Always great to dine at Undercurrent; always a surprise to see what combinations and pairings are incorporated for the seasonal menus. The duck I had did not disappoint - it was fabulous! Being a duck breast (as opposed to being a leg quarter), it was treated with gentle heat giving it a medium / medium-rare finish. The Philadelphia Pepper Pot Soup as a starter was also fabulous. Calamari with crawfish sauce (as opposed to an Italian treatment, using marinara) was the star of the evening - a bold and risky pairing that was perfectly executed. Our server, Peter, was enthusiastic, attentive, friendly and provided excellent insights regarding the menu. A+++++++
We ordered scallops and trout, except the 3 scallops , the rest of the food including fish and vegetables and rice are too salty the pecan cheese cake is good
One of the best contemporary american dinners I've had in a while. We got the lobster spring roll with the most amazing ginger sauce, followed by perfectly balanced salmon and flounder entrees. The blueberry bread pudding that we ended with was out of the world. Great service, great food. Just sad that I did not find this experience sooner!
Fabulous! As always!
Everything was awesome as usual. From the greeting to the pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable service, to every course of the meal, The Undercurrent is always my favorite place to dine.
The food was imaginative yet approachable and delicious! The service was friendly, professional, and well paced. Beautiful atmosphere. We will be back!
Brought my friend for her birthday and they made it very special. The food was great and so was the service. Thank you.
The food was fantastic. I appreciate the option to choose a small plate entrée, which allowed me to try a salad and dessert. Special thanks to Alvin for his on point recommendations!
Very nice restaurant, I had the chicken and my friend had the trout . We both enjoyed are meal . I like the farm to table seasonal fare .
Undercurrent was okay. The food wasn't exceptional and one of the dishes Apple/Onion Tart was horrible. The service was okay. The restaurant is very nice. The food wasn't at the level I expected
for the price charged.
It's a place that if you are not celebrating something special, the ambiance, service and food make it something special.
This is the best meal in North Carolina.
We celebrated our 22nd anniversary. We first started eating at the Undercurrent when we were dating. Since then the location has changed, the spelling of the name has changed, and there have been several ownership changes. Through all of that, the food has been wonderful and it has remained our favorite Greensboro restaurant. Our meal was wonderful as always and a most enjoyable evening of celebration with my beautiful bride. Thank you Undercurrent!
Always great food. Great atmosphere and service. Love going to the Undercurrent.
My husband and I were visiting Greensboro for the first time. I looked at reviews and decided to try Undercurrents. It was an anniversary and I called ahead and asked for a quiet table and said that we were taking our time. Laura was our server and she was terrific. She provided excellent advice and several winning suggestions. I am very glad that we went and I would love to return
Really enjoyed the dishes, unique and well prepared.
Undercurrent is one of our favorites. We are lucky to have such a great fine dining experience in Greensboro, and our waiter Scott was wonderful. Undercurrent has been consistently a cut above in all areas for as long as we have been going there, probably over 15 years. Looking forward to next time.
Beautiful restaurant and food was excellent
We really like the service as well
Food and service were great. We would definitely recommend this place and will come back!
Great atmosphere and food! We enjoyed the service and location.
It was amazing! The staff, food and atmosphere were great! I’ll definitely be back 😄
Always delectable. Pork chop special was phenomenal. Chicken was too. I wanted to have each of the desserts. If there's one thing I'd change - bread. Don't know when or why they started adding olives, we prefer their original.
Great food, service and wonderful friends make for a wonderful time
First time here but will be back
We were celebrating my birthday before going to Triad Stage.
The service and food were very good.
It is always a good experience at undercurrent! Please put the wontons and the beef satay back on the appetizer menu… Those were some of the best dishes I’ve had all year! :-)
Sunday brunch was amazing! I highly recommend the Good Night Brother's omelette and Cinnamon Bun french toast. Prices were great as well. Service was outstanding. Definitely going back!
Having been to Undercurrent several times we decided to try their brunch. I ordered the Cinnamon Bun French Toast and while the flavor was okay it was just dry. Then when I was about finished a lady at the table next to us ordered the same thing.. When it came to their table I realized the whipped cream was left off mine. We did not receive glasses of water and had to ask for that after our food came.
Service was slow even thought the restaurant was not busy. This will be that last time we go to Undercurrent. To many better choices in town.
Always such a joy to have dinner at Undercurrent!
Great customer service here and excellent food. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. The scallop dish is my favorite and the blueberry bread pudding dessert is spectacular. We enjoy coming here because the staff is always kind and attentive, which is nice especially if you are bringing elderly or disabled loved ones to dine with you.
Great upscale restaurant in downtown Greensboro. Food and service were excellent.
We have not been to Undercurrent for a couple of years..no particular reason. Dinner tonight was great. Menu was great, as was the food. The quiet dining room was perfect for our catch up dinner with old friends. Other than a couple of minor server missteps (not our server) it was a very good dining experience.
We really enjoyed our meals and service, I’ve been twice and both times I was very impressed!! Everything was hot and tasty, the desserts were great! The sun reflects off the building next to the restaurant so it can be VERY bright at the front tables!
Food,service and atmosphere are excellent.!!!!
The outside seating on an August night was serene and relaxing. Inside is also quiet although the ambient temperature tends to be a bit cool for us. Service is very accommodating and the menu interesting and well-executed. We always eat there when in Greensboro.
Limited menu but what is on it is great, the service was exceptional ( my waiter was Garrett) the atmosphere was awesome as well, definitely a place to impress a love one.
Service was awesome, and the food was exceptional. Will go again
Good service, nice location, well decorated, good food. Will go again.
Two outstanding dishes. My wife Debbie had the skirt steak special. It was amazing!!! I had the Buttermilk Fried Joyce Farms Chicken Breast. Israeli Couscous, House Cured Bacon, Mushrooms, Gate City Harvest Kale, Rudd Farm Heirloom Tomato Sauce, Parmesan Crema, Gate City Harvest Cucumber Mostarda. Best chicken ever.
Thanks again for a great dinner.
Friendly service, tasty food, ambiance is ok, but the amount of food is a little too low.
Another delightful pre-theater dinner. Excellent service from Ryan. Cantaloupe gazpacho, salmon ceviche surprising mushroom and black bean fritters with daikon and watermelon rind pickles. All very good.
