time. We've dined in some of the finest restaurants in the world, so this is saying a lot for Undercurrent.
From the hostess asking if we preferred white or black napkins, to our server Calvin being excellent and of course the food which was fabulous our experience was truly great.
Our only issue is that this great restaurant is over and hour and a half from our homes so will be hard to go to on a regular basis.

Outstanding service from Scott plus excellent food - an appetizer to share of crab, two of us had tuna with Israeli couscous and the other had green eggs and ham tart. Great food, great evening.

My husband and I went to Undercurrent for Valentines Day. The staff were very friendly, our hostess seated us at a little corner table which was romantic and quiet. Our appetizer of lobster and shrimp spring rolls was elegant and delicious. My husband got the scallops and I got the trout. Each dish was exquisitely prepared and extremely tasty. Thank you!

I found it odd that being the first patrons there at 11:30 AM that the parking lot was full. I mentioned this to the waitress and she stated that most of the employees park there since it's the only free parking. I think management should accommodate employees by providing parking that did not take parking away from paying customers. I had to pay for parking.
