Ulele Ratings and Reviews
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We both loved the place. It was loud, but the food and drinks were great. We wanted to sit outside, but it was too cold. We will definitely come back again. Our waitress was great as well. Made this an enjoyable evening.
Outstanding Tampa Restaurant. Excellent service, amazing food with very professional service. Overall a wonderful experience. It’s a little energetic noise wise because of the overwhelming success. The wine list is the best in Tampa for selection at really low prices! Make reservations early as it’s not easy to get in.
I'm never disappointed with the food or service. Impeccable attention and very accomodating. Ulele has always delivered when I've made reservations through Open Table with my special requests. I am a returning customer of at least 6 times and the experience is always outstanding. I have come with a small group as small as two and as large as 15. I've never had any issues with service or attention to detail the food is always fantastic.
I heard great things from friends about Ulele. My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and our expectations were surpassed. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and it’s in a great part of downtown. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The cornbread was actually life-changing. The service up to par with fine dining but it was definitely a more relaxed/casual dining experience. We will definitely be back for future date nights.
Be aware of the noise level - if you are getting together to talk, it was noisier than I personally like. Upstairs is a bit more quiet than the downstairs (TVs and bar and table seating). They do have flights of beer and their own crafted beer which is nice. Also outside seating with lovely water view when warmer.
I went here for my birthday with my family, and we were awestruck from the moment we laid eyes on the place. From the sculptures in the garden and view of the river, to the rustic interior, this place screams ambiance. Thankfully, the food was just as delicious as I had hoped, and the service was fast and attentive. I would recommend it to anyone who's visiting Tampa and wishes to check out a local hotspot.
Fun menu but incredibly salty. I literally couldn't eat the spinach that came with my snapper and started shaving off the outside of the fish to get at something that was caked in salt. We had to ask a hostess to get our server for us since she disappeared in the middle of our meal. The appetizers and desserts were quite good, but tread carefully with the main courses.
Ulele has a good vibe & lovely artistic presentation in their main foyer. Food was very good & would like to come back to try more things. It was very busy at lunch so service sometimes was a little slow. Overall, nice place!!! Tampa needs more restaurants like this one.
Ulele is unique! I live in an area north of Tampa where we have lots of restaurants up here but they’re mostly franchise commercial ones; they’re good but predictable! Besides I like to support independent restaurants! First off the parking is very easy. Then I take that short walk down to the restaurant stopping to see people renting bikes to ride down the Riverwalk, children splashing at the Water Works area, and the bumbling natural spring in front of the restaurant on the east side! The grounds are just beautifully landscaped all around it! There’s even an outdoor seating area with a bar! Then I see the attractive sculptures of the Indian Princess “Ulele” out in the lawn there in front of the gorgeous river! It is fun to sit and peoplewatch! Once inside you experience the well lit dining area full of natural light and raw materials decorated in a very contemporary fashion - yet knowing it’s historical presence makes it all the more special! The waiters are always are friendly and welcoming! It was a little too cool the day I went but my favorite part of this experience is when they open those large glass doors out towards the river and replace the loud chatter sound out w cool breezes comes flowing in! The most recent day I went was Jan. 11th, 2018. I reserved a lunch hour to celebrate our daughter’s 23rd birthday! She loves Ulele’s too! We always start out with their most interesting fried okra app! It’s not prepared all battered up and cut in small pieces like you get at most places! It’s cut vertically fried perfectly and served with a maranara type sauce! So fun! My daughter had the club sandwich which was wonderful and huge! Her husband had their thin steak which he enjoyed w mashed potatoes and green beans! I was delighted w my Gouda Grouper on wild rice w green beans! I usually order their special guava pie as it’s light and mild but that day we celebrated my daughter’s b’day with their coffee swirl ice cream instead! Delish! 😃
