View Private Dining DetailsThe NY STRIP steak was incredible. Chocolate mousse was phenomenal. Great customer service!
This place caught our eye as we walked about the city. Great find - great food - great service. On a cold night, it offered a cozy warm atmosphere, and most impressive for a NYC restaurant: it was nice and quiet - conversation was easy to be heard. Would definitely recommend this steakhouse restaurant, and we ourselves will definitely return another time.
We went to Uncle Jacks on Sunday evening, we had three children with us and we were completely spoilt by the staff and restaurant. The staff were fantastic, the food was beautiful, perfectly cooked and fantastic portions. The restaurant did not disappoint. Thank you for making our last night in New York memorible event. I would recommend the restaurant to for couples, friends and families.
Fabulous service and food was great. Thank you. The wait staff were very kind and accommodating.
Very good. Great friendly service. Loves the Mac and cheese and truffle cauliflower. Great steak too!
Really great service; very professional and friendly. Nice old-school charm (like the bread board that was slightly charred from use over the years.) Like all steakhouses, a bit expensive because they serve the best meats and the "sides" start to add up. But we had a memorable meal and would recommend it as a steakhouse that's not a tourist trap.
Servers are spectacular and god is delicious!
The service was the highlight of this tired steakhouse. Can't say much for the décor and the steaks were not the BEST IN NYC. Not very busy for a Saturday night which may say something.
Bartender was AWESOME!! Made my Manhattan as I like it.
The Maple Glazed Bacon was the best dish of the night!!!! The Creamed Corn was unique and delicious.
Servers are perfect!
Perfect! Servers are wonderful!
We were in NYC for one night and wanted great food and a great experience. Uncle Jacks delivered both. It was icing on the cake that they had many different whiskeys and bourbons to choose from. Everything was a 10/10.
Great spot for a special occasion. Beautiful inside. Delicious steak but pricey.
Online reservation made, confirmation received, restaurant was closed despite normal business hours and confirmation - no notification send. Luckily we could settle an ad hoc reservation at a different place.
Food was great, but unfortunately a drunk group was seated next to us and decided that everyone within 5 tables should hear every word of their drunk conversation.
They now charge you $3 for bread.
Did not care for the sautéed onions on top.
Steaks were good.
Great steaks! Great service!! You can never go wrong eating at Uncle Jack's Steakhouse!!!
Excellent food and service
I was so excited about going to this restaurant as I am from Ireland but I found it to be very old fashioned and depressing I thought this would have been a lively buzzing restaurant the food was nice and service was good but I think it needs an update on decor
Great service and quality. Returning after 10 years and did not disappoint.
Family decided to go out for dinner and picked Uncle Jacks Steakhouse. The building is amazing with a great looking staircase. The tables are a nice size and the seats are very comfortable. The steak is very good. The lamb was not according to my wife. Also the truffle cauliflower was not good at all. My daughter had filet mignon and that was very good and my son and I shared the Yabba- dabba- do steak and it was very nice. The mac and cheese is very good. The problem I had with this place is that everything is itemized. I mean EVERYTHING! They charged us 3 bucks for break which is fine. I can see that. What I can't see is charging us 3 bucks for steak sauce. I mean for god sake I just bought a 140 dollar steak and you are going to nickel and dime me over steak sauce which in most places is complimentary. Give me a break. If you are looking for good steak this place is very good but be prepared to have every last dollar you have squeeze out of your wallet.
I expected much more than it was. The food is good of course but not exceptional or things I never ate before. Room not very enjoyable, tables all in a row, not great for a date.
Food was amazing!! Bread and dessert is to die for!!! Wanted to go back the next day for both!! Ambiance was great and service was perfect!! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Food was great but the service was a little slow for NYC. But very nice place with a classic Steakhouse feel. I paid $3 for BBQ sauce that was supposed to be Jack Steak sauce was the only negative.
I ordered the bone in filet. It was wat to fatty. Way to pricey overall.
I loved it here there was no downside to my visit i will
Be returning
Uncle Jack's Sunday Brunch was fantastic! I was both frightened yet eager to see how old my high school friends had gotten. I wanted to host this vanity threatening event at an appropriate
place representative of the middle aged station of our lives. Uncle Jack's came through
for us and I am grateful. I'm not saying that children err, younger people would not
appreciate it. But, it was great for us!
