Uncle Julio's - Reston Town Center
Uncle Julio’s menu also includes Tex-Mex classics such as tacos, enchiladas & tamales all with a selection of sauces made daily. Insider tip: order the tableside guacamole. It’s prepared for you at your table; if you like it spicy kick it up a notch with fresh chopped jalapenos.
Uncle Julio’s has a vast drink selection. Try our fresh margarita of the day, made to order with fresh fruit. If you prefer a frozen drink then the Swirl is definitely the perfect choice. The Swirl is frozen sangria & frozen margarita layered together dating back to 1987.
For reservations, please allow up to 15 minutes for us to prepare your table.
Heartbroken to report that Uncle Julio’s in Reston, once one of our favorite places, has gone downhill to the point we now prefer its sister restaurant in Loudoun. Dingy and unclean looking interior, watery salsa, watery beans, unresponsive service and just a mediocre overall experience. Never thought I’d say this after literally over 200 visits, but think we’re done there.
Everything ok, much better at lunchtime than at night - not sure why maybe fewer people and noise.
Good like to get more promo or coupons.
Very busy around dinner time, overall great experience. Waiter was excellent! He seated us! Would go back again maybe around a less busier time. We were there from 7-845.
I always love going to eat at uncle Julio’s it’s my favorite restaurant to eat with my family. But when I went this passed Friday out server jasmine was amazing!!!
The drinks brought to our table were dirty and had hard guacamole stains on them and a ton of finger prints. The water had black things floating in them and we quickly lost our appetite. Be sure to look at your utensils when you come here
They were very eager to take our orders as soon as we got there
Love this place. One of my favorite Mexican Food restaurants. Unlimited chips and great salsa.
My friends arrived early and the table I reserved was ready for them. The server was very helpful and friendly. Food was tasty, portions were large and everyone enjoyed their food.
On the way out one employee said Thanks for coming out in spite of the weather. It was cold.
Everybody was friendly. I highly recommend visiting.
Uncle Julios is always a "go to" fun place for us. We love their food and drinks. It is lively and gets you in good mood. This particular time we had a very rude server. She refused to clear dishes of the table even after we requested multiple time. As a result the table got very full with drink glasses, pales multiple trays with chips, salsa bowls, not to mention the dinner plates. It was practically impossible to sit there and eat. When she finally did clear the plates, she banged them on each other and spited the chips and food on us. The worse experience ever! Only goes to show how a server can make or break your experience - it is not just about food.
Tables are a bit small for all the plates. The service was wonderful, as was the food.
Great place, great food and family friendly! kids LOVE IT and the margaritas are perfect!
Wonderful time! Our waiter was out of this world! Enjoyed the food and drinks!
However, the vegetarian options are abysmal. I selected a Mexican place because, normally, I can get good veggie enchiladas etc., but here they only served peppers and onions. I was disappointed. I wasn't looking for gluten-free or vegan, just some good vegetable...
Food was surpringly delivered copy’s.
Great service great food The chips and salsa are the best
This is pretty standard fare for Tex-Mex food. In the past, the menu offered more vegetarian options. They have reduced their offerings, which is disappointing.
I love everything about uncle Julio’s it was my first time taking my husband and he absolutely fell in love with how smooth the staff and restaurant was. The food is always amazing
Our waiter was sooooo nice!
I live uncle Julio’s. We eat here pretty often and always enjoy great food and fast, attentive service. My only compliant is the bios level. It is NOISY! Maybe that’s part of the appeal. Anyway. We Leary’s get one of the fajita dishes and they always are great. Also, the guacamole is superb. We tried the pork tamales this time and they were outstanding.
Great waiter and food was great.
I really like Uncle Julio's in Reston - however the noise level is off the charts. The food is good along with the margueritas and the service is also very good. Also - for some reason - the food at this Uncle Julio's is much better than the Uncle Julio's in Ballston.
We showed up 5 mins earlier than our 715 pm reservation. We checked in and they handed us a pager and said they would seat us shortly. We waited 20 mins, husband went to check on our table and then they sat us. They forgot about us. I’m really not sure what would have happened if he didn’t check they probably would have given our table away. It was a busy Saturday night.
Average food - tortillas and tamales had an odd consistency. Tableside guacamole was bland. Outstanding service.
Did not get a table for 45 minutes past reservation time.
Really good Tex/Mex. If that’s what you’re looking for, it’s the best in the DC metro area! Lots of families and very busy. My family loves going there!
Fun and yummy
The food is usually very good. We always get a reservation because it gets crowded. The chips and salsa are always excellent, the queso and tableside guacamole and delicious. I love the fajitas both steak and chicken. My husband loves this restaurant. Me too. Great place for all ages. Loud so kids making noise doesn’t matter. The whole family can enjoy!! Highly recommend
Have been going to this location since 1993 (before Reston was as built up). Consistent menu with quality ingredients and good value for money. Wait staff is always friendly and super efficient. Our drinks, chips and salsa never got below 1/2 and the portions were great. Was a lovely lunch and would go back again in a heartbeat.
We went on Christmas Eve, specifically for the chocolate piñata which we thoroughly enjoyed. We’d been once before long ago and found the food okay, but nothing special. Again food was somewhat underwhelming. We have other places we prefer for Mexican food, but the piñata was fun and tasty (got the $25 one with more fruit). Drinks were also good and no complaints regarding service.
Manager comped us a guacamole board and a free dessert for my wife’s birthday.
UJ’s has been slipping in food quality lately - I hope it’s momentary, cuz for years it’s been superb!
Outstanding service and quality. The chocolate piñata was especially fun.
Both food and service were excellent. Considering the quality, the prices were justified.
Food was good, service was not. We went on a Sat evening, they were very busy. We had one of the inside tables. It was hard to flag servers down.
Would also recommend adding more lighting in the restaurant. Depending on where you sit, we could barely read the menu.
Sizzling fajitas didn’t sizzle and were lukewarm.
Service was great, food was wonderful, especially the table side Guacamole. Place was hopping on the Friday night before Christmas, yet the wait staff and hosts still made our party feel special.
Great food, but the service is normally lacking. This location takes customers for granted based upon the location and the fact that they have great food. Prepare yourself for the best beef fajitas around, but don’t get expect your waiter to check on you very often.
The server was horrible. There are no booths. The tables are crammed into this small corner restaurant. Uncle Julio's in Columbia, MD is way better.
Great food & service in a festive atmosphere-highly recommend the tableside guacamole & the original fajitas!
