Uncle Jack's Steakhouse - Midtown 56th Street Ratings and Reviews
Our second visit to Uncle Jacks from the Uk and it didn't disappoint. The fillet mignon was cooked to perfection and the sides of sautéed asparagus and garlic mash were a perfect accompaniment to our steaks. Service good and staff friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.
Food is delicious and tasting. Staff is helpful and friendly. The restaurant is a bit tight and packed with customers sitting close to each others which noise level is noticeable.
Overall, this is a great place for a special occasion who want to enjoy great food and cheer up together but not a business venue nor romantic place for dating couples.
I was really looking forward to dining at unclejacks but came out disappointed..Yes the staff were friendly but intrusive. We didnt get time to relax there were so many staff on top of us as soon as we sat down.By The end of our meal l couldn't get anyone's attention.Barely recognised The hostest when we arrived dressed really casual never introduced herself..The meal came to $200.was not worth that..My fish was really salty ..There was a French couple beside us asking the waiter about weight of meal and he was really rude to them..
Uncle Jack’s rarely disappoints. The porterhouse was delicious, and their Wagyu meatball appetizer is absolutely special! It was my guy’s birthday and they brought out a decadent chocolate dessert for him, on the house. The service is wonderful and the decor is elegant...it’s not your typical sawdust-on-the-floor steakhouse. I always enjoy myself at Uncle Jack’s and this is my favorite location.
Service here was excellent. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Steaks were a bit overcooked (asked for medium rare and got medium on a filet), but flavor was fantastic. Came here with my mother before a theater show. We're from out of town, so the experience was special. Would recommend to friends/family in the area.
Went twice on our visit to NYC and was really accomaditing on both occasions, first night was just a light snack as we had travelled from the uk. Had to go back as we had seen the yabba dabba do for two steak and it did not disappoint! A must visit if you like good steak!
We LOVED Jack's - food was delicious - service was amazing - our table was perfect, so elegant and cozy - we were in town with friends celebrating our 50th and their 35th wedding Anniversaries - we chose Jack's Steakhouse and were treated like royalty - we had a fantastic memorable celebration!!!
Overall great experience at this restaurant. The crab cakes and bacon wrapped shrimp was excellent. We decided to try the Waygu Ribeye, it was okay, steak was very fatty. Not worth the extra $$$. Regular ribeye if done properly is better than the Waygu Ribeye.
We had a Groupon for a5 course meal. Appetizers were good. My husband liked the meatballsI didn't, we both liked the thick cut bacon with the maple peanut sauce (delish). Salads were good too. Sides were good, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Now to the reason you go to a steak house. His filet mignon was undercooked mine was over cooked. We sent them back. Try #2: his steak was charred heavily on outside and mine was so salty, we sent them back. Try#3 His filet was undercooked again then they took it back and put on grill and presented him with same steak that he had already cut into. It was still not prepared properly but he ate it anyway. My NY strip was presented again and was cooked more than medium rare. I tried to eat it but it was tough and I had lost my appetite by then. To be very fair, the waitress was very professional but the manager was losing his patience with us. Our waitress also took the sides back each time to keep them warm so we could enjoy them with our steak. Good call! Cook the damn steaks properly the first time and you won't have to do this dance!! They did not charge us for the mediocre glad of red wine I drank. Their by the glass of reds are not particularly grand. A good steak needs a bold red with structure and character. Not their best night.
me and one of my lifelong friends were just looking to catch up
and I happen to have a groupon that I bought for this place for me and my girlfriend
so I ended up going with my buddy a lot of places I feel you get second rate service when you have a groupon not here!! we were treated like stars from start to finish
I will definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone...
Very nice to be able to hear your companions at dinner! I thought more expensive than some .
Interior is very old school, and a bit worn..could use some upgrades. BUT again, one of the few places i have been recently where you could actually hear each other.
Not a bad experience. They were very good about preparing the food to cope with a garlic allergy. Steaks were perfectly cooked but very salty. Meatballs were ok. Desert was presented nicely but I would guess not made on site. Service was excellent. Jose was knowledgeable and responsive.
We used Groupon for this dinner. Not sure $200 credit was credited properly. But excellent food and outstanding service. Waitr couldn't do enough for us. The resturant is not ADA compatible. No restroom on first floor and a set of curving stairs. I had to choose downstairs and no rest room or stairs and rest room No elevator. Disappointing for a rsstauramt with mulyiple locations. Dont know if they are ADA compatible butthis one is not. Overall good time with good food. WE may go again depending on disabilty level
Myself and my wife had dinner last friday. For starters i chose the shrimp cocktail my wife ordered the crab steaks which was stunning
I ordered the Trump strip my wife had the pork chop as mains.my steak was like the man himself TOUGH but not in a good way...