The midtown location was readily accessible, as was the staff. They were ready
to accommodate our changing party size. The tuxedoed servers were amicable
and efficient. They were ready to explain the menu, make recommendations,
and refill drinks. Fortunately, they did not tire.
As to Brunch, order what we called the "Melody Special." My buddy's girlfriend
had reviewed the brunch menu online the night before and suggested
that we try the Eggs Benedict over a crab cake on an English Muffin with hollandaise
sauce. It was money, Melody! Yeah, people still talk like that.
Thank you, Uncle Jack's, We'll be back.
I have previously been to the restaurant a few years back on my last visit to NYC and couldn’t wait to come back, however, it didn’t meet my expectations as previous. I brought my girlfriend along as I had explained that the steak here was amazing and we were both excited. I asked for my steak medium rare, So when the food came it was a shock that ‘The best Steakhouse in NYC’ couldn’t cook a steak to nothing that I asked for. The steak presented to me was more well done with no pink in the middle. Usually I would be polite and just eat the food put in front of me, but due to the very high price ($50 for Fillet Mignon 12oz), I had to send it back! Then I waited for approximately 5-10 minutes not knowing what was going on because the waiters just were no where to be seen!! Then eventually, the waiter appeared with a fresh steak and ‘complimentary brocolli’ due to the wait. I cut into the 2nd steak as the waiter watched over, then again the steak was not cooked to how I asked, however this time, being too hungry I just decided to smile and eat my over cooked steak. (If a steakhouse can’t cook a steak to how you ask, then somethings wrong). I left some of the steak because it far too overdone! After all this, to put the cherry on top, they had the cheek to push us towards a 18%-20% tip!!! NYC waiters rely upon tips, I get that, But that doesn’t mean they deserve one if the service is awful. The overall bill came to nearly $200!!! which was eye watering after the experience.
Service was great, but steak was overcooked. Requested medium rare and steak came completely charred on outside, grey almost all the way to center. As if steak was frozen since very middle was still a little red, but rest was beyond well done. Not the type to send food back, ever. Sides were fine and service helped make up for a lousy steak.
Very nice dinner great service great steaks
Thank you
My friends and I had a delicious meal at Uncle Jack's. We started off with a yummy bread with honey butter. Two of us had steaks and another the tuna. The food was perfect.
I highly recommend Uncle Jack's
outstanding steaks & service. Staff was very attentive just wish the double porterhouse was a little bigger
Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse never dissappoints. For the best cocktails, steaks and seafood, you must visit and bring your special someone to an evening at Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse. The delicious cuisine and warm and friendly staff can’t be duplicated. It’s a NYC must see.
We loved this restaurant! Great service. A little pricey but great!! Highly recommend!
So expensive and de steak not so good. The ambient is kind old.
Got into NY and wanted to go to a casual steakhouse and this one was near our hotel. It was a slow night, so we got seated quickly and the waitress took our drink order right away. For our meal order, there was a delay in her getting back to us, which became a theme for the night. I had the lamb and my wife a steak, we shared some steamed vegetables, as well. The food was great, not as good as some of the other steakhouses we’ve been to; but I’d put it in my top 10. Only issue was with the waitress, seemed to spend more time with her other tables and forgot about us. Like I said it was slow, only 6 tables with people. It got to the point we’re the guy busing our dishes took our second drink order and our desert order. She did show up at the end of the meal to give us the check and get the tip though, sure hope it was shared with the guy who spent most of the evening serving our table. My wife chalked it up to how we dressed, I did not want to change for dinner, so I was a bit Mose casual, in my jeans an flannel shirt, then the others in our section..
A little disappointed at the overall experience. It was my girlfriend's birthday which I indicated on the reservation yet they celebrated everyone elses and I had to tell them again about hers. Also, they seated us in between two other couples in spite of plenty of other more private tables. Just felt rushed the whole way thru. Her petite filet steak was very delicious, mine was mediocre and overcooked. Will not be returning to this location. The service and quality just didn't justify the cost.
I have been going to Uncle Jack's after a matinee for years. It never fails to meet expectations of outstanding food - excellent service - good variety on the menu - superb wine list with knowledgeable servers and bartenders to offer suggestions if you wish. NEVER DISAPPOINTS !!
We loved the Bacon appetizer and the Waygu ! The three of us shared everything from apps to entrees and dessert , every plate was clean! Delish! Service was awesome!
Lovely place!
The steaks were superb. Wines by the glass were very good. The bread and sides were marginal.
