Loved our server, and the food and the sunset and the food and the server... the food and server too!!
Food was amazing, services was fast and great. Can not get enough of this place
Great place in all the aspects. Outdoor seating not recommended after the rain since a lot of flies would bore you and came to your food.
Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. Great time and wonderful location.
Courtney was an excellent server!! Very attentive and friendly!!
Food very good but not the best I’ve ever had for sure. Wait staff was friendly but busy and could have been more attentive. Steak was great! Okra Fries is a must have
Great atmosphere! Unique food choices. Food is rich. We really enjoyed it
Lovely food and service, lovely setting and atmosphere, only downside there were no outside fans so it was quite hot.
VERY HOT UPSTAIRS SEATING NEEDS BETTER AC IS ONLY COMPLAINT
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home on the water. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The Charbroiled Oysters was amazing and the calamari appetizer was delicious. Our entrees included seafood risotto, Barry’s Tomahawk Pork Chop and Scallops, Shrimp ’N’ Grits were each exceptional. Service was well-timed and friendly, home-brewed beer was very tasty.
This was our first time at Ulele. I definitely recommend a reservstion. It was a great experience. Our waitress Jessi was awesome. Attentive, patient, answered all our questions and seemed to anticipate our needs. The foodod was great. We left very satisfied.
My food was too salty. Waiter was distracted.
Highly recommend the lobster claws cocktail. Oh my that is a treat!
Birthday Brunch - Ricardo was amazing!!
The place is SO loud you can't hear anyone at the table. Food was adequate at best. Waitress was nice but way overworked. Was rushing around like a crazy person.
We were very impressed with overall look of Ulele. There was a large Beer selection and our server was on the ball and pleasant. It has a very good menu with its own special twist on many meals. Portions are not huge, but satisfying.
The waiter was he issue. He was incredibly nice and had a great personality, but was so sloooooooowwwwwww it became ridiculous. If he would have gotten the food and drinks in a timely manner instead of talking to every table for a minimum of 5-10 minutes each, it would have been a fantastic meal.
One word "Outstanding"
I came here for lunch and drinks to celebrate my birthday. Craft cocktails were great and food was great. I will be returning. My server made my day with a birthday card signed by the staff and a small box of complementary truffles.
Fantastic food and attentive service. Loved it!
My wife and I have been to Ulele several times and it has been exceptional every time. Our last visit was exceptional, as usual for Ulele. I had the pork chop, it was a very generous size and cooked perfectly with a side of green beans and a large portion of twice-baked potato. My wife ordered a steak and it was cooked exactly to her taste. We split a delicious ice cream desert made from their stout beer with organic blueberries. Three main points: 1) food is delicious and service is great; 2) portions a generous and you won’t leave hungry; 3) we’ll be back.
Great food and great service. Have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Staff is knowledgeable and this time had a check in with a manager
Fantastic restaurant; generous portions and great chef!
Service was unfortunately very poor. We sat on the second floor on a Tuesday night at 8pm and our waitress didn't even acknowledge us. Even after poking my head up a number of times (and she seemed to be looking in our direction) it took her at least 15-20 minutes to even get our order. Initially she blamed it on the fact she wasn't informed there was a reservation; having two patrons sitting there patiently waiting I would think would be enough...
The food overall was also unfortunately not very good. I ordered ahi tuna and my piece was very tough (not exactly how its supposed to be served). I could barely eat it because the cut was so tough and gave up after a few bites. My girlfriend ordered shrimp and grits that was OK, but a little too rich. However I would say in fairness the appetizers we ordered (we split a salad and got avocado soups) were good.
In finishing the meal our waitress again took exceptionally long to stop by, even with my girlfriend and I clearly pushing our plates away and waiting. She walked by our table a number of times and didn't even acknowledge us. Even the bill took long to receive. In poor taste, rather than removing our meals and disposing of them in the kitchen, she also started dumping out my half eaten meal onto the other dirty patrons plates on the overall serving dish after picking it up in front of us. Overall it was VERY bad.
The manager of the restaurant never acknowledged our table. Despite paying attention to a larger party a few tables down, there was no customary stopping by to see how everything was, despite him also walking by our table as well.
Overall - whatever misses they had on the food could have been quickly overcome by the service. However, the service for this meal was worse than most places I've been, and with a pricey menu and upscale vibe - one would think they'd get much more for what they are paying. We were wholly dissatisfied and I unfortunately could not recommend this restaurant.
