Uncle Jack's Steakhouse - Bayside Ratings and Reviews
Took my wife, adult son, and his girlfriend to dinner. We did get seated on time, although the tables are jammed so close together I wasn't sure which table I was sitting at. We st for quite a while without anyone coming to greet us. Eventually a waiter came. No introduction. We ordered some wine, and then placed our dinner order. Bread? No. We eventually asked twice after our appetizers were delivered. We finally got some. Three of us order Filet Mignon on the Bone. Charred on the outside like every other good steakhouse? NO. All three had that telltale gray color that indicted it was not charred in the broiler; maybe not even seared? Also, the pricey truffle butter that I ordered was sitting atop someone else's steak (in fairness, quickly corrected by the waiter). I'm sorry, a gray Filet is not what I payed all that money for. Normally I would have sent them back, but this was the first time we'd invited our son's GF to a quality dinner, and I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. I expected better. We won't be returning.
It was a terrible evening. The food was horrible and 2 people got sick. The bathrooms are dirty and the place smells near the stairway. We called numerous times and Melissa was supposed to call us back. She did not. We spoke to a suppposely chief chef and he said he will email us and of course he did not. No one in this restaurant had the decency to call us back. We are going to call the health dept. I wouldn't give this place a one star. The steak was cold and you compare yourself to Peter Lugos. This restaurant is managed very poorly. I am contacting corporate.
I have been a customer of Uncle Jacks for a long time I have eaten in the two restaurants in the city but my local has been in Bayside. I usually go every three to four months but I will have to give more thought as to whether I will continue going there. The service was not what I have been accustomed to at this location the food was good but the restaurant itself I found lacking The chair I was seated on needed upholstering a sign that perhaps it has not got the supervision it once had. Very disappointed.
I took my friend for her birthday. I bought a Groupon. I felt like the food and service was different from their other customers. The waiter was not attentive. We had a long wait and we went on a Tuesday night. My friend ordered the fillet mignon but it had grizzle of fat all around and nerves in the middle, the maitre d did say he would make her another but you could see the quality given to the Groupon customers was different. On a whole I was disappointed.
The customer service here is unmatched. There was a miscommunication on opentable, there actually is no brunch here until 9/24. The restaurant still honored our reservation even though the restaurant wasn't even open yet. We had to have lunch as they werent prepared to serve brunch. The food was delicious as always. Uncle Jack's is my favorite restaurant with very good reason
We were celebrating our 9th anniversary and want to make it special. This was just the ticket. We were greet warmly, the attention to every detail made the experience perfect. Sergio was so friendly and attentive; he seem to anticipate what we needed! The ambiance was cozy and not too noisy; we could converse easily during the entire meal.
The meal itself was delicious, the steaks were cooked perfectly and the side dishes were very good. We all eat with out eyes and the presentation made the food all that more delectable!
We will be returning for another special occasion!
Nice local steakhouse with available valet parking. That's a nice touch because Bell can get pretty impossible with parking.
Food was delicious and our server was above and beyond. Only gripe was my husband's steak was overcooked when he asked for medium rare. They were very accommodating and got that squared away immediately. I can understand in busy kitchens things happen.
We will definitely return.
Our 30th wedding anniversary my wife and I had a 7pm Reservation- we arrived 10-15 minutes early but were seated immediately. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. The manager Tracy, was great. He made some wine recommendations that turned out to be excellent. For appetizers we shared the bacon, shrimp cocktail and iceberg lettuce wedge-all were terrific. The steaks were top notch, prepared exactly as we had requested. The garlic mashed potatoes were velvety and delicious, the sautéed onions were equally amazing. The meal, the service, exactly what you expect when dinning at a high end NY Steakhouse.
