Wow, wow, wow! I hi was a fantastic experience. My vegetarian coworker and I were in town for a conference, and looking for a good compromise meal, and we really found it.
Upon entering, Uchi was a bit intimidating, very trendy and young vibe. We were seated promptly. The menu came and we were a bit more intimidated, what were these menu items? The words meant nothing to me and so therefore didn’t sound good. Then our server rescued us. Her recommendations were spot on. Some highlights were the Brussel sprouts, the uchi salad, and dayboat scallop.
Could not recommend more!
Negihama from the social hour menu is simply the best!
Great food as always!
The service was extremely slow and the restaurant was only about 45-50% full. After we ordered, we were told they ran out of two of the items but the server didn’t make any recommendations or offer to bring something in their place. The check was the fastest thing we received. The food that we did get was good.
From the minute we walked in the door, our dining experience was remarkable. Our server, Brian, was fabulous. Every person that came to the table to deliver a dish was knowledgeable and friendly. The wine was delicious. The quality and freshness of the food surpassed my expectations and the variety and presentation of the offerings was stunning. I could not possibly recommend this establishment more. Exquisite. A phenomenal dining experience!
Our family loves to go to Uchi for all special occasions. The food is the best in the DFW metroplex. We have a favorite server named Stephanie who once again helped us to have an amazing dining experience.
Amazing meal as always!!!
Uchi is the BEST place in Dallas for Japanese cuisine. The ambience is beautiful, the service is incredible, the experience is bar-none. You will taste small dishes, with creative presentation and vibrant flavors. Our favorite, pictures, was the salmon, compressed thin sliced apples, capers and créme fraiche. I took an executive chef here for his birthday and he was blown away. Highly recommend for special occasion, between the two of us, we ordered a little bit of everything - started with 5 pieces of sashimi, the scallop was amazing - a couple cold dishes, a couple hot dishes and one of the specials, a couple cocktails and spent $150. We are downstairs in the restaurant, there is a casual option upstairs with great atmosphere too! Highly recommend!!
Food was amazing! Our server was so knowledgeable and guided us throughout the entire meal. My friend doesn’t eat raw fish but he got her to eat a piece and she LOVED it!
Came for anniversary dinner and wow! Every single person that passed our table wishes us a Happy A! Food was amazing and paired with stellar service.
Sensational experience from start to finish. The valets, hosts, Mateo, Rafael and foodrunners ensured a warm, lovely evening characterized by attention to detail and regard for our well-being. Have recommended to friends and will be back soon for another delightful experience.
Best dining experience I have had. Wait staff is incredibly helpful and teaches as you go for people who don’t have a wealth of knowledge with this type of cuisine.
The food was amazing! Our server was excellent! Outstanding!
Hadn’t been in awhile because we tired of it...we were so glad we came back.! Food was fabulous as was the service!
Among the best eclectic Japanese restaurants in Dallas. Always turns out deliciously fresh and inventive dishes. The sashimi has that just caught freshness and tempura dishes are light and crisp and flavorful. Service is spot on and attentive. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for with a good as it gets meal.
The food flavor was amazing but the portions have gotten super small. You pay a lot of money and don't really get much. Overall the experience was great, but I wish they would consider making their portions a little larger.
What an amazing dining experience- The food was absolutely to die for!!!
We mostly like this restaurant, and for now, it is remaining in our general rotation for sushi. But Uchi has some problems that they need to address.
The food is good, and some items are in fact excellent. The cocktails are creative, ambience is upscale, and crowd is energetic.
But after dining here numerous times now, I have to say that I have three complaints:
(1) The waiters have a tendency to be overly immersive. They tend to feel the need to prove to the table how great their personalities are. That part about Uchi is quite amateur.
(2) The waiters and kitchen seem to pay little or no attention to the timing of when your courses are brought to the table. We were still working on our first course while they proceeded to stack up several other courses around our table of two people. Unacceptable. This is typical for Uchi, so you must ask your waiter to course out your dishes one at a time, or otherwise into batches that suit you. Rest assured they won’t ask your preference if you’re not proactive about it. That is also quite amateur.
(3) Inexplicably, the waiters tend to downplay the Chef’s omakase here and instead they push some sort of “waiter’s omakase.” I know the chef, Tyson Cole, is a reputed one, so I’m down for his selections. I don’t know the waiter from a stranger on the street, so why would I trust his or her judgement? The strength of this restaurant is Tyson, not the waiters, so this is simply a missed opportunity by the management and evidence of hubris by the waitstaff.
AP is one of the best waiters we have ever had.
I ultimately left before eating. I had a reservation for one. When I arrived at my early time, there were many tables open, plus several seats at sushi bar. I was asked if I’d sit at the bar since I was alone. I said ok. The hostess gave me a nice seat on the corner of the bar. I was satisfied. Then a man came and said I’d have to move to a single seat between two large men. It was too uncomfortable, so I left. Don’t bother going to uchi if you are a single woman. They won’t value you as a customer.
I took my mom here for her birthday & everything about dinner exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was relaxed but efficient, and the service was above & beyond. I would even say that it was the best meal I've ever eaten! The dessert was 10/10 too. It was a pricey meal, but surprisingly worth every penny. Wow to the chef & the waiters. I can't wait to go back.
Truly a one of a kind restaurant unlike anything that I've ever eaten before!
Houston location is much better. It’s was just ok.
Amazing!! Our server was very personable and gave great suggestions on food...we will definitely be dining again!
Best sushi house in Dallas! The service to the quality of food top notch!
This might be the best dining experience we have had in Dallas! We did the server omakase and everything was amazing! Our excellent server, Stephanie, asked us a few questions and then started bringing one amazing dish after another. The short rib nigiri, tempura shrimp, foie gras nigiri, and fried milk dessert all stood out, but nothing was short of amazing. Great experience and would definitely return.
Uchi is a must try in Dallas, and if you, try the Foie gras sushi. It's the best thing I've ever had. I would suggest a group of at least 4 and try the Omakase, it's a 10-16 course meal.
Coming from NYC, Uchi wins for best sushi in America. Been dreaming about this fish I tried here over a year ago. By just describing my waitress Charlotte knew exactly what I was talking about and was able to lead me in the right direction. I Sat at the sushi bar and Chef Jamie was incredible - I reordered 3 of the things I tried, and was given 2 tastes of other dishes for free!
First time dining at Sake Social , celebrating an early family birthday. Definitely a favorite now ... recommend the delicious wall walu, Brussels sprouts, spicy crunchy tuna, squash blossoms, and more. Save room for fried milk!!! Bonus points to our waiter, Linh... 👍👍
amazing experience! my dad had the best birthday dinner!
This is the best sushi ever!! A must every time we go to Dallas.
Uchi has a great selection of sushi & quality & taste is impeccable!!
K is an amazing sushi chef! Our favorite in the world!
Came here for my wife’s birthday and it did not disappoint. The service was knowledgeable and friendly without being obtrusive. The food was remarkable from the quality to its presentation and execution. It’s a great special occasion destination but could get ruinously expensive. Will definitely be back
The staff is well trained and knowledgeable on the menu and can explain all the items in great detail.
The food was delicious.
One of the best experiences in the world of dining (internationally).
First time visitors. Great food, great waiter (Rafael), who provided great suggestions for us. We will return!!
We enjoyed Uchi for a reunion with old friends. It was perfect for that. We took our time and enjoyed the chef’s choice sushi. I recommend the scallop!
Attempts at creativity fall flat as just off. Wait staff guidance is remarkable plentiful but irrelevant and unhelpful.
