Good food. Cool atmosphere. Great staff.
A couple of my friends were a bit concerned that the restaurant was too far. Well one trusted my judgement and we all had delicious meals. Not one disgruntled diner. Everything was perfect.
I love this place! Always feel like I am in a place far away! Love the food choices, and the desserts are to die for!!!
Dinner was amazing, and the portions were huge! We have leftovers for days. The empanadas and spring rolls were great, but don’t over order if you want room for dinner! Great service and vibe, we really enjoyed ourselves.
Went for Mother’s Day and had a good time. The place is very cute and the food was outstanding. We ended our meal with a piece of coconut cream pie that was out of this world. Only negative was our waiter was very slow. We think he forgot about us a few times so we had to ask the host for help. They did comp us the dessert to make up for it.
We’ve been here several times and had enjoyed it every time, so my husband made reservations for my birthday. Unfortunately, when we went this time, we did not have the same experience because our waitress seemed like she couldn’t of cared less about us. When she came by to take our order, I asked what the risotto of the day was and she seemed annoyed that I asked the question. After our meal, she just said, “anything else?” and we just got the feeling she wanted us to leave. One of the reasons why we used to like this place was for the desserts. But at that point, we didn’t want to deal with her anymore and said no. My husband then observed her rolling her eyes. We had dessert elsewhere. From the first moment she waited on us, she had an attitude. We observed the other servers and staff, and they seem to be much friendlier and attentive. We had a good experience the other times we visited and even met the owner. Too bad one person can make such a bad experience, that we probably won’t be back.
We had a great dinner, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. I highly recommend.
Our party of 7 was well-fed and well-taken care of. None of us had been there before nor heard anything about it but we followed the recommendation on TripAdvisor and are really pleased. Everyone thought their food was delicious, from appetizers of shrimp, egg rolls, and bacon-wrapped dates to the entrees of salmon, pork ossobuco, stuffed pork chop, and skirt steak. A few of us had desserts and they all drew raves. We recommend Under the Moon.
I love Under The Moon!!!
The food is DELICIOUS, the wait staff exceptional and the decor so different - brought me back to my childhood with the old tables, chairs, dishes, things on the walls, etc.
TOTALLY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE!!!
Very good food and very nice place for adults. I chose it as TripAdvisor said family-friendly, but wouldn't agree with that as other customers little comments about babies/ children; and there was no baby change so had to change a baby on the bathroom floor. Staff very welcoming of kids though and accommodating for them so they try to be family friendly but TripAdvisor got it wrong to advertise as family-friendly. Would definitely recommend going back, but best for adults only.
Great food, atmosphere, and service - highly recommend
This place was AMAZING! I took my dad and boyfriend here to try something new for my dad's birthday. We were not disappointed. The menu is so unique, we ordered a million things and all of it was delicious, and the servers were very nice. The owner is a lovely Argentinian woman who came by to talk with my dad about the cafe. It is a lovely space, beautiful decor, lots of character, and most importantly great food. 10/10 will be back.
Great food, friendly staff, quirky atmosphere!
Appetizers: flat bread was very good! Olives, pesto, roasted peppers... very crispy. Shrimp in pesto was less flavorful...
Dinner: Gnocchi ‘s were over cooked. Gorgonzola sauce tasted more like a vodka sauce. Disappointed.
Dessert: coconut cream pie... best part of the meal... sweet ... coconut and graham cracker in every bite! Lots of Tlc in this dessert.
This was our second visit and we took friends who had never been to Under the Moon. I made a reservation a week and a half ahead and rechecked it before we drove to the restaurant. But when we got there we were told that we missed our reservation and were a half hour late! Also told that they "saved" the table for us because they couldn't reach us by phone (of course, we were driving to the restaurant when they called my home). I was able to find my original email confirmation from Open Table, proving that I showed up at the correct time and wasn't late. I was disappointed that they didn't simply apologize, but instead blamed problems with Open Table.
