Uncle Julio's - Loudoun
Uncle Julio’s menu also includes Tex-Mex classics such as tacos, enchiladas & tamales all with a selection of sauces made daily. Insider tip: order the tableside guacamole. It’s prepared for you at your table; if you like it spicy kick it up a notch with fresh chopped jalapenos.
Uncle Julio’s has a vast drink selection. Try our fresh margarita of the day, made to order with fresh fruit. If you prefer a frozen drink then the Swirl is definitely the perfect choice. The Swirl is frozen sangria & frozen margarita layered together dating back to 1987.
For reservations, please allow up to 15 minutes for us to prepare your table.
As usual a great experience
The service was the best we have had at this location. Unfortunately the restaurant did not seem to honor our reservation. We had to keep reminding them that we had made a reservation.
The food was great and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. My only problem was the hostess. She was talking with an attitude and on top of that even though we came ten minutes earlier than our reservation, we had to wait for 30 minutes more to get our reserved table. I don't see the point of reservation of a table if we still get to wait. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend who has a surprise party like we had because it took forever and I have zero trust now in that restaurant that it'd get the table on time. All the maanger said was that "he cannot kick the customers out for us".He obviously poor planned the seating and let people in when he shouldn't have. I'm very upset because it's one of my favorite restaurants and i live near by. I'd definitely not come back.
We had a great time celebrating my mom's 70th birthday with you! Thank you for the excellent service!
Ryan our server was exceptional, excellent atmosphere and food was very good , service was fast and we enjoyed our dining experience. Will definitely be back
Our server was very pleasant, but spoke very rapidly. I had to ask several times to have him repeat what he had said. The food was fantastic. Overall experience was very good. But, I'm glad that we arrived early on Friday evening. The tables quickly filled up and it became very, very noisy.
Table we were seated at was not clean. We had to ask two different people to wipe it off which they did but it was still dirty. Chairs also had old food still on them.
Food portions were very skimpy! Chicken casadias had very little filling in them. Restaurant very noisy during lunch! We were seated in front of a door in back room and it was very drafty.
Would not recommend this restaurant☹️
The waiter made the experience! The staff here is always super friendly and accommodating!
This was my 3rd time at this restaurant over the past few years. We had a party of 6 that included two children. I was extremely disappointed by the food and service provided. Out of the four adults, none of us ate more than half of our meal. Both of my children didn't like their kids meals, and we asked multiple times for a spoon for my 5 year old daughter because she wanted it to eat her beans with and we never received one. The initial delivery of food was wrong, the second time they got it right enough that we didn't want to wait for a 3rd try. At least the pinata was good!
Also, my mother took my 5 year old to the bathroom, and was confused as to why two servers were in the same stall together.
We left and noted that we had never had a bad experience at Matchbox.
The manager Ilham was exceptional!!!!! She accommodated our party and made my daughter feel extra special! She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect!!
Ilham, thank you so much for EVERYTHING you did!!
The food was below average and the service was so bad.
Food came out cold. Had to ask 3x to re-heat the food. Last time it came hot but with meat overcooked. Very disappointing.
It was very busy which put us behind on our reservation, but Travis (the manager) and staff made our evening spectacular! Kudos to them all. I always love the restaurant and this experience just made me love it more.
Even though they were very crowded we had great service and the food came very quickly. Great place to eat and lots of fun!
Too loud and has gotten too expensive. The fajitas for two should not be in the forty dollar range.
Our service was excellent and the food is always great
This was the second time we had been to Uncle Julio’s in as many years. The place is a bit on the pricey side. We spent around $170 on a family of 4. About the food, order anything on the grill and it is going to be good. The shrimps and chicken fajitas were excellent. Steak and Salmon were good too. What was surprisingly bad was the quality of the Nachos. The first bowl we got the Nachos were oily and broken up in tiny pieces. It seemed as if we got the bottom of the pile. We mentioned it to our server and he immediately replaced it with another one. This one, the size was a bit bigger however they were still quite oily and in some cases undercooked. The quality of Nachos in Guapos or Chipotle is way better than these. The Chocolate Piniate though was fun. The Churros were excellent and so was the chocolate.
Using open table was “ok”. Didn’t like that it forces a 1 1/2 hr advance on the reservation. Restaurant wasn’t busy enough to warrant that. Ended up switching to the walk-in wait list.
My 13 year old daughter and I were having a local getaway at Lansdowne Resort, and we chose Uncle Julio’s for dinner on our first night out. The service and food was amazing!
