It was our anniversary and the dinner was perfect. The Shrimp Tempura and Hamachi Kama are our favorites along with Crunch Lobster roll. Did I mention there is unparalleled service at UMI? Thanks to all the staff
Great quality service and I love the new outdoor patio area beautiful
Our waiter was so wonderful and gave the BEST food recommendations. We can’t wait to go back. YUMMY YUMMY
Great night out for our 20th Anniversary. Best sushi in the ATL and the way they set up the social distancing tables was genius with the mannequins. Just one of the best spots in town.
It is like a car wash. You enter, order your food, eat it and have no more than one hour and a half to do it. You are invited to leave immediately after. Don’t spend too much time talking, just eat!
Amazing. Can’t wait to go back!!
This restaurant has a sophisticated menu and ambiance. Although this is primarily a sushi restaurant, there are hot/"kitchen" items on the menu. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. Portion sizes are moderate here; since they do not offer take away packaging, diners should be mindful of the amount of items they purchase. Additionally, since there is overlap on the menu of items you can find at lower-priced sushi restaurants, I recommend ordering the more unusual items, such as the wagyu and fatty tuna sushi, as opposed to spicy tuna and chicken teriyaki.
Unbelievably GOOD!!!!!! Highly recommend it!!!!!!
Really nice resturant with great food And nice ambience but could do better with the customer service.
Umi did a great job social distancing tables and adding "animals" in empty places.
Best sushi in the country.
Love the mannequin’s!
So much fun and the food is amazing. The staff is attentive and make great suggestions
Waited outside for over 30 mins with reservations, other than that great experience.
Limiting our Friday night dinner to 90 minutes was a real turn off quite rude in my opinion
Great atmosphere, customer service, and our waiter was super informed on all the dishes we were served. Loved loved loved. It’s pretty pricey, but super worth it especially for a date!
This restaurant is fantastic. From the food, to the decor to the service. 5 stars. Love the art installation and the incredible bonsai tree.
One of our favorites when we are in Atlanta. They did a great job with patio dining, providing more diners space to eat, yet keep socially distanced. The food is always well prepared, fresh and innovative, and the service is always good.
This is one of the top sushi experiences I’ve ever had. The Omakase was incredible
Wonderful!!! The moment you walk in, management to wait staff!!The new Bonzai room is spacious and cozy
The service was extremely disappointing. We were told multiple times that we were under an hour and a half time restriction; however no one came to our table within the first fifteen minutes. Our cocktails did not arrive until after our first course and I had to flag a server down every time someone wanted to order another course or cocktail. My guests said the food was delicious but they would never be back.
My Favorite Sushi Restaurant in ATL
Excellent service, had a great time with the family.
Exceptional food and service! Great anniversary experience! We enjoyed the new patio seating as well as the exclusive chocolate sphere!
So so so good, but loud
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Did not disappoint!
We asked the hostess could we sit outside beside we had a reservation. He told us no it was occupied when clearly it wasn’t (social distance) a white couple asked the same question after we walked away and he escorted them to the seat we requested, Little did he know the third member of are party heard everything. They HAD NO RESERVATION Never have i been treated with such racism. I love the food and the waiter was awesome. My birthday was ruined and i would rather give my money to charity vs being discriminated against. I will let my followers of 44k aware. Do better we have enough to deal with in the world
Always looking forward to a meal and a cocktail from UMI! YUM!
Tonight was the first time I sat in the back dining room— Not my favorite! Service (from the waiter down) was a bit slow for a Wednesday. All in all, once I had all the sauces/condiments I needed ( relish wasabi, siracha, soy sauce, ginger) the food was delicious as usual. Ultimately, I just miss being able to stroll in at any point during opening hours to enjoy a few cocktails, sushi rolls, and refined ambiance. Until next time— ;)
We tried lots of things and were impressed with everything! The salmon appetizer, tako nigiri, and hurricane roll were some of our favorites. I got a yummy glass of Riesling and the fluffy cheesecake for desert...also delish. The atmosphere and vibe were just right. I loved the decor and low lighting; it was great for date night. It’s not cheap but definitely worth the splurge. Can’t wait to go back!
The only complaint I have is that our reso was for 8:30pm. We were 15-ish min late and then couldn’t figure out where to park so we showed up closer to 8:50pm. I called to ask them about parking, so they knew we were on our way and trying to get there, but they deleted our name from the list anyway which forced us to wait in line. We finally sat down around 9:15. It wasn’t a big deal but was frustrating because our meal was rushed because the kitchen was closing soon after we sat down.
It was just ok. We were sat at our table within about 10 minutes of checking in but once at our table the service was SLOW. We watched another group at the far at end of our table be seated after us and get most of their meal before our server had even come to take our order. Food was a tad over priced for the quantity but I suppose you are buying the experience and the location?
Another side note - it was very dark inside.
It was great. Social distancing was practiced. No menus were used. Food was amazing as usual
The food was fabulous as always. A few things to mention - was NOT a fan of the goathead mannequins. They were creepy! Also, we had to get drinks and wait outside for social distancing purposes. There were tables, but no chairs. Didn't enjoy my wine as much with no place to sit. The hour and a half timetable wasn't too bad.
Great restaurant, the food was outstanding. Definitely would go back
Unmasked and perfect
I have never had a bad meal here and will continue coming! Our server Paul was awesome and how they're handling safety during the pandemic is great. The art installation was unique and so fun.
I chose Umi because I expected the fish selection and quality to be top notch. It was, with the minor reduction of species availability due to Covid.
Preparations were excellent. From the miso to the agedashi to the nigiri. Hokkaido uni to die for. All other sushi also. Speedy and thoughtful service. Great Sake selection.
My one gripe is that we couldn’t find the restaurant. Ok. We are from out of town, but , like a number of Buckhead restaurants, this one is located in the center of an under construction corporate block and there is no sign or I’d for the entrance. Super. If you are expecting a speakeasy. A real pain if u are just trying to make your precious reservation.
The hostess was busy w chatting w the people in front of the line and it took us over 10 minutes to check in. As a result we checked in at 6.47 instead of 6.45 - our reservation was at 6.30 and they have a 15 minutes grace period. They threw a fuss and finally seated us when I told them that our daughter was going to college. Then they refused to let suborder desert because we were out of our 1 hour and 10 minutes - an u pleasant experience
