Uncle Jack's Steakhouse - Westside 9th Avenue Ratings and Reviews
Best filet ever, juicy, tasty, thick, tender. Scott, our server, was attentive and thoroughly professional. The manager (Firuzeh?) came over and talked to us. She was solicitous and respectful in wanting to know how things were going. Yes, we had a good time. We'll be back...
Usually reliable but must have been over staffed. Service very slow and inattentive water glasses empty on many occasions and steak for two that should have come out of the kitchen sizzling was warm enough to eat but just barely. Will think twice before going back.
I used to count on Uncle Jacks for a fullfilling, fantastic classic steak dinner, but lately they have gone downhill. The side portions of gotten much smaller, in fact smaller than most restaurants yet three times as expensive. Food presentation was atrocious, even Red Lobster would do better. (The oysters appetizer at $24 was just thrown on plate with couple random pieces of lettuce) Overall, I can now say it is absolutely not worth the high price. They seriously need to up their game at these prices.
i'm not impressed at all, the lobster bisque i ordered was so salty, cannot even finish. the salmon was so tiny piece, only one or two bite. For the price i paid for is really not worth it. the beet salad was also tiny portion for the price, and the beet wasn't good or fresh at all. Our waiter wasn't that friendly neither, probably because it was busy. Don't think i will come back or recommend to anyone, sorry.
Uncle Jack's Westside is a little out of the way, which makes it possible to get a reservation! Service was excellent. Food was tasty. My daughter and I enjoyed sitting upstairs, where we could speak without shouting, overlooking the hubbub; downstairs would be fun for an after-work gathering of friends. Even though we ate modestly ( we split one of everything: Caesar salad, cauliflower, fries and a 12-oz. strip steak) and each had two glasses of house wines, the tab was $145 before tip. Still, it was a fun, classic NY steakhouse experience.
The last few times we have dined there the service has been going downhill - the wait staff seems overwhelmed and cannot remember orders and frequently forgets to bring parts of the order. This last occasion the waiter was so overwhelmed that our CEO was told to shush...In the past, the service had been outstanding but has really been going downhill this past year.
