Umi Sake House
W/ sweet chili lime sauce; green onions, salad & creamy yuzu
Food was great as usual. Happy pricing is on point!
It was a nice dinner, with good company. It was a bit busy for the server. The food presentation was spectacular and tasted delicious!
The food and ambiance are yummy though not many vegan options.
All was very good but where we were sitting the background music was quite loud.
This is literally the best sushi in town. Also, the calamari is world-class!
Stuck up, non-personal staff...
Squeezed between 2 drunk loud tables for a romantic birthday date
Food presentation looked like a blind person without talent prepared the meal
Will not return
It was amazing, had great experience
My favorite Sushi restaurant in Seattle. Now granted I've never gone to another sushi restaurant in my almost two years living here, but the food is so good that I don't want to . Insert Kanye shoulder shrug.
Creative sushi with plenty other gluten free options.
I used to think that Sushi, while pretty, was a bit bland and boring. Umi Sake House's chefs a poets of flavors. The Sushi is of course gorgeous but also oh so very tasty. Don't miss the Lychee Lemonade, a sweet perfume and titillation of the senses...
Great sushi and drinks as usual!
Havebeaten at Umi 25 times in the last 3 years. Every time is better than the last.
I love this place! Great food, great service, great ambiance! Inventive sushi menu! Fun happy hour.
Been coming for years, but seems like all of the rolls taste the same nowadays. Pretty good overall, but not an absolute gem like in year's past...
We tried to get seating at another sushi bar close by but the wait was long and we tried Umi based on a local’s recommendation. Really glad we did. We stumbled upon Umi’s happy hour which is a fantastic value. If the quality of the sashimi at happy hour is indicative of the quality rest assured any time will be good. In addition to sushi we tried the hot dishese such as the salmon collar which was fantastic. Good bar and ambiance, hip without being too hip. Friendly to all
Everything was great as always!
Service was a bit lacking at the sushi bar. Sushi chef’s were pretty inattentive.
Meet the boyfriend
Its just a bit on the expensive side. Food tastes great.
Always try and visit this restaurant when we visit Seattle.
Umi has great sushi, environment and service! Their happy hour is a great value. Random, but definitely try the oyster shooter!
Great reunion with old college friends
Had a terrible experience - not usually one to write bad reviews, as Umi used to be my go to spot for sushi in a great ambiance, but it was terrible on so many fronts. We were seated between two loud parties, one of which had a kid who threw a napkin in my face, but that's not necessarily the restaurants fault. What was inexcusable though, were the specialty rolls drowning in a oversweet cloying sauce so that you couldn't even taste the ingredients. Also, we were waiting over an hour for our last roll at which point we just cancelled the order, since it was probably going to mediocre anyway.
After cancelling, we lingered finishing our drinks in the half empty restaurant, when another server showed up and started yanking up chairs and pushing another table into ours while we were still sitting there. They could have easily seated that party over at the other side of the restaurant. In short, if you want to be fed terrible sushi and shoved out the door, come to Umi.
Sushi is fresh & delicious! Value for what you get is fair - somethings are overpriced. Drinks were awesome. They need to get new chairs in the back area - too short for their tables plus they’re cheap plastic outdoor chairs ... eeks! That was definitely a turnoff. Momiji which is their sister restaurant, is one notch up in every regard. But it’s very speedy too!
Excellent. I’m already thinking about my next meal here.
Excellent service and good portions. Highly recommend.
Greta date spot. Really created some good memories here. Highly recommend.
Good food, good atmosphere, good service. Can't expect more
I love umi!! This experience was different from my experience before because it was much louder and there was no happy hour menu offered on this day. It is one of my favorite sushi places but this time it wasn’t breathtaking. The sushi was double the price but not as good as I have experienced with the happy hour menu. I wasn’t mad but I brought a date and we both felt like it was, not necessarily a disappointment, but that we were unsatisfied.
Favorite Sushi House! The real deal HOLYFIELD
Visiting from SF and debated eating here verse Japonessa. Came to find the Hostess was incredibly rude, while the Bartender who served us never asked how our food was or if we needed anything. Ordered the calamari starter to find a hair. Was very disappointed by such a highly rated sushi bar. If you are up in the air between this place and Japonessa, take your money to Japonessa where they understand good service and excellent sushi.
Delicious food. Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Staff was attentive. It's a little noisy but not impossible to have a conversation.
We are returning customers. Our waiter was Chris and he was awesome. Recommended a bottle of Sake that blew us away. Will see you guys again and again.
Always a great neighborhood gem and some of the best sushi in town! Great staff too!
I love sushi!! This was terrific! The rolls were very fresh and super tasty. Highly recommend the OO7 and Rockstar rolls. And the sashimi was melt in your mouth perfect! I was meeting a friend that I had not seen in awhile. The service was perfect. Attentive but not too much so my friend and I could catch up. It was busy but not noisy. I loved it. Can't wait to go again!
Delicious food and good service. We arrived on time for our reservation but earlier patrons weren't clearing out. The staff handled it well and kept us updated.
Same story everytime we give this pace another chance, great food, slow service. We requested the counter to see if that would be better. We did get our food faster, but getting the check and to go boxes was like pulling teeth.
Great atmosphere and the service was really good , the sushi was great!
Everything is so fresh and so delish.
Great service and lovely atmosphere
We had a fabulous meal! Everything was outstanding: sashimi, nigiri, black cod, and the green tea tiramisu for my birthday dessert.
Great sushi! That happy hour is like the icing on the cake. Very much value for money.
