Would have given a higher rating but the strip steak delivered to the table was so small and mis shapped, if it was my order, I would have sent it back. My friend ate and said it was good, but it was not acceptable from my point of view. My 8 oz filet was perfect. When your paying the NY price, they should not cut corners on the steak.
My son and I were in New York City over the weekend and we had a chance to dine here. The food and service were exceptional!
I have been to the other 2 Uncle Jack's so we were looking forward to dining at this one on the West side. The staff ( they couldn't do enough) and the ambiance was wonderful. However, my husband and our friend ordered the porterhouse for 2 and found the strip sirloin part very grizzly and tough to chew. They have had it in the other two Uncle Jack's where they enjoyed the dish emensly. We told them to tell the waiter but they did not want to make waves. Everything else was delicious.
What one should expectfrom one of NYC’s signature steak houses. Great meat, service and old-time ambience.
Best filet ever, juicy, tasty, thick, tender. Scott, our server, was attentive and thoroughly professional. The manager (Firuzeh?) came over and talked to us. She was solicitous and respectful in wanting to know how things were going. Yes, we had a good time. We'll be back...
"The best steak I've ever had in my life."
Granted, that's the $125 Kobe, but everything at this place is amazing. Perfect for a great meal before an event at Madison Square Garden.
Usually reliable but must have been over staffed. Service very slow and inattentive water glasses empty on many occasions and steak for two that should have come out of the kitchen sizzling was warm enough to eat but just barely. Will think twice before going back.
Not sure what the story is. Come here often, but haven’t been here for couple months. Waited forever for my cocktail and was sitting next to the bar so noticed it was not made correctly. Walk over to the bar to tell the bar tender that if that was my cocktail she didn’t make it right. She redid it. Then the bone in filet was all bone, nerve and fat. Maybe they are cutting cost but super disappointing, especially when deciding on a Friday night after stressful week whether to go home or go out for dinner.
The food was very good, however you pay top dollar.
Very unhappy with the filet mignonette.
I have eaten at jacks numerous times and always been happy with the experience. Last night for some reason the food was sub par. Baked potato was undercooked and worst the bone in filet was the fattiest I had ever had. Disappointing
Great food and location close to MSG.
Big disappointment regarding their supposed high standards about meat quality and being one of the best steakhouse in NY.
As always the atmosphere was a delightful
Up tone. The professionalism of everyone with a fun attitude & a smile with great service, included Mohammed, Luigi, Tahir & Nick!
It was fantastic, the food was good and the local was fine.
I can recomand the testaurant
Food was great and so was the service. I would definitely eat here again!
Excellent food and service-would come back anytime
old-school steakhouse done right. zero pretension. experienced waitstaff. great food.
Fantastic as always. Hidden treasure Best steakhouse in NY
Billy Joel. Great time
As always, very good food and reliable. Staff is attentive and friendly. Great for pre-game MSG
Birthday. They made my day very Special
Service was great, food was exceptional & atmosphere was fantastic
I used to count on Uncle Jacks for a fullfilling, fantastic classic steak dinner, but lately they have gone downhill. The side portions of gotten much smaller, in fact smaller than most restaurants yet three times as expensive. Food presentation was atrocious, even Red Lobster would do better. (The oysters appetizer at $24 was just thrown on plate with couple random pieces of lettuce) Overall, I can now say it is absolutely not worth the high price. They seriously need to up their game at these prices.
way too overpriced for what you get
$20 for 3 shrimps , $47 for lamb !!!
I was very disappointed the prices went up and the portions got smaller. I've been going there for 7 years. Now they don't give you bread on the table . You have to ask for it.... I will not return
THE ONLY THING I DISLIKE ABOUT THE RESTAURANT , IS THAT WE HAD AN EARLY RESERVATION , AND THEY STUCK US UPSTAIRS IN A CORNER - FOOD , WAITER AND SERVICE WAS GREAT
Our 1st time was last and strictly by accident while in the city w/ friends to see the Christmas show. We came back this year, especially during the Christmas season because I simply LOVE the decorations!
Great atmosphere wonderful Waite staff. Left knowing I would return many times
i'm not impressed at all, the lobster bisque i ordered was so salty, cannot even finish. the salmon was so tiny piece, only one or two bite. For the price i paid for is really not worth it. the beet salad was also tiny portion for the price, and the beet wasn't good or fresh at all. Our waiter wasn't that friendly neither, probably because it was busy. Don't think i will come back or recommend to anyone, sorry.
Great decor and the service and food were excellent
Uncle Jack's Westside is a little out of the way, which makes it possible to get a reservation! Service was excellent. Food was tasty. My daughter and I enjoyed sitting upstairs, where we could speak without shouting, overlooking the hubbub; downstairs would be fun for an after-work gathering of friends. Even though we ate modestly ( we split one of everything: Caesar salad, cauliflower, fries and a 12-oz. strip steak) and each had two glasses of house wines, the tab was $145 before tip. Still, it was a fun, classic NY steakhouse experience.
Great food, avg to below avg waiter.
Food was very good. Our steaks were cooked as requested. Waitstaff was very attentive without being overbearing. Constantly refilled our water glasses. We were not rushed out of there.
Filet was amazing. Mushrooms seasoned perfectly. Mac & Cheese good but not the best ever.
My server was a little off his game but the captain made every effort to recover.
I'll be back for sure.
Uncle Jack’s is a spot I will always visit when in NYC
Overall good. Not the best in the area, but ok. Issues with booking on Opentable. Somehow the restaurant shows unavailable even when the place is not full.
Food was good. Service was OK.
Great establishment for for a business, casual, or special occasion . The food and dining experience always exceeds my expectations. The Lobster Bisque soup is the best I've ever tasted.
