Umi is a Seattle institution. THE best/freshest tasting fish in the city.
Really nice place for happy hour. Food and service was great.
Solid experience this time, no difference to any other time. Happy Hour is Legit. Lobsta tails are fire! I'll be back! *In my terminator voice*
One of the best times I've had in Seattle!
Fun spot for a birthday dinner! Good happy hour menu.
Overpriced sushi place. The portions were small and quite disappointing. They were also a bit deformed. We spent more time waiting for a table and our order than we did eating. It was quite disappointing as so many reviews rated this place highly.
Very noisy place.... we got stuck in a corner table where you can’t move around so easily. Have to wait a while for our water to be refilled. Waitress was attentive but kinda slow at taking orders
I think this place is overrated. We are a little disappointed with the food. Couple items are good but overall I have to say is just so so!
Good food, drinks were disappointing
We had a blast and the food was delicious. Highly recommend for a nice date night with your significant other.
Creative, high quality sushi, very good drinks menu, professional service, high noise level that devalued all the good things.
Food was good. Service was just ok. Sushi roll menu was very heavy with cilantro. Spicy ginger chicken app was the standout.
This place was great. The fish was fresh and sushi was amazing.
The fried calamari were amazing! Friendly attentive service. Always enjoy eating there on my visits to Seattle, never disappoints.
Really exceptional experience. This is an establishment that has their act together.
Everything was great! Noise level was nuts. Chairs are lacking. Food and service was the best.
The food was amazing!! We kept ordering and ordering and had to stop the staff from removing our plates!! It was so good!! The staff is amazingly attentive and responsive. We were impressed by the amount of choices of rolls.
Had a great dinner with my girlfriend on our first night of our vacation.
I’ve been to Umi many times but was quite disappointed during my latest visit. I might have different expectations than others when it comes to COVID safety, but the tables were packed next to each other with about 10 inches between. The food was not as great as other visits, which was disappointing.
Always great at Umi. Good mixture of fantastic food and ambiance.
Our server provided the best service. She checked on us frequent enough. When she found out that we weren't pleased with a particular dish, she quickly replaced with something we asked without charge. That is what I call a great service.
There wasabi is wack… neon green and tasteless. No cap the wasabi in the grocery store sushi is better.
A lot on menu. Some yummy; some odd.
We were in town for the night and a friend had recommended we eat here. So glad we stopped by, we were seated right before happy hour was over and were able to order a few rolls off the HH menu. They were so good! The salmon roll was *chef’s kiss*. Very nice server and staff. And excellent prices too.
Loved being back at Umi after so long. The 007 roll was beautiful and as delicious as I remembered. Good service, nice vibe, just a really great experience.
Absolutely wonderful overall experience. Food was fabulous and service was excellent.
Overall I enjoyed myself
As always, absolutely delish ❤️
The takoyaki was very good. I came to Umi looking for an authentic Japanese experience. This is very much an American-Japanese restaurant. Maybe my expectations led to disappointment, but this was a miss for me.
Our server was excellent. The busser startled me when he dropped the water, plates, and silverware.
We sat at the sushi counter, but you can’t really see the sushi being made. We also got omakase, which was fine, but not true omakase. It was just a platter served at one time with all pieces on it.
Wine wasn't good but sushi was. It was quite busy with diners sat close together and noisy but not unpleasantly
Nigiri was terribly presented and cut. Fish not good.
Family date night was super chill, fun and delicious. Really cool sushi spot.
All of the rolls were exceptional as was the selection of sake and Japanese whiskey
Unassuming restaurant front. Once you enter there are two large dining areas with lots of great energy. It was very busy but it didn’t look like that at all until you walk in. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Considering how many people were in the restaurant, we were served quickly. The food was delicious and ambience was fun. Would definitely come back here again.
Was here with friends and it was amazing
The food is great here. Generous portions! I liked that almost as soon as we placed our order, ALL the food arrived. My only wish is I had someone explain the sake to me a little more. I had a flight but ordered not really understanding the various types and styles. That is the only thing I would change; the food was perfection!!
My wife and I came for happy hour and didn’t want to leave. Great food, awesome vibes, and a friendly waitstaff. Would definitely recommend!
The food was wonderful and we were lucky enough to be there for happy hour so it was super affordable too. Hostesses could have been a little more friendly but once past them the experience was great!
My daughter and I came during happy hour and ordered off the happy hour menu. The rolls were delicious (we loved the crunchy Seattle rolls) and the miso soup was perfect. Plus, due to happy hour prices, the entire meal was under $40. Will definitely come back if we are in this area again.
