One of the best sushi dining experiences I’ve ever had. Every time I am in Houston I must make a stop here. Delicious, innovative and the freshest food around. Always let the wait staff choose the dishes to serve and never disappointed! Thank you again!

One of my favorite dining experiences of my life. Amazing, unique food, and absolutely amazing service--just super considerate and knowledgeable. Oh, and the cherry - fantastic sake list. Go!

Excellent food paired with excellent service. This was a birthday dinner for my girlfriend and her first time to Uchi. Unfortunately she had a cold but still wanted to go. The server made excellent recommendations for tea and a more soup like dish for her. The runners delivered each dish to the table with a description so you know exactly what your eating. The fried milk desert finished the meal and was a huge hit. She ended the meal happy and feeling a lot better than when we started.

Everytime my wife and I come to Uchi, we are never let down. Their food is excellent and for my wife, they have plenty of vegetarian options for her to choose from. I highly recommend this place; it is perfect for date night, birthdays, anniversaries, or any other special occasion you may have. The only downside is there will be a wait, but it is WORTH THE WAIT.

The service is a bit slow by American expectations. The dinner I hosted lasted two and a half hours (a "belle table" in European terms). Even so, the staff was polite and knowledgable and the food itself--a fusion of traditional Japanese cuisine and the newest rends in American cuisine--was extraordinary from start to finish. The list of sakes is first-rate. Understandably, the remaining list of wines is a bit slim, but it's well-chosen. A nice lagniappe: filtered still and sparkling water are provided to the table without charge. The evening wasn't inexpensive (it ran to about $125.00 per person with tip), but the cost was more than worth the expense.

Went to Uchi for the first time this Tuesday for a birthday. There were five of us and it was everyone's first visit to Uchi. The service and food were outstanding. Our server, Alicia, explained the menu, answered our many questions, and made suggestions. We ordered so many different things and loved all of them. The hot rock wagyu beef, sake toro, gyumaki were three of our favorites, but honestly everything was delicious. We had the fried milk for desert - so good! We will definitely be back soon.

Tasting menu was very good but not great. The service was fantastic and all the little touches were wonderful. The drinks were also great. The flavors were inventive and mostly worked very well together, though some didn't dazzle. Some of the fish wasn't cooked wonderfully. Overall, great food but wasn't the quality you'd expect for the price. I would skip the tasting menu and go for the regular menu. Again, fantastic service!

Uchi is our favorite sushi restaurant! It's always fantastic and we love the creativity of the chefs. Our teenage daughter is gluten free and they are awesome about accommodating her with almost all of the dishes they offer. We drive 45 minutes to enjoy Uchi and it's worth every mile and penny.

I would have preferred receiving our food closer together. However, the food was absolutely excellent our waitress was very nice and took great care of us! Our favorites were the fried oxtail, the ham and egg, the 72-hour, the 3-hour, the tongue was really amazing!
Desserts well we ended up with 6 when we just wanted 3 didn’t take inconsideration the different menus, but really good!
We will most likely come back.

We went with high expectations having built up this dinner in our minds and we were not disappointed. My husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary, and I don't know if we got a little special treatment or if that is just how high quality the experience always is, but we wont soon forget our Ushi meal!! Foiegras Nigiri, Hokaido Uni?!?!? MIND BLOWN!! One amazing plate after another. I can't wait to go back.

I️ only saw my waiter twice. Once for the water and second for the check. The food was not what I️ expected. I‎t’s not worth the price. There’s no flavor. And some dishes were plated poorly. Maybe the inconsistency was because of how busy I‎t was on a Thursday night. However, I‎t was my first time and I️ have been waiting to try Uchi, but I wouldn’t come back.

My husband visited Uchi in Austin twice these past few years and raved about it so I decided to take my friend who was hosting me to the same restaurant in Houston. We ordered the Chef six course meal for both of us. I was disappointed that all the courses were served in one dish for us to share which some people might not find to be too hygienic. I liked the first course Hana Chili with slices of orange. The second course of Madai and Sakai Toro was not tasty. I liked the third course Sake Namida. The last course Kinoko nab with gyutoro was delicious but did not seem Japanese to me. The chocolate dessert with fried milk was excellent. I will give Uchi another try the next time I am in Houston or Austin, and will order the 10 course meal that my husband raved about.
