Uchi was awesome!! I took my boyfriend for his birthday and Uchi did not disappoint! Everything from the menu was fresh and delicious and the drink I had was great too! We had an awesome waitress and even got a complimentary dish since we were there celebrating a birthday. I will definitely return to Uchi for happy hour or other special occasions!

Service was exceptional as usual. This is the second time we come here for the tasting menu in the past two months and three of our courses were very fishy and tasted old. We were quite disappointed. We even ordered a few of our additional favorites like the Sake Toro which was horribly fishy and obviously not Uchi’s usual fresh quality. We’re used to better quality and fresh options at Uchi, not so much this time.

We heard great things about Uchi so we had to check it out ourselves. We are novice sushi eaters, but our waitress Jessica answered all of our questions and her recommendations were on-point. We ended up trying two pieces from the Tokyo specials menu, and they were our favorite! We will definitely be back.

Chi was great, but not what I expected. I think if you were really trying to impress a date or client that liked Japanese food, Uchi would be a decent choice. Prices are very high for what you get, and you don’t get much for $150-200 spend. I loved the property, and after they attempted to seat the two of us in the back by the bathrooms we asked and moved right up near the bar and that made the night much more enjoyable. We did a 6 “course” set with 3 additional dishes and drinks. Everything is shared, so think average sushi joint 2 pieces per order and that’s a course at Uchi. Yes the sushi was DELICIOUS. They do some nice sauces and get creative with ingredients that was definitely memorable.

We had a great time, and I’m glad we finally made it here. That said, I wouldn’t go too far out of my way to go back any time soon and that’s sad. I believe these businesses should be regulars for local residents and I don’t feel that’s what Uchi is.

Dining at Uchi was amazing, as always. The owner and chef, Tyson Cole, even stopped by our table! Made my birthday dinner amazing!

Wife and I had one of the best meals ever. I do not eat fish but there was still plenty of other options. Food was perfectly cooked and served immediately while hot.

I was really taken aback. Really loved the interior decor and ambience. The food was really phenomenal. I love Japanese food, but am not a huge fan of sushi/sashimi; I tried some and ended up loving it. Was very pleasantly surprised. Had a wonderful server (shout out to Shireen!). Went during happy hour (wasn't intentional), so the prices per dish were certainly not representative of the four dollar signs I saw on Yelp. We splurged and ended up spending a little over $150 with tip included, which is to be clear an expensive dinner, but there are so many things you're paying for outside of the mere ingredients that are worth it.

Every dish was delicious. The waitstaff was A+. We enjoyed the evening. We did order desert (highly recommend the chocolate concoction). Just wish there was a sweet note send off for the birthday person for fun or luck.

We went to Uchi to celebrate a birthday and had an amazing time! The slow, one-dish-at-a-time pace gave us plenty of opportunity to enjoy our food and fill up without getting stuffed, plus gave us ample opportunity to focus on each dish as it came. The sake cocktails were delicious and as always the sushi was beyond compare.

While the restaurant is fabulous itself our waiter was beyond fabulous. He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and wine list and his suggestions were perfect for us. We brought our 11 and 13 year olds who are adventurous eaters and they loved Uchi as well.

Uchi is a one of a kind restaurant that you must go to at least once. The food is amazing, like little flavor explosions with every bite! Visit Uchi during social hour for awesome deals on tastings! Very happy with my visit, the Walu Walu and Brussels sprouts alone will bring me back again!

My wife and I have been here several times and each time the food has been great and the service impeccable. It's definitely not a cheap place to eat, but well worth it. Make reservations if you can or you may find a 2-3 hour wait.

Love this place! I’m very picky w sushi , and moving from Los Angeles i was worried i wouldn’t find a great sushi joint. I was wrong! This place is so good if not better than sugar fish in la, and compares to nobu in Malibu. Glad i found it!

Either Uchi's food quality and flavor has declined, or the standards for food in Austin has risen to the point that I was extremely disappointed in my dinner at Uchi -- relative to the price. I would recommend to go to some newer restaurants. I think Uchi has become stagnant. I'd like to see new dishes on Uchi's menu and their old dishes need upgrades.

Heather and Zach were my two previous people that helped us when I was there on my first visit. This time we brought our Vice President hoping for the same experience and I would say the servers weren't as great as Heather and Zach.

It was my first time at Uchi and it was so delicious. The food was great-- the only thing we had qualms about was a roll that came with a chile aioli that tasted like mayonnaise. It was a bit disappointing. Also, it is a bit loud in there and I wasn't really able to hear my date that well. Our hostess was wonderful and I would come back here again.

This was by far the most consistently excellent meal we've had in Austin all the years we've lived there. Our server, was phenomenal and ordered us perfect dishes to go with our inclinations that night. Definitely a meal for special occasions, but it absolutely wowed us.
