Baked Clams were delicious, NY Strip was perfect.
Our server was excellent as always , our train was running late so they held our table for us also . UJs is a great place for a quick meal or an excellent steak dinner
Place was fabulous with a friendly old school saloon feel!!
We LOVE Uncle Jack's and always make a stop there whenever we're in NYC. If you can find a better Kobe steak and sides with perfectly-made cocktails elsewhere, we haven't found it. Tried the lobster for the first time ever. Divine. The staff are pros, attentive without being overbearing, anticipating everything we could need and when. So happy to be back after the pandemic hiatus.
As always, consistently perfect food, service, and ambiance. Giovanni, Chris, and the entire staff were friendly and attentive. Still one of the best Steakhouses in NYC....and I am a native!
The food was exquisite and the service was incredible.
Nice bar, good bar tender. Beers great & the bar has a real feel of a New York steak House. The service is good & has that old NYC charm. My observation is the prices. They charge too much, with service charges & taxes add more than $100 dollars to a $220 meal for two, with drinks our bill was $545. The following day dinned @ Michelle star restaurant in Brooklyn which was much cheeper.
It was a truly delightful experience- excellent food (steaks, 4 sides, octopus app, chocolate soufflé desert was killer) - excellent service!
Great night with good food. Have dinner here at least once a month and always happy with the service and experience
A little pricey, but great steak, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere of old time charm
Quality steakhouse conveniently located near MSG just a short walk up 9th Ave
We had the most amazing family meal to celebrate our last night in New York. Food was delicious and waiters were very friendly. The restaurant had a great ambiance. Would totally recommend a visit.
Beautifully prepared steak. Service was good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Everything was wonderful. We were trying to take our time so we could see a show without too much wait time after dinner. The waiter was very accommodating in that regard-friendly and attentive. Food was excellent though the porter house for 2 was slightly overdone. However, still delicious. Would go back.
Food was outstanding, server was nice, attentive and made fantastic suggestions for us to be able to enjoy the food and drink. Went for wife’s birthday, she loved it!
Highly recommend! The best Steaks in the city.
The waiter was so busy that we had to keep waving him down for everything. The steak were not cooked properly.
Great place to eat!! Four of us there one of us got the waygu steak and our bill was still very reasonable. Staff was very friendly and helpful as one of our guests had a gluten allergy.
Loved it. Raw oysters not on the menu but they made a platter for me anyway and they were fantastic- everything delish!
The service was mediocre. Had to ask for things more than once and even brought the wrong thing once. One of the appetizers was cold. Server was not present as frequently as should be.
Everything we expected. If you’re looking for high-class dining, with a very welcoming staff, Uncle Jack’s is the spot!
Great food, probably one of the nicest steaks I’ve had.
Terrible filet mignon dry and overcooked. The waiter could care less when I complained. Made a reservation on open table that ran late due to traffic. I postponed the reservation and they didn't hold a table for me. Never go back ripoff at $55 for lousy piece of meat.
Service was fine. We ordered a filet mignon but it came out barely warm. I called the server over and expressed our displeasure and he had it reheated. It was better but not as it should have been. Improvements need to be made.
Best bartender ever! We had so much fun!
Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant and festive!
There is nothing glaringly wrong with Uncle Jack's Steakhouse. It's just that, at the price point and concept of a NYC steakhouse, it felt as if there was something lacking. The place is a cool building in Hell's Kitchen. The service was odd. We kept telling the server that we wanted to order to make a sporting event, but she didn't take our order. Turned out she wasn't our wait person, but she never told us that. When our wait person did come, she was somewhat aloof. Not the kind of engaging person one normally encounters at a high-end steakhouse. The food was good. Certainly better than average, but not stellar. The meat was dry and their were only 2 sauces offered, served in tiny portions. For some reason there were nuts of some sort in the creamed spinach which counted out two of our party who are allergic to nuts. The silverware was disorganized on the table. Most of us ended up eating our main meal with salad forks because we used the dinner fork for our appetizers and the waitstaff did not provide us with fresh silverware.
Bernie Our waiter was excellent. Truly made the meal enjoyable
Seafood appetizer was excellent. I ordered the tomahawk steak medium. It came medium rare to rare. It was bland. Service was excellent excellent.
This steakhouse is unreal. The 14oz filet was soft like butter. Highly recommend
Food was ok but missed almost the whole first period of the Rangers game due to slooooow service
Very busy for a Tuesday night. Food was ok, not bad but nothing special. Were short handed with wait staff and our server tried hard but we got our sides when we were pretty much finished with the main course. I don’t blame the server but everybody is short handed theses days
Fabulous spot to eat before a show or an event at the Garden or anytime! Third time I've been there and it never disappoints. And my husband and I aren't even red meat eaters! The tuna and salmon were superb, as are the drinks. We have a spacious booth and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The menu is pricey, but what in NYC isn't if you want quality food and service? Treat yourself and try Uncle Jack's.
Was a good experience. Service was great. Steak was a little overcooked but was good quality and tasted great. Sides and appetizers were great.
Anything OK. We will recommend this Restaurant !!
We enjoyed a delicious pre-concert dinner. Very attentive service. Will definitely come back!
Uncle Jacks had an amazing atmosphere, kind staff, and amazing food. We had dinner reservations at 6 and was seated immediately. Sadly though, they were short staffed and it was very clear. Our drinks came out immediately and our appetizers came shortly after. Yet, our entrées that we order with our food never came. We had a broadway play at 8pm a short subway ride away and we had to get the check without our main course at 7:45. They were nice and didn’t charge us for our steaks we ordered and never received. I would just be aware that it’s very apparent that they were short staffed and that did have a effect on service. If you have nowhere to be for awhile it’s a great place right now to get good food. Otherwise, I would go somewhere else.
We waiting 45 minutes for our meal. We sat down at 6PM. We would up missing the first five minutes of the Ranger game.
Wait staff was good but it looked like they were short help. The maître d keep dodging us when we caught his attention and asked him to come by our table.
Our dinners came out so late that we were ready to leave and just pay for our drinks and the appetizers.
Would have been nice if the maître d came by and explained what was going on and maybe offer us a drink for our inconvenience by that did not happen.
If you need to get to the Ranger game make sure you make your reservation for 5:30 or earlier.
Reservation Saturday December 4th.
Man who met us at front door would not let us in and told us the kitchen was closed. After telling him multiple times we had a reservation, we were finally let in.
The hostess was very nice.
Waited almost 30-40 minutes to get asked if we wanted water or anything to drink.
Very underwhelming. I’m very aware there are issues at every level when you dine out but it shouldn’t take a half hour to get a drink. They were out of several wines by the bottle and several menu items. We also felt the bigger tables were certainly more taken care of. There were only 2 tables when we got to our table so the service should have been better. The food was not hot when it got to our table. I will not be going back.
The steaks were fantastic. But the service was very slow. We asked for bread and butter. Instead of butter, they brought us a little thing of sour cream, which looked a lot like whipped butter. Apparently the same thing happened to the table next to us as well. My wife ordered a glass of Chardonnay, and upon tasting it she it was not good. They graciously replaced it with a different one, which was good, but the whole thing took longer than it should have and we had a show to catch. Food was FANTASTIC, but the service that night was not so great. Lots of mistakes. Mostly men eating there. I did not see any ladies