Love the eclectic decor. Food was wonderful. So many wonderful choices. Great for sharing and trying new foods
wonderful eclectic menu. everything was delicious! They had a musician playing which added a special touch
Seems like the service at Under The Moon has become less consistant in the past 6 months. We usually go on a Saturday night, and although their volume of customers has increased,Under The Moon doesn't have the same level of service that it used to.For example, with 4 of us at the table, one of us didn't have any silverware. We needed to ask 3 times for someone to bring silverware to one of us,over about 10-15 minutes. We handed over a bottle of wine to be opened and waited also about 10-15 minutes for the opened bottle to arrive back at our table, and that's too long. So,certain annoying issues like that. The staff was harried, and it may be that with more customers, they need more staff.Otherwise, the food itself, and their desserts were fabulous,as always.
Going to Under The Moon is always a treat for us. We live in town and are never let down by the quality of their food, the fun decor and the lovely people who provide service. Pay attention to who you bring with you -- my mother, who has hearing aids, found it difficult to follow conversation with the noisy Sunday lunch crowd and was overwhelmed several times. Overall an excellent experience and we will eat there again soon, maybe even tonight!
Waited approx 15 minutes for anyone to come to the table after we were seated. I am fine with delayed service e but no explanation or apology offered. Soup and coffee(brought our after dessert) both served lukewarm. Dinner was very good and dessert was delicious but the service took away from the overall experience.
Food wasn’t as good as usual.
Always a great meal!
Great visit to Under the Moon as always! We had late dinner and enjoyed a variety of tapas! Zach was a wonderful server as was all the staff assisting!
A wonderful find in Bordentown, NJ. Food was well seasoned, served hot. Nice portions. Can't wait to return!
Warm and welcoming environment, attentive service, delicious food beautifully presented!
We had friends in town from the West Coast. Good food, interesting selection (including everything fro Vegan to carnivores), excellent service. Sorry we don't live closer.
Loved it!!! Very special ambiance.
The crepe strawberry shortcake was to die for! Can’t wait to go back!
I love this place; one of my favorite restaurants. A friend of mine met me for brunch on a Sunday and the food was fabulous. Our waiter; however, was not very good. He didn't come to check to see if we needed anything and pretty much ignored us. This is not the usual for this place; we have always had great service, so I don't know what why the service was poor this time. Just one of those things. The ambience here is great, too. I love the interior design!
My husband and I met with friends for lunch in Bordentown, a town full of character and charm. The service at Under The Moon Cafe was excellent, attentive staff, but not at all intrusive. I ordered the gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce, and it was very good, with all fresh ingredients. I wish the lighting was brighter to accommodate customers with poor vision. Overall, a delightful lunch experience.
Quaint cozy cafe with great food and service. BYOB
We had a great time. Food was well executed, and portions were enough to bring home but so good we didn’t leave any leftovers! Service was attentive and not intrusive. Definitely will return!!
Love the eclectic atmosphere of this small quaint restaurant in Bordentown. Food was superb. Highly recommended the salmon entree. Had already eaten there a few times before. Excellent and very friendly staff. Wonderful experience!
Great food and service as always!
My husband and I split the Kale salad special. It just wasn’t good. ThenI had the monk fish with olives.
Monk fish was tough! Then we had cappuccino - it was cold.
We have been to your restaurant Once before. It was greAt. This time - not a good food night. Our server Zach was great though.
Great food. Great service. So happy we went, we will definitely be back!
I meet friends there every other month or so (and actually twice this week). Seems like the dishes are getting saltier but the soups are seasonal and delicious (we always pray the soup of the day will be the squash soup the day we go), dishes are quite tasty, and the desserts, difficult to choose from, and then I usually take home half.
We dined here on a cold Tuesday night. I enjoyed several tapas including the octopus , cazuela de queso, dates, tostones, and the short rib tapa. Everything was superb. We had the filet special and pork chop as our entree. Our server sierah was phenomenal from start to finish. Not over bearing but just right. The tiramisu and peanut butter chocolate cheesecake were great as well. I recommend this place to any and all. Top class service and food. Thank you for a great meal Utm
