it was a unmitigated disaster. We did not get a notice they were closed. The address was wrong and we walked 4 unnecessary blocks in the cold as a result. i got a cold.!
They are idiots
Only thing of value was the mob-style atmosphere and classic Italian ambiance. The food was sub-par for the money. My seafood pasta was completely lacking flavour. Service was fast. But the food... c'mon!
Great food & great service!
Very quaint atmosphere.
First time and it was a great authentic experience.
I feel like ownership has changed, and the restaurant is struggling. The pizza crust was pre-made and cracker like, and the quality of the ingredients were not what I would expect for the price paid. The deserts were store-bought cakes, but they charged $10 a slice. Not a single other person came in while we were there for lunch when previously you couldn't get a seat without a reservation. The server was lovely, but I fear this place will not exist much longer.
Everything was amazing as usual except that there was a private party that went on after its scheduled closing time so it was louder than normal. Still happy to get a table though!
While the service was good and the atmosphere was quite and conducive for a dinner with friends, the menu was limited and found it pricey.
Lacklustre service. No Deseret menu offered. Seems not much effort.
I loved the atmosphere. The friendly service. Limited menu but I will e back when the full menu is out.
Limited menu options. I was disappointed with the limited selection on the menu, only one special and no indication when a full menu would be available
Good food and cozy atmosphere with nostalgic decor. Service was attentive.
Small and cozy and great staff. The atmosphere would be much better without the two tv's on the wall. The food is delicious but not generous. The pizza's are always a good choice.
First, let me say that this is one of our favorite restaurants. My wife and I chose this place for our rehearsal dinner and have returned every anniversary to celebrate. We had a reservation Saturday and noted it in our reservation that we were celebrating. We received no notice that it was a reduced/limited menu either through this app or online. I was even on the website that day. It explained why the restaurant was empty. We live the ambience and food. There were only salad apps and limited pastas and pizzas. Dessert was offered as red velvet cake?? The service was top notch as always! Our waiter took care of us and helped create a small antipasto plate to help us celebrate and a shot of lemoncello. The pastas were great but we were disappointed with the limited menu and unlike usual, no accordion player on a Weekend.
When booking it should be clarified that all their menu items are not available due to change of chefs
Wonderful homemade pasta in a charming, authentic, Italian restaurant. Great for a meal before a concert or sporting event!
Chef has changed in the last few months. Menu changed to basic and boring items. Had lasagne and eggplant parmigiana - both tasted awful and were drowned in tomato sauce. Pasta was soggy. A real shame as this had been my neighbourhood favourite Italian spot.
Everything at our visit this time was great. The menu had changed a bit since our last visit so we weren’t able to get some of our favs like the tasty Milanese Chicken. And the food was not as knockout spectacular as it has been in the past, but still very good. Our server was super attentive and very accommodating and gave just the right amount of attention with personality. Thoroughly enjoyed her!
Great time as usual! Happy to go back any time :) still hoping the Bianca pizza comes back soon!
We made an impromptu dinner reservation. I had the squash ravioli which was a bit bland. The service and atmosphere were fine. I was expecting more from a restaurant with high ratings.
Everything as usual was delish!
Our food experience was not as good as in past. The menu now sports affiliation with other restaurants suggesting new management. The 'special' chicken parmesan was overcooked and dry. The accompanying spaghetti had a relatively tasteless sauce. The appetizers however (caesar salad; antipasto plate) were good.
Our second time at Uncle Tony’s. Good cocktails, good salad, calamari wasn’t fabulous. Excellent pizza, great location. Will definitely be back.
Excellent service and pizza was fantastic. Ideal location and ambiance was excellent. Our server was fantastic.
It's a bit kitschy and they know it . . . Staff and servers are friendly which makes a big difference. The food was mediocre even though the pasta was a bit overcooked. The meatballs were a bit dry but passable. The ambiance seems to be the draw given its decor (checkered tablecloths, big red booths, etc) and style (a throwback to old school American-Italian). If you're looking for truly authentic, it doesn't quite pass muster, but for a pleasant evening of people-watching, it works well.
Staff wasn’t that welcoming and it’s considered pricy comparing it with the quality of served food.
Fun, Italian Restaurant! Enjoyed a quick meal before a concert. Service and food where good and loved the location, walking distance. Will come back again!
The menu was not what was advertised on the internet. With the number of restaurants around, your money and time would be better else where. Very disappointing experience.
Family Lunch..great tradition Italian food ..wonderful waitress service..tasty Menabrea Italian beer ..highly recommend
What a surprise, engaging staff , wonderful food , great music with a little twist
Always amazing. Food is great and the atmosphere. Customer service fantastic
First, the service was very good. The two servers that attended to us were very attentive and fun to be around. The ambience is very reminiscent of the sixties when Italian restaurants were becoming popular. A bit of a spoof on the Nona's eateries with the red checkered tablecloths, chianti bottle candleholders and accordion playing songster at the front playing all the old favourite tunes from the movie, "Godfather", etc. But the food was disappointing. While the pizza crust was very thin, which I was excited about, the tomato sauce was very acidity. I think it was canned sauce. The pepperoni was definitely store bought and not authentic. My wife's veal was thick and chewy, and certainly not veal provimi. We were disappointed and not sure how this restaurant is rated a "4" on Tripadvisor. I would give it a "3" tops, just because of the service.
Great to find such a gem in a city that has so many restaurants
Welcome lovely, food made to order and delicious 😋.. tiramisu was on point .. value excellent for a city centre restaurant .. all in all a lovely quick bite to eat :)
Uncle Tony's is a great place to go for good wholesome food and an interesting ambiance.
Always reliable food wise and the service has always been prompt and friendly.
Quaint little italian spot. Traditional decor. Food was very hot and right out of the kitchen. Webiste menu was old, so we were disappointed that there was not Caperse salad. Super tuscan wine for house wine was pretty darn good or the price. Service was good but the poor gal had to keep making excuses for things on the menu they didn’t have due to the new chef. Will go back likely.
A quirky little restaurant. The seating arrangements are very romantic and they play up the Italian-American theme very nicely, in the decor and music. Service was attentive and professional. The quality of the food was a bit of a mixed bag - some elements well executed, but in some cases overcooked. So, what you might expect from homecooking, but a bit below where it should be for this place.
Quiet early dinner. Very friendly staff! Veal marsala with fresh herbs, excellent thin crust pizza! Charming atmosphere!
Excellent food and excellent service. We were late for our reservation and they held it for us.
