Uncommon Ground is one of Chicago's best farm-to-table restaurants. Whether an appetizer, hand-held or entree, you can be assured of a quality fresh food in a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. As Chicago's only organic brewery, you'll be introduced to a variety of small-batch beers. Also a favorite for Sunday brunch, Uncommon Ground is a great choice for either lunch or dinner. And don't forget; live music is just around the corner in Uncommon Ground's intimate setting.
A great spot with an excellent menu (lots of veg options), and wonderful service. Highly recommend.
Gluten free bun fell apart
Great food, service was not great as our table was forgotten about. Would still go back as I’m sure other servers are better.
First they put us in a back room with a bunch of furniture or something that looked like it could open to be a bar. You could barely hear and music even though ironically it was called the music room.. We then waited a long time for a waitress to come over and she was very unpleasant. We waited half an hour and still didn't even have our drinks. We hadn't even ordered food so we figured it would take forever to get it so we just left.
Delicious food! Outside tables were perfect.
Reservations are pointless here. They are not honored. We arrived to find that they were "overbooked" and we had to stand outside for 45 minutes until a table was ready. The point of making a reservation was to avoid having the put our name on a list and wait with everyone else outside for a table to open up. They shouldn't pretend to take reservations seriously if they don't actually hold a table for you.
Food is good. Atmosphere is good. Disappointed by the shoddy customer service.
Great dinner out at Uncommon Ground. First time dining here, after years of meaning to. Super easy with the reservations. Food was amazing, drinks were a little weak FYI.
Birthday Brunch before a Cubs game.
Low key, easy, not pretentious, just a good, relaxed meal. Great burger, chili and salads.
Food was very good and really enjoyed a nice evening sitting out on the patio space.
Awesome food/beer. Server didn’t come by table enough though
Amazing food and great service. Definitely a place I’ll come back to any time I visit Chicago!
The food was super good and the waitress we had was very nice!
The server seemed to forget about us, my plate was hot but food was cold. It had obviously sat on the warmer for a while.
We had a wonderful server Brendan who recommended an excellent beer. I can't wait to come back for dinner!
Great outdoor experience- friendly, safe and great food!
I haven’t been to this place in a while, I asked for a soy latte in the biggest cup they had and they brought it in a bowl, I was thrilled. I loved that they had vegan options and I had the vegan hash. It was fantastic. My 4yo loved their fluffy buttermilk pancakes as well.
Delicious, great service. Good for conversation over yummy drinks
Food was great and enjoyed my time here. Service was a bit slow but everyone was friendly.
Fun place for last minute date
Great neighborhood place with a commitment to ethically sourced food. Works very hard to keep everyone safe from COVID-19.
The servers nag you to put your mask on your face whenever they approach the table. I've been to dozens of restaurants in the neighborhood and they're the only one that does this. Kind of irritating, since they have plenty of room to stand a few feet back from the table. They also charge a 4% extra COVID fee, which I haven't seen from other places. FANTASTIC brunch meal though!
Savanah was AMAZING!! We celebrated Easter and my husband’s birthday. I absolutely loved the artist’s work displayed. I’m a woman of color and enjoyed seeing that embraced!
Great outdoor patio, service and food. Will be returning.
10 minutes to put drink orders in. 30 minutes to get the drinks. At a certain point, we started timing things it was taking too long.
Entrees and a round, 2 hour trip. 45 degree weather and I sunburned waiting so long.
4 other tables in the building. Won’t be back.
It was a lovely time at the restaurant, outdoor seating was wonderful and the heaters kept us warm on a chilly afternoon. The food was yummy and we had nice servers. Take a moment to enjoy this gem in Lakeview!
Russel was hands down the best server! I asked for beer recommendations and he was soooo knowledgeable and sweet! The food and beer is always great here!
Julianne was amazing! So fun and attentive. Great outdoor patio space :)
We went out to dine as it was. If the first times since covid 19 that we were able to. The servers took our drink orders for wine and beer . At the same time we placed our food order. The server bought our appetizer Mac and cheese plate.after about 45 to 50 minutes the server came and I inquired about our order .they never placed our order in. The kitchen.we arrived for out reservation at 730 we got our food after 915. No consideration was taken for mistake or even a verbal apology. We loved our entrees. But I will think twice about dining there again. I think there needs to be a manager watching the flow of the place and insure all workers doing what’s expected. There were lots of staff h Holding conversations and goofing off this mistake kids ruined a otherwise lovely meal
Brunch was delicious.
Service was great. Food was amazing. Will be visiting again.
Went on a Saturday night and got seated in the back room. Didn't have a problem with it until it was clear our waitress forgot about us. Our food came out cold or lukewarm, we could have all sent our food back but decided on sending the fries back considering they were beyond cold and not enjoyable at all. It's a shame since I had been wanting to try this place for so long and it disappointed so much. There was also a half eaten burger just sitting on the table next to us and it was uncomfortable to just have that so close and not cleared up.
I love the bloody Mary's here and the Sunrise Sammy for brunch!
Food was great, but service was slooowww.
We had a great dinner. Our server was kind and respectful. She was well versed in their menu items and made solid recommendations. Our table was near the kitchen so a bit cumbersome with Covid restrictions/masking, but the food and drinks were FANTASTIC. Would absolutely recommend.
Our server, Tyler, went above and beyond to make us comfortable on the outdoor patio during a slightly chilly day for outdoor dining. Everyone was attentive to us and the food and drinks were great!
The servers and staff were so attentive and friendly. Lots of outdoor space so tables were spread out.
