Umi is a hidden gem of Pittsburgh. My husband and I went here for the first time and loved it. The vibes of the restaurant are very cool and authentic. The food was amazing and they surprisingly have a great and unique dessert menu. Highly recommend!
Always great and pricey but great nonetheless. Fresh ingredients skillfully prepared.
Beautiful food and great service every time.
For the price the sushi offerings werd very small and, therefor, over priced. I went to a similar restaurant on Lawrenceville where sushi was just as tasty, the portions larger and more reasonably priced and the ambiance just as pleasant.
Umi used to be the best sushi in town but sadly, no more. My yellowtail with jalapeño tasted bland & fishy! Not one new dish on the menu. Way over-priced for very small pieces of sushi. Decor is tired and worn out. So disappointed.
New Years eve
Our favorite restaurant anywhere. Mr. Shu is a genius, the service is amazing and the food is to die for.
Worst omakase experience ever. Got the same fish twice with only a raw garlic being added. The chef put cream cheese on one of the nigiri and a sliced cherry tomato. Plated were dirty and they used the same sweet sauce for almost every dish. Waste of money.
I have had Ben a server multiple times now. He is very knowledgeable on the menu and cares deeply for his guests experience. Ben is an asset to Umi. I look forward to dining here again. Food and service always exceed expectations.
Way too much money for the value delivered
