About Uli's Restaurant
Uli's Restaurant is a White Rock institution. Opened in 1986 by Uli Blume, it was one of White Rock's original waterfront restaurants and quickly became a favourite among locals for its great food and friendly atmosphere. Uli's son Tyson took over operations in 2008 and he picked up right where his father left off – providing the White Rock waterfront with a fun and relaxed place to enjoy a vibrant atmosphere, stunning water views, refreshingly simple food, an extensive international beer list, and a diverse selection of wines. Chef Jennie Silk is also making quite an impression on locals as they flock for her impeccable local flavours on the menu.

Uli's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Great food as usual always something interesting to have there. The service was a little slow yesterday. I also think it is about time they do a update on there outside dining area. It is getting a bit tired for such a great place to eat with such superb foid.
Atmosphere was bustling and loud! Oktoberfest was in high gear!! Good times to be had by all!
The food unfortunately was a little disappointing. I ordered the Schnitzel and found it quite dry and tasteless. It didn’t come out hot either. My husband had their Oktoberfest special - beef roulade, and it wasn’t anything to write home about. We had a fabulous time anyways and will be going back to Uli’s again. We suspect that the food was not up to par because of how busy it was.
Uli's is a great place to go for a late lunch or to share appetizers & a glass of wine if you dont mind paying. I would recommend for dinner but only if the high prices reflected the calibre of food. Several of us have decided the food is quite good but does not match the prices charged. Bottles of wine seem somewhat pricey too. A dinner for two people including a shared appetizer, 2 main courses, 2 glasses of wine each, a shared dessert, 2 black coffees cost over $200 after tip. The restaurant is located in a prime location along Marine Dr & the outdoor seating area allows you a great view of the water. Usually very busy. Recommend making a reservation.
I discovered this restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and chose to visit again even though I live in Vancouver. Many of the restaurants along Marine Drive have wonderful food and great views, but what separates Ulis from the pack is that all the food is apparently fresh and homemade, even down to the ketchup which they make themselves. You can taste the difference. Plus their servers are super pleasant. That's why I gave them such high marks across the board. I rarely do that.
The staff are excellent, our server was everything we could have asked for; friendly, knowledgable, and had just the right amount of excitement in her role.
The patio is humble, but comfortable and if you don't mind the sound of motorcycles & old cars driving slowly down the strip you'll enjoy the beautiful semiahmoo bay and possibly catch sunset.
The food is delicious! They offer a very healthy portion of mussels & clams, I'd suggest sharing with 2+ persons, and excellent beer lists too!
The food was excellent and the service was just as good! The manager went out of her way on two occasions to better our dining experience without ever being asked to do so...she just had a sharp eye and it really went a long way to contribute to our overall experience. Location is also top notch. One of the best restaurants on the strip (if not THE best). Highly recommended.
We have been to Uli"s several times and especially like the Thursday paella night. The service was amazing! We had no less than 4 different severs attend to us. It seemed no server would pass our table without filling a water glass, clearing a dish or asking how everything was.
Recently moved to the area and was our first time at Uli's. Just a really great experience overall. Booked on OpenTable and made a few comments about our visit. We arrived a couple of minutes late, greeted very warmly by the hostess and seated at a great table with a terrific ocean view. Our server was really great, was great with our 2yr old daughter, listed off a plethora of secret, non menu, meal items that they could do. They easily accommodated my wife's food allergies which can sometimes be difficult. We spent 2 hours (and not because it was slow) enjoying our meal and our experience, which is difficult with a 2yr old in tow. Thanks Uli's, you left us with the new go too place that we were missing from home. Really appreciated everything.
Went as table of four, as we went a month ago with other Freinds and it was great. My issue was with the service, did not get offered anything from bar for ten min, after getting our water, asked server if they had and features and she replays not really? Asked what beer she recommended and she says there listed on menu? Get our first round of drinks , finish those and had to wait for her about twenty min to come back to table to get our appt order and second round of drinks. Then waited for ten more min to get the drinks?.... place was not that busy, as the other servers working the table behind us were giving great service. Appetizers and food arrived.. was good but not great like last time. Server was just not really into customer service , we dropped 250 bucks and left thinking we could have gone to Charlie's spent less and had a better experience.
Had the gravlax and clam chowder; superb !! and had an antique car show with our outdoor seating. Waiter also superp, actually offered my wife a blanket wrap around 9:00 when the sun went down. Only negative was overly spicy chicken on my wife's Caesar salad.
Excellent service, fantastic drinks, Uli's never disappoints. We had the charcuterie board for two and the crab cakes as appies shared between the three of us. Delicious start. Two of us went old school and ordered schnitzel. It was tender with a perfect crispy crust. Our friend raved about the duck confit, saying it was incredibly moist and tasty. Overall, wonderful experience as always.
It was Canada Day so it was incredibly busy. The owner was trying to get us nice seats and we were happy with everything. The food was pretty good, my pasta was really good but a little skimpy on the hoisin ribs. The restaurant was incredibly loud, uncomfortably loud but that was because it was just so busy and everyone was celebrating Canada Day! It was fun, the prices were good, the white sangria was awesome!! We wouldmhighly recommend and we would c e back!
Had a great table to watch the street action on Canada Day and take in the magnificent ocean vista. Our waiter provided great drinks served in classic vintage cocktail glasses that were served with a twist of dry wit. The food was fantastic and they made accommodations for my vegetarian choices. A great evening out!
The food was up to the standard we expect from Uli's. The crab cake appetizers were tasty with just the right amount of crispiness to the crust. I had the Forester schnitzel with a delicious mushroom sauce, and my wife, the famous Uli's burger (her favorite) on a Gluten-free bun.
The noise level and ambience is more appropriate for a casual meal rather than an intimate one. Our reserved table inside was good for people-watching, with a view of the "Drive" and the ocean, but the narrow aisle between us and the bar meant my wife's chair was continually being bumped by servers and patrons.
