The service was excellent and the food even better! One of our favorite spots to return to and it also felt very clean and covid safe during these unusual times.
Umi continues to exceed expectations in service and food quality. Too bad our governor is a moron and feels like seahawk players are more valuable than small business/restaurant owners. Umi employees are awesome!
Food was great. Was a little sad that they were out of the oyster shooters, one of my favorite things to order at Umi.
Good spot for dates due to the service and ambiance.
But for real sushi and food enthusiasts, it left much to be desired. Food was often warm rather than hot, leaving me to believe it was left in the kitchen for a while before it was served.
They have a large variety of fish, but it was not preserved well so I rarely tasted the full flavor. Probably why its your best bet to order rolls rather than nigiri or sashimi.
My wife and I were from out of town, thinking this was a good place. Spent $140 and was still hungry after.
If you go here, stick to sushi rolls and cooked dishes.
We saw the man that does the water more than our server. Our server took forever to even take our order and get our checks.
We were pleasantly surprised at how good the sushi was. We ate off the happy hour menu and then dove into some regular menu items as well. All was very good.
We went to celebrate my birthday. The food was amazing as usual but I was really surprised how un-covid friendly it felt. Instead of asking if we wanted more water they would just reach across our table over our food and refill our glasses. The water refills felt very aggressive every 5 minutes coming to the table and grabbing our glasses. I love this place but the covid friendly processes in place were not very covid friendly. Will be back but will wait until the pandemic cools down.
My wife and were in Seattle for work. I found Umi Sake on internet so we decided would try on our trip. Amazing, server was amazing, food was spectactular.
Great place.
Troy
Had reservations for 2 on a Sunday during HH. Ambiance and spacing guidelines for covid in the restaurant exceeded my expectations. HH prices were great and enjoyed a few rolls of the regular menu. Sushi tasted so good and just melts in tour mouth. Would definitely come back again.
Great food, atmosphere, and service
Found this place and it is my new favorite. Love coming here for the food, the ambiance, and the excellent service.
Our server Brad was helpful and attentive. The food and drink were very good. The Bangkok Tale drink was superb.
We loved the sushi.
Service, not so much.
Too slow. Waitress did not show up for 10 minutes. Hey, "it's COVID."
She didn't want to take our order. She's "busy." We had to insist that she take our order because we are hungry. (that's why we went to a restaurant.)
She was so sweet and cutesy when the check came. and 20% tip was already added in.
F@ck that.
"It's COVID."
Yeah, well, you're open for business. Act like it.
Overall it was a good experience. The only downside we were referred there by friends saying their Omesake is awesome. So we ordered a 100 dollar omesake for two people and we think it was a 7/10 where we thought it'd be a 9 or 10/10 from our friends.
brought wrong food, didn't offer to replace and kicked us out in one and half hour.
Very fun. Excellent sushi. Great service. Best sushi restaurant in Seattle
My husband and I had a reservation for 5:30pm and we were told our table was still occupied by the host, she was kind and it was not her fault as she was the only one working the front on a Saturday night. We were told at about 5:45pm that the table was still occupied due to the server offering another drink after the table had cashed out and they were still sitting enjoying their drinks even though the host had told the server that she needed that table. We were seated at 5:50-5:55pm. The server came by did not acknowledge the error, and stated that she was giving last call for HH. Not the best way to start our third anniversary dinner. I had come to this restaurant a few weeks previous for a co-workers birthday and it was great, service as well as food. We had the same server, but it did not seem like she was having a good night this visit. Either way, some kind effort to recover the beginning of our experience would have been appreciated. Even just a table touch by the manager on duty. It's the little details that help make the experience, and y'all missed the mark, for example, just giving the flavors of the mochi ice cream would have been nice, rather then stating there are four cut in half. Ok, that's great, what are the flavors, can you substitute? For spending $100+ it was just an ok visit to your establishment. Just thought you should know.
Service was friendly, food and drinks came out quickly, and all the rolls were so fresh and delicious we could not pick a favorite! We will definitely be back next time we are in Seattle!
I have been coming here for 13 years and it never disappoints. However, last night was probably the best visit yet! The food was phenomenal. The lobster bake blew me away. The lychee sake cocktail was the best drink I have ever had. I always tell people about Umi and bring friends whenever I can! Can’t wait to be back again soon to pig out some more!
This has yet to be ousted as my favorite sushi place in Seattle.
Amazing sushi. Great selection. Loved how they cut the rolls thin so it’s easy to eat. Fresh n delicious
Anniversary
Great food and great service! Rolls were fantastic and definitely recommend the Umi House roll!
The food did not disappoint. It was exceptionally good and the sake was even better. I suggest the Lychee Sake if you go!
Incredible place, can’t wait to return if I make it back to Seattle!
Great and fresh fish. Udon was also very authentic. Great service. Nice ambiance and wonderful sake selection!
Food was great and service was quick....a little too quick where it was obvious they wanted you to eat and leave.
Went for our anniversary. The fish was fresh and flavorful. We had the omakase sashimi platter. Each fish was delicately flavored with purpose. Our server also offered us free dessert for our anniversary! Would definitely come again
Great food, beautiful place, very reasonably priced for downtown Seattle.
Food is always great, but the portions are getting smaller and smaller.
Cute restaurant with great ambiance
Great place, excellent food & service
Great waitress brought us a birthday treat without being asked
Always great!
Food was excellent. Very dim lighting, perfect for date night
Food quality is incredible!
Incredible service, killer food. Did the full nigiri omakase and it was a touch too much for the two of us (in addition to a roll), but the fish was SUCH good quality that we made it through anyway.
Neighborhood gem with consistently great food!
Salmon sampler was fantastic as usual!
So glad they are safely open and look forward to coming by back.
The food was quick and very well prepared. Highly recommended
GREAT experience at Umi. The restaurant and staff have done an excellent job of following local C19 requirements and we felt good about being there. The sushi and sashimi and rolls were exquisite - fresh, beautifully arranged, and taste explosions to love everywhere. Cold unfiltered sake and a little dessert made the evening perfect along with great music playing everywhere. Loved it and can’t wait to go again!!
