Uncommon Ground really prioritizes safety of customers. Tables really are 6 feet apart. They’re also set back on sidewalk so don’t have to worry about unmasked pedestrians and runners. And the staff wears their masks over their mouths and noses even when they think no one is looking. Plus the food is flat-out amazing.
The hostess was rude rude. There was an umbrella at an empty table that we asked if we could use, cause it was a hot day. She said “ that’s always a gamble when you sit outside”. We’re both servers we get people ask you for things that are annoying or rude when they ask, but neither of these things were true. The food was as always SO GOOD. But even the waiter was not really that great, I really hope it was just an off day for the restaurant because it’s one of my favorites
Everything is good here.
Great dinner with friends! Easy and casual spot with good food and drinks
We are outside at a socially distant table. Our waiter, Mitch, was very nice. Everything was very clean. Menus are on the website. Our ice tea was refreshed mid meal. The soup, salad and sandwiches were all tasty. Of course, Mitch and the other staff were masked. We made a reservation for lunch on Open Table and within 15 minutes sat down at the table.
Great brunch food, casual atmosphere, good service.
Came for Father’s day brunch. While their menu seems to have limited options, the food never disappoints. Wish they would expand the breakfast options a little more, but would still come back. The potatoes are to die for!
Beautiful urban garden boxes surrounding the outdoor eating area.
We ordered pulled pork tacos and the greens salad. Both were very good. The salad probably had too much kale, but I did not note the kale ingredient on the menu.
We had iced tea and diet soda.
Uncommon Ground has adapted to the patio format quite well. We did have reservations, which is required with such limited seating. The service was fine.
I really feel for the restaurants when so few people can be served at a given time. So more patience is required of all of us.
The Uncommon Ground staff had good social distancing practices, spaced the tables out well and staggered reservation times so people were not waiting together. If you want a tasty, wholesome, safe meal go here!
Liked the outdoor dining. Service and food are great
Brunch at Uncommon Ground is always delicious. Today I had their ham and cheese French toast and it was very good.
It was nice. The bacon wrapped meatloaf was amazing. The drinks were pretty strong. I would probably go back
Delicious and fresh meal! First meal out since the stay at home order and this was such a treat. Safe and friendly staff.
Great menu and beer selection. Service was tremendous with a smile(despite wearing a mask)
First dining experience post-quarentine and everything was perfect. Really nice staff, felt very safe, lovely outdoor space.
Post covid but still the same fantastic quality and service, thank you for making it such a great experience despite all that is going on!
Perfect experience on a patio! Helped us move the umbrella. Food was just okay.
The restaurant was closing at 8, and the server informed us of this when we arrived and that was fine because it was 7:10. However, the server didn’t even take our order until like 7:35 which was frustrating because we had to eat very fast. Normally I wouldn’t mind something like this but he only had two tables so we weren’t sure why he wasn’t around.
Great last brunch before the temporary closure. Fantastic Bloody Maria’s (with spicy housemade tequila) and huevos rancheros!
Amazing farm fresh food. Good service and very nice people.
Good food! It was wonderful to be able to order any beer, as all are gluten removed. The stout was a real treat.
I loved the brunch, came here for dinner and was very disappointed in the dinner menu and beer.
Great food, cozy ambiance and wonderful service!
I dined at the bar before seeing a play. My cocktail was delicious, as was the veggie chili and the vegan stir fry. I am allergic to sesame, and the bartender assured me the stir fry was sesame free. I would gladly return here in the future!
To be honest I’m pretty upset I chose this place for a special Valentine’s Day dinner. When we got there it took us 25 minutes to get a drink, and by the time the drinks got to us the ice was melted as though they had been sitting. I had to send back my dinner twice due to my steak being too raw. Luckily, with a past in the industry I knew none of this was on the server and she was nice enough to accommodate me with another meal. Overall not the best experience, but I think the server did great for what was thrown at her. Not her fault the kitchen can’t cook a steak
We were running so behind, actually got to Uncommon 45 minutes past our reservation time, due to traffic and our Lyft driver. Once we arrived, the host was super sweet and awesome, got us seated next to the fire which was perfect for my husband and I. I will recommend this place over and over again! We will make a point to make it to the Lakeview location!
The manager.. Jim and the waitress sarah were both great.
Wonderful food and service
Great service, good vibe, great food! I brought friends from out of town and they loved it.
I was meeting a dear friend in the city, who I hadn't seen in a long time, not far from where she lived. Hard to park near the restaurant. It was kind of cute and kind of trendy/informal. When my food arrived it wasn't hot anymore, as if it had been sitting around. The chilaquiles tasted okay but were greasy and gave me heartburn later (and I love and am seldom bothered by any kind of spicy food). I wished the corn chips were over to the side, and maybe fewer of them for the proportion of meat. I was glad I ordered the avocado; that was fresh and perfect. The coffee was very good but the service a bit lax. Surprised by all the pot dispensaries nearby with their security guards out front.
Everything was good. They didn’t update their online menu and my dish of choice is seasonal so I could not order it. I went there specifically for that dish so left a bit disappointed.
The best server in Chicago Mikeal!!! Go in and see him!!
Wonderful brunch! The food and service was great!
One of my favorite luncheon spots in the neighborhood.
Service was great, atmosphere was great....food was eh. We ordered artichoke dip, mac n cheese, pork belly, and soup. It was all pretty flavorless and not cheap. The pork belly had decent flavor, but was somehow tough to chew. I’ve eaten a lot of pork belly and I’ve never had pork belly that tough. The broccoli bed dad soup was ok but artichoke dip and Mac n cheese were flavorless.
Great plant-based options, excellent service!
The actual dining experience was great, but the person I spoke to to make the reservation was kind of mean.
We came for dinner after a long day of moving and building furniture. The server was attentive.
I got a glass of red wine, which was a nice pour and a good tasting Cab. For dinner, I got the vegan tacos - they were very filling and I only finished 2 of them. They had a nice kick to them. My daughter got the Beyond Burger. She asked for it without the cheese, but it came with the cheese. She said the burger was really good. It is served with a vegan special sauce - you might want it on the side. My son got a salad and his friend got the Korean Fried Calamari. It had a sweetness to it. The sweet and spicy sauce was more sweet than anything else. He would have preferred the Spicey.
We found the waiter and were able to pay.
We loved our visit! Great service and great food. Highly recommend.
