Under The Moon Cafe
We went for Valentine’s Day and lived it
Amazing as usual. We have been to Under the Moon several times. This was our first time having the Creme Brûlée pie dessert, and it was the highlight of our evening. There is always deliciously unique food choices. Everything was spectacular!
Took my parents for a Valentine lunch.
Everything taste great. Love the decor.
Had dinner Saturday 2/8 w mom who comes here often. She ordered the gnocchi. The sauce was delicious but the gnocchi were the size of golf balls!! Tasted like a ball of heavy raw potato and dough. She couldn't eat them, very surprised!
Not sure what the chef was thinking!! Gnocchi should be the size of your finger tip. Mom couldn't eat them. Our waitress Maryann was wonderful and we did not get charged for it, but that wasn't the point. She wanted to be sure the chef got the message
about the size of the gnocchi. We have never seen gnocchi that size before and believe me we've eaten many many places and made them ourselves. Hoping this gets back to the chef. However, my dinner"braised short ribs" was delicious.
I LOVED this restaurant. The food was amazing, our server was very friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. Fun atmosphere and eclectic menu. Definitely would recommend!
One of my favorite places. Food and service are outstanding.
Very cozy, boho, retro atmosphere. Delicious food and desserts. Great place to catch up and enjoy a great meal!
really cute ambiance! food and service were good/ok.
Under the moon Café is one of our favorites. It has a unique and eclectic menu with every dish well prepared and presented. Our server Shannon was friendly and efficient. The desserts are amazing as well. We love the Crepe cakes and the bread pudding!
It was great amd I would go back
Really enjoyable and our server was great
The server was excellent, food never disappoints. Great BYOB place to eat
The only BYOB left on Farnsworth Avenue. Glad it's still there. Parking can be challenging, but that's a Bordentown comment.
The salad, coq au vin and dessert were delish! The snapper was overcooked and “meh”. We will go back.
Excellent food and service!
We were a party of 4 and all thought that the appetizers and entrees were excellent. Food was plated beautifully, tasted great, and was a good portion size (half of my tuna entree was lunch the following day and still excellent). Courses were timed well and we never felt rushed. Service was attentive for ordering and for bringing courses - however they did not clear appetizer plates or offer clean silverware between entree and appetizers. I would also say that dessert was a disappointment- it was a cream pie that was basically a blob on a plate with chocolate sauce drizzled on it - compared to the gorgeous plating of everything else it was perplexing as they call out their desserts as being homemade. I would absolutely return to Under the Moon again and would absolutely recommend to friends- but would skip dessert in future.
New Year’s Eve
We went for New Years Eve, also our Anniversary. I called prior to ask about a set menu and was told No. As we are seat it was a set menu , but at this time we’re hungry! The food was food, could have been a few more choices. Not everyone likes seafood, lamb or duck! They did have steak but with seafood on top! We will go back and try again off regular menu.
We had the fixed menu for Christmas Eve. Everything was great. The courses were tasty. The portions were large. We had to take home the leftovers from the entree and desert.
Wonderful service! Loved our waitress Katherine, she did a fantastic job checking in a was on top of it! Will be back again, wonderful job by all staff!
Lovely place, great service. Food good, salmon a little dry and crab cake a little dry and pasty. Nice, festive outing in a cute, little town.
Had a holiday lunch with a group of girlfriends. Absolutely love the ambiance and decor, very eclectic. The food was delicious, everyone loved their meal. Will definitely be returning, possibly for dinner next time.
Love this place. Service is good and never had a bad meal. Like the eclectic menu
Enjoyed the new menu. Good service and eclectic ambiance.
Under the Moon Cafe is just fantastic! Great ambiance, delicious food and excellent service! Desserts are delicious too!
Wonderful menu. Everything was fresh and unique Desserts were amazing!
Our party of 4 was disappointed in our dinner here last Saturday, mainly because only 1 person enjoyed their food which was the Tuna. The salmon was very good, but the cold side couscous (salad?) was unpleasant. We shared the taste of appetizers of rice balls and egg-roll like items, but did not enjoy them, and the wedge red salad was so-so, unattractive looking as well. The ropa vieja unexpectedly had too much kick to it, but the rice & black beans with tostones (pressed fried plantain slices) were good. We have decided to go back to try out tapas next time, hoping the high variety of offerings will be enjoyed more. The place was packed so we think that we may simply not have chosen the best options. Worth trying it out!
The pork chops and gnocchi are wonderful
I have been to Under the Moon many times, and I've always walked away stuffed and happy! This time around was no different, but I will say, it was so noisy, that we couldn't have a proper conversation. Also, please bring back your Creamed Corn Brulee; it's absolutely the best!
Menu was unique with a great variety. We tried the tapas - delicious! And the desserts were fabulous. Our only issue was with the service. Servers appeared to be stretched too thin and responsible for more than just waiting tables. Our server was pleasant but slow.
It was a long time since I was last there, at the time I was entertaining business clients. It was our 34th wedding anniversary and I always wanted to go there with my wife. The place is great very eclectic which makes for a wonderful experience. I chose a chop my wife had a hammer steak both were fantastic. We are planning to go out with friends in a few weeks and have chosen to take them to Under the Moon.
Homey, tasteful decor. Excellent , unrushed service. Liked the tapas options. All were tasty. My filet was cooked to order and very tasty with nice veggie sides. Desserts very good and shareable. BYOB ! Charmy town location. Gr8 place to visit often +/or for special occasion.
It was a pleasant surprise. An eclectic cuban fusion theme and menu.
Tried new specials and the food was five star!
Food continues to improve... loved it
Warm and creative atmosphere.
Usually can’t compare most restaurants with NYC quality ..
Under the Moon rates right alongside top rated NYC
The food and service at Under The Moon Café was phenomenal!!!
The best salmon I have ever had. It was expensive but worth it.
Lunch on a Friday was a wonderful experience.
We tried a number of apps and shared some main courses.
And then came a standout dessert.
Bordentown has its own charm and history.
This place is certainly worth a visit.
Tuesdays ,Locals night. 3 course meal 23$.
It was excellent. Love this place! So eclectic. Byob
It was all the way around fantastic!
Food and service was outstanding. We sat at a table for two that was a bit too small. I requested a romantic table for two for a special occasion and wasn’t accommodated.
Very good food! Restaurant was pretty, a little loud though. Will eat there again.