Nice restaurant overall and happy with my experience. The only real complaint from me is how loud the restaurant is. I could hardly hear the server, and my neighbor sitting next to me. I had to shout for folks at the far end of the table to hear me (party was six people). The music is the main culprit as it was drowning out all the other noise in the restaurant. Maybe the management and the staff is used to it, but it was a small relief to when we were outside and I could hear again, and converse without shouting or shifting close a persons ear for them to hear me. I am sure lots of folks do not mind this (it was crowded), but for me it was took a little away from my enjoyment of the food and the company. Food servings were huge and good (not spectacular), but in line with what I expected. Decent but unimaginative Tex-Mex. It is not a fine dining restaurant, but a chain restaurant, so this was to be expected and I graded the food according to chain restaurant standards, not foodie standards. The coolest thing was our chocolate pinata dessert, which was excellent! I recommend it for chocolate lovers, and it was lots of fun. The service was excellent and fast, and they were attentive throughout our meal.
That was more than I was expecting to write, but that was my experience. Decent food, excellent service, but really noisy.
We had a great time but overall it's VERY EXPENSIVE. Will probably only come back for a special occasion.
Lousy service - good food
My waiter appeared to be bussing tables and sweeping the floor - while we waited for our food
Two other large tables/parties received awesome service while we waited and had to ask for more chips
As always a delicious meal, love the fajitas! Food is extremely consistent as are the crowds fr dinner. Fine for kids.
My family has been coming to RioGrande for years! We have brought many of our families & friends here to celebrate almost every celebration there is!
We have noticed that their famous salsa has changed from large bowls down to very small ones in the last couple of years, very disappointed because it's so good! The biggest complaint that we have is when we order the fiatias the tortillas never seem to come when the rest of the meal is getting cold on the table! Having a swirl does seem make everything better!
Truly some of the best food around. Each time we come, we try something different and I'm beyond pleased each and every time. Excellent food, knowledgeable & courteous staff. We highly recommend the restaurant/location. A+
So accomadating for multiple modifications to our reservation and had the best service provided by Maria!!
The manager, Alex, was awesome and very attentive with our child with anaphylactic food allergies. He spoke with the chef and made sure our order came out and was safe for our son. Our waiter, Diego, was also wonderful. He was on top of everything during our entire dinner. The food is always delicious too!
Steak and tableside guacamole was delicious, but they need to improve bathroom situation. Chocolate piñata was fun, but we recommend a normal chocolate piñata, not Chocolate Lover's version.
Usually we have a good experience here. However not this last time. I made a reservation for 9pm, arrived at 8:54pm. However the hostess marked us late (per the manager) and didn’t seat us till 9:17pm. Meanwhile she never told me she didn’t mark my arrival correctly and kept saying they were cleaning a table for my husband and I. Once I got the manager involved suddenly our buzzer went off.
The manager apologized and said he would speak to them. He was friendly and apologetic.
It seems the place gets too busy for the young/teenage hostesses to handle.
Also- our food was not cooked properly. We ordered the steak & chicken fajitas for 2. Asked for steak to be medium, it was medium rare instead. Not to mention our food came 5 minutes after our guacamole & cheese appetizer.
While I appreciate them bringing food promptly, not having time to eat an appetizer is annoying and makes you feel rushed.
Needless to say we won’t be back. The Uncle Julio’s in Gainesville VA has much better service and the food generally comes out better and not as rushed.
Food was great. Had a 7 pm reservation, table was not ready until 7:25. Rough when you have a 3 year old with you. After we asked about the table, front of the house staff brought the kiddo an apple juice to occupy her which was greatly appreciated. Manager also offered a free app for our wait. Overall the food was good, service was a little slow. I’d definitely go back, but not on a weekend with the kiddo.
OpenTable reservation meant we hardly waited at all (less than 5 minutes for dinner time in a Friday evening during Christmas season isn’t too bad at all).
Fish tacos were great but wife’s dinner had a bit too much salty seasoning (more than normal).
We had a 5pm reservation and was told our server wasn’t there yet so I we had to wait...at 515 I went to hostess stand and asked if we could sit somewhere else. We were immediately taken to a table. One chair was wet, the floor around the table was dirty with food and kid menus. It took a while for a server to come to our table, we had to ask for water. We ordered an appetizer and when it came we had to wait for plates. You could tell the server was spread thin. He was trying his best.
All was good except waitress made a mistake with our order and one of our guests had to wait for food.
We love Uncle Julio’s! Great food-always.
Friendly staff and excellent food.
Serivce was slow
Tortillas were not fully cooked.
The fijatas with grilled veggies have no consistency in quantitie.
There was drama between hostess and manager that should not have happened in front of customers. They girls clear had no respect for their manager talked about her when she left. In their defense she was all over the place she couldn't decide who was a greater and kept changing it.
Over all worst time there
I come here a lot and I like the food but it's always SO LOUD, it's hard to have a real conversation.
Our first visit. Tableside guacamole was outstanding. We will be back.