Great food and service as always!
The setting at Ulele is unmatched. The view of the river and the Tampa skyline is beautiful. Unfortunately, the food does not nearly equal the setting. While the menu is extensive with lots of interesting dishes, the quality of the food is average or below average. We had a mahi special, grilled mahi, pompano,a pasta dish and a steak special along with a shrimp appetizer and the restaurant's version of hush puppies with gator. The fish dishes were ok but not great. The steak was below average and the pasta dish was just so so. The atmosphere makes up for a lot as the restaurant is spacious and the bar scene is bustling. The prices are a bit overpriced for the quality. Ulele is a place where I will take visitors to Tampa because of the setting. But I will not frequently visit due to the food.
Awesome place. Loved the food selection especially the avocado soup
Was recommended by my daughter, had a great experience
The food was great. Atmosphere was nice.
As always, both the food and service was excellent. Brewmaster Tim gave my stepson and son-in-law a personal guided tour of the brewery. Richard Gonzmart and the Columbia Restaurant Group have added a true gem to the Tampa restaurant market.
Everything wS Great
Ulele is a family favorite - we have yet to have a bad experience!
First time I was at Ulele's, my dining companion had been there previously. I had made a late Saturday night reservation early in the week for inside the restaurant but the weather was perfect, I requested if we could get an outdoor table as the atmosphere is wonderful outside. The hostess was able to accommodate us even though the restaurant was still crowded after 9 pm. We waited at the bar and had the most delicious Lemon Drop martinis. We were seated at our outdoor table precisely on time. Our server was friendly and informative. I had the shrimp and lobster in a wonderful cream sauce, my friend had a salad that she said was excellent. We spent almost two hours there and enjoyed every minute. The ambiance, food and service is first class, but the outdoor area with the firepit, lighting and conversation areas was over the top. I live in Sarasota but the next time I'm in Tampa, I'll be returning to Ulele's and I'll recommend it to anyone who is in the area.
I’m totally bummed because this is the first poor experience we’ve had at Ulele. Ulele is a favorite of ours.
We started off at the interior bar while we waited for our reservation. The interior bartender seemed annoyed that we sat at the bar. My husband and I quickly glanced at the wine list and ordered a glass of wine each. They were delivered without a word or even a smirk. He left the check and moved along.
We were sat in the large booths behind the hostess stand. (Our first time sitting in a booth.). The booth seating is weird - best way to describe it. The table is super high and the seating is very low. I’m only 5’ but my husband is 6’4” and he found it just as uncomfortably high as I did.
Our server Rick seemed disorganized and awkward. I’m not sure if it’s because it was so loud in that area that he could barely hear us or if the booth was just too deep set he couldn’t reach the diners in the furtherest part of the booth but it was uncomfortable interacting with him. He really never acknowledged anything you said....when he walked away, we were left wondering if he understood what we ordered/responded or not. Kind of a waiting game to see what was delivered.
The food was just okay. (In the past, it’s been fabulous.). I had the seafood risotto and found the rice to be under cooked and the dish very salty. Another diner in our party stated the saffron rice that came with her meal was also under cooked (ie crunchy).
As our evening progressed, we noticed that the area of the restaurant where we were dining was becoming increasingly smokey. Not sure if the filtration system was malfunctioning, the grill was just being used more heavily or just, simply, the location of our table was the issue.
Hopefully it was just a off night; it happens.
Once again, Ulele does not disappoint. Even though the weather was a little rainy, it cleared up and the view of the river was great. This is not a cheap experience with drinks and dessert, but the food is perfectly spiced and the price for what you receive is well worth the splurge. I'll be back!
Never disappoints us. Love this place!
Wonderful food and great outdoor dining. Inside can be very noisy, but upstairs is a little less so. Innovative menu with great variety of food prepared in a flavorful and delicious way. Craft brews were great too. Server we got was a bit slow (7 minutes after being seated before he greeted us and brought water), but got better as we went along. If you have kids, the outdoor space will allow you to enjoy your time there and your kids to run around without driving you crazy. You must visit this place when in Tampa
Never disappoints! Fantastic is every way possible!
Definitely would good back. Great food, very unique place.
Had my family with me on a business trip - asked around the hotel for a good kid friendly place - the bartender recommended Ulele- we had such a great experience- we came back the next night!! Food was awesome- local craft brews - my 7 year old son had a blast feeding / catching fish - super great staff — I highly recommend this place.
